- Last in this season! We take on a former President of the USA, and one particularly vicious rabbit. Thanks for watching, everyone!
[Update: this was filmed in April 2015 and published in early August - before the news of Jimmy Carter's illness. We wish the best to him and his family!]

Can we point out how, while it wasn't released, the official White House photographer actually took that picture? Like, he didn't HAVE to take a picture of the president getting attacked by a Rabbit. But he did. He took the picture.
Tinfoil hat.
To be fair... you wouldn't?
If I were him I’d assemble a slideshow of all the president’s most embarrassing and funniest moments for the White House staffer’s Christmas party
we need that picture leaked.
And you wouldn’t
I love how tom and matt instantly derail gary's rant about the grassy knoll with teletubbies at the same time. Absolutely brilliant
This is vary out of context
I dont know how many times I’ve watched this but I always think hobbitses
All these years later and they're like a tenth of a second away from biscuits
Ironically enough, in the one singular Teletubbies episode I ever watched, there were a large number of rabbits just wandering around in the background.
When they were spinning conspiracy theories involving the grassy knoll, it's too bad their being British means none of them remember the Congressional group that held hearings about the Kennedy assassination: the WARREN Commission.
There was a moon-like UFO spotted by a man who was later attacked by a giant rabbit. According to Japanese folklore, rabbits are known to inhabit the moon. Coincidence? I think not!

So that Princess from the moon was behind it all? You sound like that guy who said the rabbit was Actually sailor moon
BRILLIANT. Chris now takes the honor of being the second member to win Citation Needed within 10 seconds of the article title being read out. Matt, you have your work cut out for you.
He also got 3 points in a row
"Rabbits can't cut through steel beams"

They chew through them. Why bring a saw with you when you have built-in tools for the job?

Funny you mentioned Teletubbies, because the costumes for them were absolutely huge, like over 7 foot, so they bred their own race of giant rabbits to make the scale look right. Which is interesting because a decade later they didn’t seem to care about the scale issues of In the Night Garden.
I’m very passionate about this apparently.
I think they just used an existing breed of rabbit "Flemish giant", this breed has existed since the 16th century. I don't know how you got that they "bred their own race" whatever that means. As if you could do that fast enough for a television show.
@@AlexanderNash I mean, rabbits ARE famous for breeding very quickly.
I just want to point out: whoever subtitled this video didn't catch that Gary was saying "Close Encounters of the FURRED Kind" at 7:17. Makes that Biscuits real confusing if you just rely on the subs.
What's Close Encounters Of The Furred Kind then btw
@@Agnt14 Close encounters of the third kind is a film. It rhymes well which is why it got biscuits I think.
i somehow never realised he said furred i always thought he said third but pronounced it as fird O.O

I think the real question is, when HASN'T he been Tom Scott?

When he was Mad Cap'n Tom, obviously.

I only just found the channel and "Citation Needed" yesterday evening, and already it has utterly destroyed my productivity. I love it! 😀
I love watching this at half speed. Everyone sounds drunk, especially Tom XD

I'm on my seventh run though, with about 20 on the podcast as well.

I hope, for the next series, that they move back to the old seating arrangements - I miss the old dynamic of Chris and Gary feeding off each other's energy and riffing on wallaby butlers or whatever.
Captions are wrong at 7:18 - Gary says "Furred", caption reads "Third".
Lagomorpha of unusual size? I don't think those exist.
Ah, I'm gonna miss Citation Needed. Great episode, this. :)

I was hoping they would go home after the mystery biscuits. Would have been so perfectly anti-climatic.
As a US citizen, I am LOVING the making fun of my country by Brits. (I'm not even being sarcastic here, I'm enjoying it.)
The 'Hermit Permit' joke was used way before in a game called Kingdom of Loathing, but there was no Kermit, so yeah.
They said Teletubbies; I was saying, "Hobbits!"
Sad to see the season is over already, I've enjoyed this series for a while now and I am looking forward to what you guys put out in the future.
-Much love from the states!
"Noo Noo's about to be very naughty" xD
Everything changed when the rabbit nation attacked...
Is it me, or are the mystery biscuits clearly chocolate digestives? ;)
I waited for the new episode. It didn't disappoint. Keep it up!
I guessed the second Carter article was about his UFO sighting, since former President Carter himself was interviewed about it several years ago on The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe podcast.
I truly enjoy the witty banter back and forth between these bright fellows. Please come back soon.
I love this show. :-) Never stop!
This is mentioned in one of my AP Gov textbooks so I decided to rewatch

This show is my life! I never want it to end.
This is now one of my favourite episodes.
I was hoping it'd be Bugs Bunny throttling a variant of Elmer Fudd with whatever defining characteristics were used to indicate Carter.
But yeah, by the 70s, copyright law was solidly entrenched.

Partly, but not only. That's why Sailor Moon is otherwise called Usagi ("rabbit"), but they didn't invent that mythology for the show, just made use of it.

Found it interesting how for the last 5 minutes of the video, it never cut back to Gary's camera. Presumably because the batteries or memory ran out.
Nah, he was replaced by rabbits in the last 5 minutes and they couldn't risk close-up shots that would give away the disguise.
Assuming 35mm film is 36mm wide, the footage of a single shot would be 12 CentiFeet.
Fact checks: rabbits are not rodents. Cottontail rabbits don't burrow. Swamp rabbits are the largest species of cottontail rabbit.
*_5 is not enough episodes for a series._* More! More! More! More! More! More!
Thank you...
Swamp hares are about two feet long, and can carry rabies. And ones that are swimming at and trying to get into a boat are acting very damned weird, which is often a sign of rabies. So discouraging it from getting within biting distance isn't a bad idea.
I'm sure I can detect one or two additional laughing voices in this... coincidence, _or something more sinister?_
spooky
That was the rabbit species in monty python movie.
Fun fact: Rabbits are, in fact, not rodents - Rabbits, Hares & such are part of their own special order called the Lagomorphs
