      Watch videos of work done on real skin with a clear view of what's going on. There are thousands.
      Always error on the side of not going too deep the first part of the line and wipe. Until the line is solid. Tale three tries if need be. Cuz all skin is different! You will find the bog naturally and much more easily than most people think. After my first line or two on someone I rarely take more than two passes at the first bit of the line from then on. Of course the goal is one pass but at first just error on the side of little more deep at a time like digging rather than cutting etc. You can even ride the tube at first on color packing if you have no supervision etc. Too deep = blowout. Not deep enough = second pass and few extra seconds of time.

    • @MrProfit420
      @MrProfit420 3 года назад

      Oranges are far from the texture of real skin. Just because it looks nice on an orange, doesn’t mean he’s got skills on skin. There is no skin stretching. He’s not wiping..or dabbing I should say, after every line pull. His hand speed/machine speed ratio is off. Most of that ink wouldn’t set in real skin. But you won’t know that, because he isn’t wiping after his line pulls. He wipes maybe 4 or 5 times the whole sesh. Which gave that ink a lot of time to dry. He also doesn’t use a lubricant of some kind like A&D or something similar. Though, I’m sorry that whoever did your dream tattoo, botched it on your skin. I’m just relaying the fact that, oranges are much different than skin. So if what that guy is doing, “looks good”. There are lot of things he is doing that are not good habits to have as a tattoo artist. But hey, the next time an orange comes to him for a tattoo, dude has them covered for sure lol

    Bottled water is tap water..and a&d?..ride the tube!?..never ride the tube, learn to do it corectly. 6 volts on that orange is ok but real skin is gonna need a little more power and a slower hand..i see that pinky but missing the 3 part stretch that is required for skin.. i do not advise taking advise like this..go for it! Use your skin cause aint no orange teaching you a damn thing..learning lots of bad habbits here.. going to fast at low volts, absolutly no stretch witch is a very important thing to remember..easy to forget wile tattooing especially if you dont practice tattooing correctly..this is very elementary and if your not willing to sacrifice a little of your own skin to learn on the your not all in...yea again tight circles...but never mentions stretch, yea i know you dont stretch on a orange and thats why i say its one of the worst ways to creat bad habbits cause that is all youll be practicing if you do this..at least go get you somepig skin..free most the time at most butchers.. this is far from actually practicing correctly.. and volts dont go by how comfortable you are..its about power and hand speed.. prolly a good idea to skip this vid.. youll learn only bad habbits and false machine setup..o and yea..put alcohol in that water..that will feel real nice...smh.. any child can play with an orange..but you learn nothing but bad posture and obviously this should have been more about how to aply a stencil useing to much stencil stuff, thats why it bled out and looked shitty from the get go..

    Please don't make "sterile" water with tap water and alcohol. Unless it is more alcohol than water, it's not going to be sterile and can cause infection.

    • @austindorf83
      @austindorf83 4 года назад +8

      Your ink isn’t sterile. The razor usually isn’t sterile. The shop you’re in isn’t sterile. Use your head. I’ve gotten over 5 dozen tattoos, two dozen given by myself in my goddamn basement. Not one infection. Infection comes from shitty aftercare or an “artist” shredding the skin.

    • @sdaskalas6393
      @sdaskalas6393 4 года назад +2

      @@austindorf83 ye honestly, if you consider how ppl used to do tattoos in the past or like where(prison,ships etc) the infection usually comes afterwards, even if you mess up during tattooing on sth hygienic wise you clean the wound in the end and re-sterilize it, also the odds of getting an infection are scarce if the tattoo(as said above) is done right and its not a scar-level deep .My tattoo artist goes on and on about after care but I ve seen him not giving a flying shit about his new tattoos :P

    • @austindorf83

    Careful with this type of info. As an early tattoo artist I use to sculpt the lines but that only created bad habits! If you can do it I’d recommend first pass lines every time. I notice a lot of these newer artists use the line sculpting and don’t realize they’re doing more damage then a clean looking line

    I'm going to have to disagree with starting on skin. Would never teach an apprentice on an orange. You watch and learn and do a line here and there amd some packing shading here and there at a point when I can correct anything they might mess up.
    You could tattoo 100 oranges but your first real skin will be your first real skin. This is not rocket science, it's art. Ask 5 pros get 5 answers in any event. I'm no authority just speaking to my experience as an apprentice and as an artist having trained many.

      Well considering you said not jumping on skin without supervision of someone knows what they doing, I believe I spoke too soon. If you don't have access to someone to supervise you on skin that shouldn't be a bar to entering the craft. So maybe oranges have a place outside my small but growing window of perspective!
      Good luck with your channel magn!

    Hey man nice vid! Have you had any problems with that machine? My one cuts out under 7 volts and wouldn’t run with my WJX cartridges 😓🤦🏽‍♂️ it runs fine without a cartridge but once I put one on, drama starts. Have you had same issues with that machine?

    Sick rose, been trying for a good while to stencil out a rose to tattoo on my hand, i cant seem to just get it right for some reason, any advice? i also tattoo with both hands, my left i can always get depth right, line work needs work though, my right hand i got better linework but the depth isnt there, any reason why that is?? Im no artist at all, i call it doodles and i doodle on myself more than anything, ive tried fake skin , bananas, oranges, and nothing compares to using real skin and tattooing on myself
