Working on student guitars for years, the worst thing was having squire tuners break out of nowhere. I started to take them off, and looked at where the broken one broke but on the other clean tuners under a microscope, and they were all cracked. I was so frustrated, I just installed some fender locking tuners for free.
My problem with Squier is that personally, I find guitars like the Yamaha Pacificas and Cort G Series have just as good, if not better, build quality at a cheaper price. Also, if you save up a bit more, you can go for G&L Tribute Series, which has the same pickups and trems as a USA G&L.
@@everysingleguitars Well, Cort builds a lot of Squiers and a whole lot of other brands (Ibanez, PRS SE, G&L Tribute, etc.), so the quality of a Cort guitar should be in the same ballpark as a guitar from those brands
This guitar isn't bad only because it's anniversary edition. I've played 2 Affinity strats once and both sucked little bit. Sharp frets, didn't stay in tune, cheap pickups. If beginner would buy one of those, he will 100% quit playing because learning would be nightmare. Good Squiers starts from Classic Vibe 50s and Standard (i think no longer in production)
dunno, i enjoyed it. the squier strat got me rly into playing electric guitar. i was a beginner then so i didnt even think of the frets/pickups/etc. i just wanted to learn how to play and it did the job fine

Yeah stock tuners are a must replace, i agree

agreed. yamaha pacific is a great starter guitar too. never tried a Cort G series though.

-file frets, upgrade tuners/pickups, to HSS - easy, no problem
not what I experienced with my affinity strat..I dig em'..
