When Chaka Khan came to Korea to do a USO tour I was stationed at Kusan AB, I was her security person went everywhere with her until she left. Great concert, wonderful person..
Prince worshipped her, he said she was his muse. He wrote I Feel For You for her, they performed together, he just loved her. I grew up listening to her, everyone loves her
Yes indeed! I was 16 when Chaka Khan released "I'm Every Woman". Loved that song. Still do. In 1992, Whitney did a great remake...but, then again, who would expect any less from her? ❤❤❤
Check out her songs with the band RUFUS. "TELL ME SOMETHIN' GOOD and "YOU'VE GOT THE LOVE", were hits of the 70s. "NIGHTS IN TUNISIA" is another great song of hers.
Sorry you were not around in the late 80's when Dance Clubs RULED and this was Must Play Music!!! MAGIC!!! Smiles and Goose Bumps every time I hear it!
Chaka Khan was part of the good Rufus and they had a ton of bangers from the 70s. Tell Me Something Good, Do You Love What You Feel, Everlasting Love, Sweet Thing and Once You Get Started just to name a few!
Chaka Khan was about to quit with the record company that signed her because she had enough, but the CEO told her to do one (or a couple of) more song(s). And strangely enough, Ain't Nobody was the best song she ever made.
You know how a song will take you back. This takes me back to an exciting time... being young, out in the world for the first time (age 19 - I'm 57 now), falling in love for the first time. So many great things were happening when this song came out and it gives me such a feeling of nostalgia.
Man this song brings back so many good memories. This song was responsible for so many impromptu parking lot dance sessions on a Friday and Saturday night it's crazy. And it still make me wanna dance all these years later.
You should listen to "Tell Me Something Good" its very early Chaka Khan 1974. It's funky! Asia..I'm sure your Mother being a fan of hers loves that one.
From her breakout with Rufus, till today. I’ve never come across anyone who doesn’t love or respect her talent and her music. Her appeal is vast. Keep mining her stuff, it’s all good.👌
Honey, it was a pleasure listening to one of my favorite Chaka Khan tunes while looking at your wonderful smile. Asia, you have it. A beautiful smile. Thanks.
I'm an 80s child! This is my favorite song from her. I loved the movie from the 80s titled "Breakin'". This was the song from the "Love connection scene". Song is amazing ...her voice is amazimg..she is amazing...loved the movie. "I FEEL FOR YOU" is another fav. It was written by Prince but also, the video had the cast of the movie "Breakin" doin their thing in the video. Love the 80s
Chaka Khan's "I feel for you" is originally a Prince song. Claude Nougaro was influenced by "Ain't nobody" when he wrote "Lady Liberty". The overall production of this song (feat Nile Rodgrs from Chic) is insane. He's even calling her for help in the song "Rhythm' flouze".
Chaka is the queen! "Sweet Thing" is my favorite Chaka song. Actually, one of my top 3 favorite songs ever! Mary J. Blige has a beautiful version as well.
BJ had it right - She's a QUEEN! 🤩 Please do more!! Please 🙏🏻 🌟"I Feel For You" (written by Prince for her) 🌟"Tell Me Something Good" w/Rufus 🌟"I'm Every Woman" 🌟"Sweet Thing" w/Rufus 🌟"Through The Fire"
Chaka, 5 decades. Windy city girl. Confession: never missed a live show. Me & my lady have front row center seats. I bought Chaka a dozen roses to give to her. My lady saw them in the back seat and said " Aww , thank you".( What could I say). I had to buy twelve single roses from a vendor. My woman asked do you want Chaka? I said no , this is complementary to her work. I still have that picture of Chaka on stage with my rose's.
You should have been in the club scene in the Village NYC circa 1976-1982. Paradise Garage and Larry Levan the Godfather of ALL TODAY'S DJs. All of them wanted to play like Larry. The Garage had speakers designed by Larry and Richard Long (R.I.P. for both of them) Larry had an ear and knew just where to place them. Honey, this song. Those speakers O.M.G The bass went through your whole body like a heartbeat and those speakers did justice to this song. Sorry for the seque, just listening to this song brings me back to those days when I was so young and dancing 12pm to 12am at the Paradise Garage
Listen, I fucking love Chaka Khan period!! This woman is everything! I’m 54 years old, I grew up, listening to her I have a 15-year-old daughter, and she knows all of her music because I listen to Chaka Khan so much. By the way, when she was little, her pediatrician was Dr. Khan. And my daughter used to call her Chaka Khan. She loved that she used to laugh whenever she called her Chaka Khan.
I was in boot camp when I first heard this song. It had just been released. I had guard watch one night in August 1983 and 1st time hearing it thru the drill instructors door in the barracks in San Diego CA. Drill instructor had the radio on. I knew it was chaka khan before the song ended but the dj hadn't verified it yet. I Was already a fan after Tell me something good. Ain't nobody was written by David Hawk Wolinzky and was on the last Rufus featuring Chaka khan live album. It's still holds incredible after all this time. Not about hate and killing like what you hear now. The new music today can't hold a candle to the 70s and 80s music. Just saying 😌
Check out where she plays like her first three solo projects. Clouds, papillon, what you gonna do for me, some love, everything I do. There are plenty to show why she is the queen of funk.
What a track heard a female singer at a local bar in UK sing this she absolutely smashed it out the park. She had whole bar rocking and singing fantastic the vibe those vocals, it has no peers 😬😬
I saw her and Rufus perform " Tell Me Something Good" on TV when I was a kid in the seventies and that song came out. Been in love every since. One of the greats. Truly unique, and unmistakable. Amazing. Legend. I got her greatest hits CD a few years back, one of my go to's. Oh, and just stunningly beautiful.
I can remember this song from the soundtrack for the movie “Breakdance”, although I think it was called Breakin’ in the US in the early 80’s (‘84 if I recall correctly). It was the movie that had a scene that featured a very young Jean Claude Van Damme, but you had to look very carefully to spot him ☝️😄. Chaka is a soul legend & this is one of her best ever songs ✊️😄
Chaka had a gig in bonn/ germany and stayed at hotel were I was as a waiter, signed my cd booklet from the Album I feeling for you…priceless memories🇪🇸👍🎼🎙
Wow you've actually reacted to it,over the years i have loved soo many songs where you just play them over and over untill you get sick of them for a while and give them a break but out of all the songs it's ain't nobody that i for some reason can't get fed up with hearing,it is such a well put together track and it all fits perfectly from the rolly bass to the electric guitar and keyboards and then Chaka Khan, this is my song because of that reason and it doesn't seem to age at all, absolutely love it soo much, isn't it amazing what humans can do,genius❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥,i feel for you with the legend grandmaster melle mel and through the fire were also classic ❤️🏴

Whitney has named Chaka as one of her influences, and of course Whitney remade "I'm every woman, in homage to Chaka and that song.
