@@tomrogers9467yup 15 or 20 years ago that wouldn't be a big deal at all but not with the electronics and emissions on today's diesels! We still run a tractor on the farm that went for a swim brush hogging around the pond !!! Drained the fluids and a good service she was running the next day
@@tomrogers9467that isn’t a todays machine. That’s a 430. That’s about 15 years old at the newest. They still had alot of electronics then even. My 22 year old cat skid loader has 2 ECMs And a mess of wiring, solenoids and other electronic crap. A 90s machine or older you could pull out of the water and have running like nothing within a few hours.
I helped a friend of mine a few years ago recover a 45,000 pound rental excavator from a pond had a 50 ton rotater and a 35 ton on it and we had a hell’uva time getting it out. The rental company was not impressed by any means
@@WilcoxGarageRecovery what was really bad the guy who rented it tried shutting his card off. The water was covering the engine compartment completely destroyed the machine with only 300 hours on it. He basically just bought a junk excavator
I so much want to comment on Tads towel but I’ll let it go! I’m sure somewhere on that excavator it says do not submerge in water! Good job as usual waiting for the next one take care WG!
Man, how would you like to make that phone call back to the rental store?! Hope he opted for the rental liability insurance, that would suck. Nice job as always, keep em coming!👊
Nice one, Very unfort. for those people to dunk it like that, too close to the edge etc.. As Ron Pratt says : The Arc Nemesis was a factor..... 1st watch of channel, Like the green colors & the fenders on the truck.
Ron Pratt is another good channel too. Pepe's down in Cali is another - really busy with the rotators too....like daily almost with all the drivers tipping over every dump truck & trailer around. 😂👍🏻👌🏻 ✊🏻🇺🇸🦅
You can see by the track prints that whoever was driving wasn't paying attention. That's why I don't lend my tools and equipment out. I know this is a rental. I had a friend stick 2 D4 Cats in the mud up in the mountain. It took a semi wrecker to get one out. It took a D7 to get the other. All in the name of helping a couple of stuck kids. This was 70 miles out of town and 3 miles down a dirt road on the Mexican border. Now that was fun.
The rumor is true that Bobcats can't swim LOL .. Great recovery job easy pickings for the 50 ton as for the homeowner he has a lot explaining to do Monday morning to the Rental Co. By chance did the operator using the mini excavator go for a swim ??? Hey take care looking forward to the next video
We will respectfully decline to give dollar figures of posted recoveries. It's not as high as many people would like to believe just because a rotator is on scene though.
A very wise man once said that it's safer to drive a car over a bridge with your seat belt unbuckled, in case you end up in the water. Should that logic also be applied when operating an excavator near a body of water?
Back in the 80’s at Oakbrook country club in Oakbrook I’ll. Some kids stole a golf cart and drove into the 12 ft. deep diving pool. It was 90degrees out. We couldn’t get on pool deck so I had to lift with one Holmes 600 and adjust the cart to get it off the coping brought another 600 across the 5he rough and lifted it out. Then a couple years later.Chi Chi Rodriquez got hit by lightning during tournament. Next day a news Cessna clipped the top of a tree and crashed. I went out with a 750 and put it on a trailer for the FAA. God I miss towing…….Sorry old operator just babbling.
I know accidents happen and everything but to run an excavator on slippery mud with your tracks parallel to the pond is asking for trouble .i run equipment all day everyday and am yet to slide one into a pond ! Thats just lack of experience and its going to be very costly this time !! He coulda hired a professional and got more work done nicer finished product and not have to buy a ruined mini at the end
If that was my rental machine I would ban that homeowner from my rental house now forever too....thatsgoing to cost them over 60 grand to fix now .....have had thet happen to over 100 times now and not liking ttoo...
Insurance claim & right to Ritchie brothers auctions. That's why they pay insurance. The renter\'operator' is the one who's gonna get sued or pay out the @_s.😆🤦🏻♂️🤔🤷🏻♂️ ✊🏻🇺🇸🦅
It won't be that. I've seen it time after time here. First thing you do drain everything replace all filters. The biggest thing is get all the water and oil out of that kubota engine. Once they tip their notorious for bending rods. Just take out the injectors and turn it over to get everything out of cylinders. Go back with a complete service and it will most likely be perfectly fine. Been down this road before.
We actually heard that they drained and changed all fluids and filters, and it started up and ran fine. I believe they were going to change the computer boards as well for precaution
What a disaster leave it in the air and pull the dipper lever so to let the bucket in then pick it up and load it so you can take it to the shop so the mechanics can get it working again if it did not hydro lock the engine wow no equipment operator on site
The bucket/ arm would not come down by itself by just pulling the levers and letting gravity work. We loosened the line and contained the hydraulic oil to get the arm to bleed off and come down. The following week Bobcat mechanics came and drained and replaced all fluids and filters, and were able to get the machine running again.
The movement may be magnified slightly because the camera is on the tip of the bill of the hat...Hard to think about moving my head slower when working a recovery though
I really like how you talk to your staff
You seem to treat people that comment the same way
Very respectful
Thanks for sharing
Thank you, friend!
Flood damage isnt covered in equipment renatal insurance. More than likely that renter just bought a bobcat mini.
Hey I'll buy it right now as is !
Wonder about how much that cost, to recover that escavator?
Great job.... the rotator made it look easy.
Once again, the rotator proves it's worth. Nicely done.
Job well done guys
Keep up the good work
Someone’s gonna have some’splaining to do tomorrow. Hopefully they had insurance. Nice fishing video
Watching these recovery shows tells me you guys major in physics and geometry. Towing is just a by product!
Nice recovery. Thanks for sharing and stay safe
Thank you! Hope all is well in SC 👍🏻
Nice fishing show . Pull the air filter and injectors have it running tomorrow rental company will never know
Not a chance with all the electronics on today’s machines! Going to be tens of thousands to replace everything.

Thanks Sean!
Hope they took out the extra insurance
That poor Bobcat 😢😢
I don't always operate a excavator but when I do I try to clean it for the insurance company😂😂😂😂
I always wash off my rental Eq. before I return it but that looks like a little much.
That went well!! Can't say much about the outcome of the mini ex.. it will be pricey... $$$$.¢¢😮😢😊
Tad and the pink towel 😂😂

Uhhh, Did you have to pay him extra to get into that green goop? And what is that anyway?
It was the owners open air sewer system LOL
He should get a bonus!
I'm guessing it was an algae bloom with the high heat and no water circulation / aeration in the pond.
No, people put dyes in their ponds to make them that color

Those little excavators look to be awkward lifts. Nice job.
Coming to an auction near you
Riding around the edge of the pond with the bucket as high and out as far as it can go makes no sense. No wonder it took a swim.
Now he says he’s too old.

Yes, I believe he said he bailed off into the pond. Luckily he didn't get hurt, as I have heard of other instances where operators weren't so lucky.
Just curious what is the total bill on this recovery?
We will respectfully decline to give dollar figures of posted recoveries. It's not as high as many people would like to believe just because a rotator is on scene though.
You have to be smarter then the machine to run it
Well thats an oooppsie for sure!😂😂🤦🏻♂️👍🏻👌🏻🤣

That's some solid advice 👍🏻
Overkill
I do think the rental company meant that much washing, When they said to return it in a clean condition.
What a mess!
I hope they had the rental company damage insurance on it
Watched 4 minutes. Got dizzy with the camera swinging and jerking around. Went on to another channel.
Yeah, same here.....went over and watched an hour video of Ron Pratts instead. So much better than these guys....

Thanks for sharing! Different times back then and equipment that actually made the operator work and think a little bit harder how to do the recovery
The heck did you swing the thing? Is that electric driven, and there was enough in the batteries?
We winched the swing drive around slowly while operating the control to let oil bypass
Darn getting dizzy you need a tripod
WOW 😲😳 what and the World 🌎 Was that person doing too turn over that excavator Hmm 🧐🤔 !
They must be getting paid by the hour

No gators up your way...right...? Thanks.
Not unless they have one for a pet 😂
darn drunk done run the thing right off the edge.. old does not have anything to do with it.
I think you said you thought it weight was about ten tonnes you were way off more likely 3 to 4 , or do you charge by the tonnes
If I said it, I meant 10,000 lbs, given a little bit higher of an estimate due to being water logged.
If that was my rental machine I would ban that homeowner from my rental house now forever too....thatsgoing to cost them over 60 grand to fix now .....have had thet happen to over 100 times now and not liking ttoo...

Anyone can operate a mini, right? Why anyone would track that close to an edge is beyond me..renter most likely bought that.
Is the machine trash now?

Looking at the track marks next to the edge, the operator was an idiot..those damages should be out of pocket…
I doubt the rental insurance covers underwater work. Looks like he just drove the machine right off the edge! Bubba just bought hisself an excavator!
camera work was making me sick all that swinging so i wont look at all the video
O
Put it on a trailer take it back to the rental yard and say were done with it.
The jerky camera movements make me nauseous.
That's because the camera is on his head so we see what he is looking at
The movement may be magnified slightly because the camera is on the tip of the bill of the hat...Hard to think about moving my head slower when working a recovery though
Ŵhoe, overkill, guy sure is making a living using big equipment for a very little job.
You're right, couldv'e pulled that bad boy out with a Troy Bilt lawn mower and a shoe string 👍🏻
