90% of British people born in the mid/late 80s were conceived with Sade providing the background music !
Yes Diamond Life was the go to "seduction" album of the 80's.
I’m in the U.S. and I was about to post that any Sade CD was a panty dropper. It sure helped me back in the day.
@@billybee3423 My older brother swore by Isaac Hayes Hot Buttered Soul as the 70's equivalent.
That is no joke.
United States as well… No Ordinary Love
This woman is a LEGEND!!!! She is just amazing. Always amazing.
Greatest female voice of all time, her voice is angelic
She was born in Nigeria and has sold over 60_million album's, love her classy looks and smooth delivery. Sweetest Taboo is my favorite.
Update: 75 million worldwide
Sweetest Taboo is such a jam
My favourite is Is It A Crime? , but yeah, can't go wrong with either
She went to my school in Essex england
Nigeria or Ethiopia?
The epitome of class and style...I think she could probably make anyone fall in love with her. That voice is unlike any other.
silky smooth it's irresistible
she is the best example: you dont have to lock like a btch to have success...
Sade was born in Nigeria and moved to England aged 4. So we count her as British ! She's twice been honoured by The Queen for services to music.
Her Mother WAS British
@@arts872 Yep, her mom is a white English lady lol
She went to my school
No, we "count her a British" because she IS British.
@@Darrell7777 us brothers be getting down all over the world 🤣🤣🤣
This band was awesome live. That's when you really get to appreciate how good her rhythm section is. The bass lines in this are beautiful.
I really like this lady
Yeah, she’s always had the best musicians around her.
"Sweetest Taboo" and "No Ordinary Love" next please!!!!
Yeah …The Sweetest Taboo (official live video from San Diego) 🔥
ahh No Ordinary Love good one
perfect choices. no ordinary love is my favorite sade song.
Is it a crime?
Sade sings to men.
All men are in love with her.
No lies detected.
you just stumbled onto the smoothest, jazziest and sexiest Jazz/Pop group of the 80's an 90's. Nice! They have SO many songs that were huge hits. Saw her in concert in 1992, just amazing! Smooth Operator was probably their biggest hit. So many memories tied to Sade, she is just the background voice of many moments of my life, probably for other people as well.
Scary thing is. She sounds even better live. Seen her many times. She's just as sweet in person as her voice is.
Never saw Sade live but did watch/listen to a recording from one of her live shows played on a high end sound system; you're right she sounded more amazing.
I've seen hundreds of live shows but sad to say never saw Sade
Best concert I ever saw and I have been to over 100's of shows
Sade the greatest! Please do more of her music. She’s unmatched like FORREAL! CHERISH THE DAY
Sade is pure class. Saw her way back in the day at Ronnie Scott's club in Soho. That's the real Soho in London. All her albums are really exceptionally good.
Ronnie Scott's is on my bucket list for sure.
@@josephgallagher945 It's well worth going to.
I immediately think of Mr. Video when I see this, and miss his music reactions. His ongoing crush was always so fun to watch. The Sade pillow was classic.
Yes!!! He fell in love 😅😍
I miss that guy!
For her work in music, she was awarded the CBE( Commander British Empire ). 1 step below Dame (Knighthood). Great song!
Fell in love with her voice the first time I heard her decades ago..... and thats never changed.
Is it a Crime that you don’t know who Sade is? I say yes it is… Sade is fantastic.
I've always said Sade has a "champagne voice". Not sure where I came up with that but it suits her so well.
Sade is ultimate baby making music 🎶 highly recommend your love is king
There is truly only one Sade. The smooth, soulful, classic voice from a woman of total elegance, grace and class. Love her music. No Ordinary Love should be your next.
I absolutely adore Sade! She is smooth, jazzy, and her voice is like silk! Sade is a British artist she had many many hits in the eighties and nineties! Check out some of her other hits like, Sweetest Taboo, Is It A Crime, No Ordinary Love, Cherish The Day, Kiss of Life, and many more! She is a vibe and is played when I’m alone with my guy!❤️❤️
Summer vibes, car windows wound down, a young engineer driving home to west London mid 80's, Sade's ethereal, yearning voice making everything right
Careful now, this be some baby makin music right here.
Lol couch gang might be 3 deep by next summer!
She was Born in Nigeria but brought up in London England, Nigeria is an ex British Colony just like America. LOL.
So many classics from Sade "Jezebel", "Fear", "The Sweetest Taboo", "Is It A Crime", "Kiss Of Life", "King Of Sorrow", "Paradise", "Hang On To Your Love", "Nothing Can Come Between Us", "Pearls"...
She was sampled by so many, MF Doom, Mobb Deep, 9th Wonder, Kool Keith
Sade was the bomb back in the day.
Still is for some of us..
Still is. Like a fine wine.
She still is
Sade is just amazing! All her albums are pure class. I''m waiting anxiously for their new record.
"Kiss of Life" "No Ordinary Love"
Honestly, this band had hit after hit! Dive into the rabbit hole, you won't be disappointed.
I remember in the mid 80s I was in High School up in Sacramento. My best friend and I were out by the river, we went into a bar/diner to eat a burger and fries. You could tell there was some grumpy biker dudes that were regulars to that place. On the juke box this song came on and they were bitching about that song. When we were finishing eating my friend Mike loaded a $5 into the juke box, he selected Slow ride, then spent the rest on smooth operator 19 times it was 25 cents per song. We left during slow ride 🤣. This song always reminds me of that moment.
She and her music are legendary!! Definitely worth exploring her whole catalogue of music!
Adele, Sade, Amy......Brit girls are tops.
A few weeks ago I had an operation and they were playing it in the OR when I walked in. No joke.
“Never as Good as the First Time”, “By Your Side” & No Ordinary Love” & “ Sweetest Taboo” are my favourites…❤️
I feel for those who didn't grow up in this era of Music. We can't explain it, you just have to keep listening.💯👍🏾
Briefly met her in 1988... I was on tour with a thrash band, she was on tour in St. Louis. She stepped onto the hotel elevator we were on. A beautiful woman and we were a motley crew, to say the least. I immediately recognized her because this song was such a huge MTV hit when I was in high school. She was with her guitar player... they were both interested in our story, an immediate respect for another touring band, even if on the opposite end of the musical spectrum.
Now do Buffalo Stance by Neneh Cherry. More 80's pop would be fun.
The “coast to coast LA to Chicago” line is fire
She was my favorite pop diva of the eighties. That voice is silky smooth.
Sade is the band's name, her name his Helen Folasade Adu, more commonly known as Sade Adu (pronounced "Shadei"). ; )
Brad, intro was epic!! Be glad Lex told you how to say her name & you didn't have to read 500 comments spelling it out phonetically to you like all other reactors. Do "No Ordinary Love" next...
Sade - By Your Side! This woman is a goddess!!
I loved this song back in the day. I was 24. I still love her stuff.
I had a male friend that was really a looker dude, and this song always made me think of him. A great song. Love that sax.
Lex nailed it! Definitely had a sort of Caribean tropicicana type feel where the idea of casino's and cruise ships come to mind! Miami feel as well!
You need her Promise album in general. Sweetest Taboo, Never As Good As The First Time, You're Not The Man, Fear, Jezebel, Is It A Crime and Mr Wrong are all epic songs.
The Promise album came out the year I was born, 1985, I grew up on Sade.
What a beautiful voice!
Really enjoy watching you two. Figure it’s a combination of Brad’s search for meaning and Lex’s visceral reaction, all under a nostalgic haze allowing me to vicariously hear these songs again for the first time through you. Thank you!
They're basically my right brain and left brain if those were people.
brings back memories.. she was on all the time in the 80's... the background music in every cafe, fashion store etc etc
Sade is a queen forever. Will always love everything Sade.
Her voice was everywhere for two decades.
Sade aka Shawday is my woman. One my favorite artist. Her catalog of music is really good.
Always was an awesome song I'm 59 still love this song CLASSSSS.
I could listen to her sing the telephone book and be mesmerized. Such a sultry and sexy voice.
Sade legit my biggest music crush. She's still stunning and they are such a wonderful band, I hope they come out with another album (or tour) someday soon...
Sade is eve ry thing uh! Super talented, beautiful voice and one ofthe most beautiful women in the world along with an amazing band. Her bass player is one of the all time best, periodt!
Sade was our soundtrack when going home from Miami Beach clubs at 3-4am. Soothing. Restorative
She’s right it definitely has a tropical, Miami vice feel to it. You nailed it Lex
i think of this kind of song as lounge music.. anything thats classy, chill, and what you want to listen to when lounging around having a drink and smoking a cig with style
Have you ever heard of the concept that "No one will ever know that we did this wild, unusual thing on vacation because we are so far away from home!" Lex is talking about the fact that certain situations seem quite detached from normal, average life. Therefore, no one would know that you were naughty or unfaithful. One of these situations is a cruise ship. One of these places is a casino or a hotel room connected to the casino.
Sade and my linguini and clam sauce… that was getting busy date night.
Everybody had a crush on this Beautiful Nigerian Queen. I still do
Always good to teach the hubby who is the original singer of a song!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 We all learn something new every day!!!!! That’s why we get out of bed everyday!!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!!! 😎🍸
Thanks guys!
Sadé is one of the 'voice of a generation' and sooo velvety smooth.
Talented, gorgeous ... what's left to say?
Gorgeous woman with the voice to match...good Sunday "hangover" music.
No Ordinary Love, Cherish The Day, Sweetest Taboo... Stunning x
Thanks for reacting to this video. Sade is a marvel; voice like silk, very low key, and during the 80's she was one of the top models in the world. It's one of my favorite songs.
Sade is so "smooth" her music is great. "Your Love Is King" and "Sweetest Taboo" are a few of her other hits that I've enjoyed. Thanks for this reaction. This was circa 1985.
Quite possibly the finest “everything” from pretty much any generation. Beautiful in every aspect.
Sade has some of the best music out there when you’re in the mood to chill and relax. “Smooth Operator” is actually one of my least favorite. Check out “Your Love Is King”, “Kiss Of Life”, “Love is Stronger Than Pride”, “No Ordinary Love”, and “The Sweetest Taboo”.
I agree. I was and still do love heavy metal but back in the day my friend turned me onto Sade.
Paradise is another good one
I have been in love with this woman for decades. Somehow l got old and she is still stunning.
Mom's music. - Lex, I definitely listen to this back in the 80s
Shes so amazing with so many great songs
Freshman year at IU Bloomington. And this song was my go to with any female I cared about. Worked both ways.
Sade is legend man. This shit goes hard. A whole world of music from the 80s that these new cats don’t know about. There’s gold out there
This song is a whole magic spell
Lex always hitting on all cylinders. Sipping cocktails on the 18+ casino boat swaying to Sade grooves and drawing jack's and aces.
Sophia Loren was my first crush as a child.....but as soon as Sade started making music all of that changed.
Sade has been my fantasy crush for my entire, long life
When this came out The Face magazine was gaga over a band called Working Week (Never heard any of their songs), Everything But the Girl (Long before "Missing" came out) and Sade.
I first heard her on the venerable New Wave station KROQ before R&B and pop stations picked her up.
Bryan Ferry (of Roxy Music) and Paul Weller (of The Jam) also had done smooth songs about the same time this came out.
Sade killed Live Aid singing "Tell Me Why".
And yeah, full lips, big forehead and all - she was (is) gorgeous!!!
You could spend all next year reacting to all her stuff. Heavenly.
Beautiful song
Sade’s talent - and her husband’s talent - were a gift to humanity (n a rare coincidence)
She has a Sweet Silky Voice you can NEVER Forget!!! TRUELY AMAZING!! 👍💯💜😁
Thank you for finally reacting to Sade! The woman version of Seal IMO. Both artists have such a vast array of quality music. Would love to see more of your reactions to both Seal and Sade. Please react to Seal's live in Paris version of Deep Water.
Best concert I ever saw and I have been to 100's of shows
The Miami Sound Machine featuring Gloria Estefan was popular in the 80's and led to the Latin explosion in the late 90's beginning with Santana's Supernatural album and a multiplatinum Grammy winner.
yall need to video of her performing live, is Epic, and she is adorable, so sensuous and just seemed real, great react!
Helen Sade Adu is a straight up QUEEN. Every song the woman put out is bad to the bone
What a silky smooth beautiful voice❤️
It has a very Brazilian jazz vibe to it, it’s such a beautiful song.
Watching Lex smile and groove to a tune makes my day!
the sweetest gift is an incredible song by her.
Sade is my biggest crush! Love her music...more . more!
She still looks and sounds great today at 63. So many hits and such a great band too. Been playing since the 80's. Sade Adu from Nigeria.
Love me some Sade. I have seen and worked thousands of shows . She was one of the best for sure . Like Silk and Sleeping Bags comfortable
Haha moms music: makes me feel old 😆
Love the 80's!!
Sade made some more great hits!
Thx for reacting!
🎤🎶💜
SADE=GOLD. So sad we grew uo in the 80s thinking all this music was 'normal'. I wish everyday I could go back
Fancy getting smooth operator and smooth criminal mixed up. What a dope.
One of my first celebrity crushes. Beautiful woman.
Your relentless smile throughout the reaction -
Sade is nice jazzy music. Great voice. Always liked her. Pretty woman too.
The ultimate wedding song is By Your Side, by Sade. I’m a little biased since that was our wedding song lol!!
