While Dave sings, plays rhythm guitar and solos on every album, here on 'Tornado of Souls', it is Marty Friedman doing the soloing. He was in the band from 1990 until 2000. As you listen to more Megadeth, from the early songs on, you can generally tell whether Dave is soloing or one of the other guitarist in the band at the time. I believe there have been six different guitarists on the 16 albums released, from Chris Poland in 1985 to Kiko Loureiro today. Dave has his own style which is simply straight up shred. Not a lot extra. Alternate picking runs, tapping and pick scraps make up the majority of his solos. That said, Dave is still an innovator. From 'spider chords' in the early 80's to planting his thumb on the 12 fret and playing the 24 fret with his fingers on 'Washington is Next'.
My take on 'Tornado of Souls' is the song is about the end of a relationship, which Dave seemed to have plenty of knowledge about. But then he realizes that there is someone better out there. The end, I think, is the woman possibly seeing he is happier without her and the regret consuming her like poison. One thing about Dave's lyrics, there can be so many different interpretations depending on your view of life. So there is usually not one right answer. I have even seen interviews where Dave has changed the meaning of a song over time.
If like this song, check out 'Ashes in your Mouth' or 'Good Mourning/Black Friday'. Two very different sounding songs written by Dave during two different points in his life and Megadeth's discography.

This solo is known as the greatest in thrash metal! Keep doing some Rust in Peace react, I love it

I agree 100%. This whole album is filled with classic solos. "Holy Wars...", "Hangar 18", and a very close second to this solo is the dual Marty/Dave solos in "Lucretia"! Don't sleep on Lucretia. The rhythm guitar, vocals and especially the solos. It's kind of a slept on song. This album is the best Thrash metal album, ever. Over Master and Raining Blood, even. IMHO. 😁 🤘

Rust In Peace is definitely my "get shit done" album.

Rust In Peace is the pinnacle of thrash metal, and tornado of souls is the gem in that crown.
Holy Wars and Hangar 18 are also definitely things you might want to consider reacting to. Hangar 18 is definitely what drew me to the album initially

    Meaning behind the song.
This song was written by lead singer Dave Mustaine and bass player David Ellefson. The lyrics talk about ending a dysfunctional relationship, and near the end of the song, Mustaine sings about giving the girl "the kiss of death." This led to speculation that the song ends with him killing his partner, but Mustaine has dismissed that, explaining that it is a very personal written at a difficult time. Said Mustaine: "'Tornado of Souls' was written the day I broke up with my fiancé; it explains what I went through, how I sprang out of it. I thought my existence was in that relationship - I was trapped in the eye of a tornado, and if I stepped out of line, I'd be blown to oblivion. No more whirlwind romances for me. If I do get back in that situation, I'm gonna be very aware now and check the weather before I get involved."

Holy Wars is an obvious go to masterpiece, one of the greatest thrash songs and albums (Rust in Peace) of all time, but don't sleep on the first 3 albums as they are epic, early, gritty musical brilliance, or the latest 2, Dystopia and The suck, the dying... and the dead 😉, brutal guitar work
