    Totally agree, got the MA1 2 weeks ago and it has been working flawlessly. Also I find after a few connections it loads even faster, like 15 seconds.

    Hi, I bought the Motorola MA1 in Target Store when I was in US last year, I've been using it in my EV6 for about 6 months and never had a problem. It's fantastic , also love all your shows

      Cheers. I probably would have got this when i had my car in November 2021 but they were extremely hard to get back then. They were always sold out. Probably due to pandemic chip shortages.

    That looks really interesting. I got a Auto Pi from DIMO for my EV6. It's basically a Raspberry Pi, with Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, GSM, that plugs into the OBD2 port. I'm thinking this could be the bases of something similar.

    Interesting you've had those issues with the Carsifi. Mine virtually never drops out or has issues. Just curious, was yours mounted before or was it more loose? Mine is stuck with double sided tape so it never moves or wiggles the cable. Also, how does the MA1 handle multiple phones?

    • @evodessey

      It was stuck wedged in the same place as the MA1. I only have one phone connected so i will have to try it.

    I was just thinking which adapter I should buy for my EV6 (which I plan to pick up in August) and suddenly your video popped up 😂
    Could you please tell me where I can find the link to your table with the recent software and hardware updates the car should already have upon pickup?
    Thanks so much for your great videos! It will be the first time that I will be familiar with a new car already during the first ride 😍

That table of updates is in several videos but i will also put a link to it in my about section of my channel. Here it is. drive.google.com/file/d/1HZRtua3QNo78JD8OSOfqND3T71aC90az/view?usp=drivesdk

    I'm following this video and I'm curious on other EV6 owner reviews on the Motorola MA1. I bought it myself 2 weeks ago because my previous adapter dropped out all the time. Must say that this MA1 adapter is much better, BUT is also not working flawless since it still have a drop out now and then. It reconnects very quickly, that is the good news. And for what it is worth, I have a pretty new Phone (Samsung S22 Ultra) with all the latest google updates installed.

      So yesterday I faced the problem that the MA1 didn't work at all. After working the last couple weeks flawlessly. Phone was constantly trying to connect but nothing happened. MA1 still did get power, it seemed connected with Phone but Phone projection didn't showed android auto.
      Even tried with a USB cable and that didn't work either. Did some investigation on the internet and found the solution! Just wanted to share that with you. Apparently alot of folks have (had) problems with the usb cables inside the console. Found a fix on youtube and tried it today. Problem fixed! MA1 is working again! I've just unplugged the white and blue connecter as showed in the video and firmly put them back in. That was it! 5 min job.

    I imagine when it's left plugged in, by the time the head unit and profile selection has sorted itself out, the ma1 will have already booted. So the time to connect might not be noticeable?

    • @evodessey
      @evodessey  Год назад +1

      I think that’s true.

  • @teamnotleafy6887
    @teamnotleafy6887 Год назад

    I have an MA1 and it was ridiculously easy to install. It isn't perfect, sometmes it doesn't connect, probably 1 time in 20 and sometimes it takes a bit longer to connect than 30 seconds but it has never dropped out or had any problems once the car's screen shows Android Auto. When it doesn't connect I just pull it out, plug it back in and that always fixes it. Whether Android Auto is worth it, I'm not so sure. It's great for reading texts and playing music (although the music apps annoy me - why can't I just play albums?) but the Nav, while in the top 3, misses out on showing directions in the HUD plus the charger locations. I also find it hard to exit AA back to the KIA screens, it often takes 2 or 3 taps.

    I thought the EV6 was supposed to have a Wi-Fi connector or is that something of the past

    • @evodessey
      @evodessey  Год назад +1

      It does have a Wi-fi chipset but because of the cost of licensing (so the rumour goes )on large screens neither Kia (or Hyundai) have enabled it on Gen5W head units.

    • @evodessey

    that error you will also get it with the m1a, how do i know? because i own the motorola and get the error. That errror happens when you disconnect the phone from AA (not the adapter) but once you reconnect the message is gone and yes it will keep the connection so you do not have to restart the adapter 😆Actually the manual tells you to connect your phone to AA using a cable, then disconnect the cable and plug the adapter.

      I did another video on how long it stays on. It wakes up if you do Kia Connect for 10 minutes and stays on 10 minutes or more after you have locked the car. I just unplug mine to save my 12v battery. It’s the fault of the cars management of the USB port. In theory you can leave it in but it’s a pain when it keeps connecting to your phone.
