LW2 is one of the greatest sequels ever made. I saw it opening weekend in 70mm blow up and in a packed house the audience loved it as did i. The magic of summer of '89 with Last Crusade , Batman , LW2 and more. they don't have great summers like that anymore .

_Weekend at Bernie's_ is a guilty pleasure; both the original and its sequel.
Sure, they're stupid, but they're not crass nor vulgar nor gratuitous nor obnoxious nor mean-spirited. Weekend at Bernie's is clean, stupid fun; basically, like _The Three Stooges._

    • @LodgeNet99

Agreed! The sequel is very nostalgic for me. It also has the added benefit of being a Virgin Islands travelogue of the early 90s 😍

I think Siskel and Ebert think it's morally bankrupt because the film makes mistreating a corpse the subject of humor. Bernie is a mobster who was murdered, but he was still a human being, and I think that rubs them raw though they wouldn't say it as such.

    • @alexthompson9516

I love "Weekend at Bernie's" but it's totally gratuitous! It just goes on and on until you find yourself shouting, "Bernie is DEAD, you idiots!"

KK3 if the writer had gotten his way, the film would have continued in Okinawa, and explored the origins of Karate, with sequences the writer described as being like Crouching Tiger Hidden Tiger.

I still think Weekend at Bernies is good, having to constantly prop up a corpse is hilarious! I just had a big LOL at 15:31 !
It's kind of funniest the first time and then wears thin, the sequel certainly proves that, one of the worst movies ever.

Liked Lethal Weapon 2 but I liked Lethal Weapon 3 more because Riggs meets his match in a stronger woman. Weekend at Bernies was really stupid and the only reason I watched was my crush on Andrew McCarthy. Karate Kid Part 3 was a big letdown though I agree that the villain was fantastic and he makes an appearance on Cobra Kai and is just as evil.
