This tip is A1. I feel like it might go best if you incorporate it before you start customizing so you don’t have to worry about accidentally stripping any paint off
Agreed! That’s the way to go, just have ran into a few situations in the past where even though I’m done it feels like I’m missing just one little hint of extra color lol
Thanks bro for all the knowledge that you give. I thank God for ya. It's good to see you have made it so far and yet remain humble and willing to help others. You are an inspiration, my guy. keep God first and keep doing your thing!!! #RESPECT
I would probably do that stitching first unless there is a reason u did it after you finished the shoe ? Thanks for the info I’m learning a lot from your videos
Yes absolutely agree. I actually end up doing it last quite often since I almost never design with the stitching color in mind. It’s almost an add on at the end for me once I have a good feel for what color I need just a tiny bit more of for the design
Do you ever recommend painting AF1 midsoles or is it just inevitable that it will crack? If so, any tips? I see many customizers doing it but unsure of the long term results. Thanks!
I've got three questions for you my man! First is, when it comes to airbrushing leather shoes (Air Force in my case, want to do some parts brown and beige) do you recommend using sandpaper on the shoes as preparation, or is the Angelus preparer eneugh for preparation? The other question is do you always do two grey primer layers, no matter the place on the shoe and the color that goes on top? Last question is if you youse some additional products like two soft for those typical crease areas in the front or is the preparation and finishing enough to hold the paint on it? Would be so nice if someone here could help me, because I want to make some dope shoes. Thank you and keep your content awesome like that✌️❤️
2soft is just for fabrics, so materials like mesh canvas or sockliners. Light grey is more important when you’re going from a dark color like black to something else. Not as much on white. Always sand leather
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear Thanks for replying so fast my guy, so last question then would be how many layers of paint would you airbrush on your white air force?
Great video, I'm obssesed. I have a problem and If anynone knows please help. My midsoles on my Nike Airforce 1 have turned yellow and I want to paint them white. What do I need to do? I guess I will take angelus white paint plus a 2-hard and then paint my midsole, correct? Thank you
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear Awesome yes I wanted to do like some gold stitching but keeping the shoe the factory white finish thanks for the quick response
Do you have to heat set since youre using the 2 soft or because youre painting fabric? Also if I have another brand fabric paint that says it works on porous surfaces do you think that will work as well?
Do you recommend painting the midsole area about the midsole sticking? I always see that areas not painted on other custom shoes and I was wondering if it’s durable when it’s painted with angelus paints
@@amygemin2012 That is Angelus 2-Soft, an absolute must-have when working on fabrics such as the sock-liner of shoes and other soft fabrics. When heat-set properly, this Fabric Medium will help keep your fabrics nice and soft after being painted.
DO NOT use this method with dark colors like purple, it completely ruined my custom shoes and there was a faint purple glow all around even after going around MULTIPLE times with acetone!!!!!
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear i substituted 2 soft w 2 thin, but don’t think i put a 1:1 ratio, going to retry this method again today and see if anything changes.

Have you ever talked about how to do the pinstripe effect? I love the subtle gradient of the blue/white on these. These turned out SICK!!
3 minutes Tuesdays is not too bad though. Thanks for the advice and awesome video.

How did you paint the bottom yellow? I’ve always wondered how people paint the bottom of the sole and have it last. Pleeeaaase let me know 🙏
These weren’t painted, base shoe came that way. Can’t paint soles unfortunately from my experience

dillon! have you ever used reflective HTV for your shoes? if you have, what would you recommend?
No I haven’t! I’m a painter at heart now so I always prefer that route
Hey Dillon thanks for this video ! I’m curious will this trick work for the stitching around the whole shoe?
If you’re trying to keep the shoe factory white but wanted to do red stitching then yeah you could follow a similar concept

What is a good way to prevent glue residue from the vinyl ruining the paint?
Try heating your vinyl more before removal.

Heyyy am I able to use suede dye for dying Icey soles or does it have to be leather she mixed with sole bright please and thankyou

Hello✌️
i painted a pair on jordan 1's and only on one shoes its some cracking on the toebox - any idea what i might of done wrong ?
Do we need to heat set the paint on the stitching, or is the 2soft only to thin out the paint to seep into the right area? 🤔
No you don’t need to
I have had trouble with the other stitching like around the swoosh) getting crusty and paint build up. How do I fix or avoid this?
That can happen with just too many coats done by hand, but way less likely if you’re airbrushing..
Is it fine if i prep some shoes let them sit for a week or longer then start painting
Yes won’t be an issue
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear thank u!!!! I was also wondering if i should use finisher or some water and stain repellent on canvas shoes after

Give it a shot! I always just want to make sure i hit every nook and cranny and the cleanup isn’t too bad
Why not do this step first before you start the full custom
You can absolutely do that. Sometimes stitching might be a last minute detail where you decide breaking up the white midsole will enhance your theme
first
DO NOT use this method with dark colors like purple, it completely ruined my custom shoes and there was a faint purple glow all around even after going around MULTIPLE times with acetone!!!!!
