10:10 I think in the cluck’n’bell heist that there were a few potential drives that were skipped with a black screen. You were just warped to the event. It had not released at the time I recorded this but they were not exactly huge.

As for having to add people as associates, you think it's a bigger problem than it is. If you're doing something in free mode, even prep, you need associates. If it's a job/mission, you can invite them directly to the job/mission, although your associates will be given the option to join any job/mission you start. I also thought it was funny how you always complained about the hard way to use snacks and armor instead of using the easy way the whole time (in the weapon wheel)

I genuinely love gta online, but the bugs, glitches, modders, the fact that you can't solo heists just ruins it for me
It’s online, you’re supposed to do it with other players. That’s the point of ONLINE

@AcHaeC Why do missions have to be done with other people, though? It is online, yes, which is why there are online sessions, but we should still be able to have the ability to play missions and heists alone if we want to... Personally I don't like to play missions with other people, especially when the other people aren't good at the game, so it's just constant failing and having to restart the mission and on top of that if you don't already have people to play with there is almost always a massive wait time in the mission lobby waiting for enough people to join the mission!!!

I get 1m per hour and think that's a massive amount of money. Can't understand why people are so criticized about these nerfs. They even say guards can see bodies is a nerf, like wtf? Isn't that realistic? I can only imagine cayo perico back then is like a long cake walk to 1.5 million every 2 hours.

How about making the Cayo heist harder? Increase amount of guards, health, loot etc. Instead of lowering the value of the loot. They always take the easy way out.

Yeah and the worst thing about this is Matto tried to copyright claim this video and was denied. When he tried to dispute this he was repeatedly met with RUclips's automated replies. It's gotten so bad he's had to hire lawyers to try to get through an actual human employee at RUclips and get the video taken down. Hopefully Matto gets through these hard times 🙏

It's minimal, so you can just listen to the video in the background if you want to, but if you do happen to watch there's enough creative visual gags going on. It doesn't interfere with the commentary whatsoever so you can always stay on track.

I personally think that gta online is a great game but the low amount of security that gta online servers have and the massive amounts of modders make it annoying to play at times

I think it's a terribly made online mode built on top of a game with great base game mechanics that suit online play really well. Speaking as someone with 3500+ hours spent in it I can say that a lot of them were just straight up pain, agony and repetition. If I wasn't autistic I probably couldn't stand the boring drives, repetitive grinding, poorly tacked on online mechanics and terrible menus at all.

We all know GTA VI will have a form of GTA Online, but I REALLY hope its separate binary like the old CoD games were. It would both allow people to easily mod SP without hurting MP, as well as preventing people from hacking your SP games like what happened for a period of time in GTA V speedrunning.

@@AshPuppy GTAV started out at roughly 60GB, and is now in excess of 100GB. I have seen no significant additions to single player content that would explain that jump. For anyone who doesn't care about Online, that's 40GB of wasted space. 🤷♂️

thats how the game works, just dont make a Peer2Peer Game and you have less cheaters, since you can prevent it easier than give every client the highes privileges on their end.

So yesturday there was a 500mb update in GTA 5. It was because Rockstar once again screwed up social club on PC. If you owned the game on Steam, you could occasionally be asked for a 'Steam Key', which you get the first time you launch the game. But entering the Steam Key just showed 'Key already activated', so you would essentially unable to play the game at all. The fix (for me) was to completely close out Steam and Rockstar Launcher, relogin to Rockstar launcher, restart steam and then launch the game, this would fix it. So yeah this was fixed yesturday, but Social Club is and always has been dumb.
I had that happen to me a few months ago. I just quit trying and the next time I went to play it was fixed.
I think changed the 2 step verification before it was just an email now it’s a QR code

Reaction videos are never good. Matt would never do this with any other content creator and for good reason, he's only reacting to this because it's his own content which gives him the right to do so because he already put the work into the video.

Fun fact (at least it was for me): the dice puzzle is not a R* original, they use 3rd party plugin/API for it. Which probably explains why it is required even if you have 2-factor auth. First you do the 3d-party stuff and THEN R* takes over.

I honestly think it they went back and made the original 4 player heists only require 2 players it would honestly be good enough
The biggest issue with the original heists is just getting 4 reliable good people and it's kind of questionable if anything would be lost by cutting 2 roles
Like in the prison heist for example 2 people go into the prison and 1 person flies a plane around and another flies a military helicopter to defend the plane. You could easily cut the plane and helicopter roles and nothing would change
Or in the bank heist, 2 people run crowd control and 2 people go into the vault, you could easily just have 1 person on each
there's basically no way to circumvent Prison Break to be 2P, as it's the only heist with >2 different roles (as in actual different roles that're assigned to completely different tasks, not like Series A Funding's "lookout (south)" and "lookout (north)"), and no, Pacific Standard's hacker and demolition don't really count, as they can indeed be merged into 1 role; Humane Labs Raid should be relatively fine, as you can easily merge ground team and gunner into 1 role and just have another pilot; Series A Funding should also be relatively fine, but the catch should be that if played in 2P there'd only be 1 truck (although that'd still render the technical useless), you'd just need some more micro SMG bullets
and as such, all the other apartment heists **should** be eligible to be redesigned for both 2P and 4P without really altering and/or dumbing down the total amount and variety of tasks, except Prison Break

and if you really care about solving the prison bus "plot hole" you could just have both players steal it on the heist, drive it to where the previously stolen bus is hidden, destroyed it and then take the old bus to the prison
@@DakotaWolf666 wouldn't that count as dumbing down game mechanics, as you're basically cutting down nearly half (evade jet, protect plane) of the tasks? although the military sending out fighter jets to destroy the plane doesn't make even a lick of sense logic-wise (what "air control" was Agent 14 talking about? how did they know this ordinary-looking plane is heading towards the prison? how does this warrant calling Fort Zancudo and requesting jet fighters since normally even flying directly over the prison only gives you 3 stars?) , it's indeed a game mechanic that's already in the heist
@@puzzlefischer1205 I wouldn't consider it to be "dumbing down the game mechanics" because to me it always felt like 2 of the roles on the 4 player heists were kind of forced because they "needed to make the heists 4 player"
and like you said you could just not have the military send in air support because it really doesn't make much sense canonically
@@DakotaWolf666 true, the plane you did steal from the Vagos, and it could be flagged by the police as a smuggling suspect, but at worst they'd send out police helicopters, instead of jet fighters to destroy you with a missile

23:12 you can explore cayo island! when you are in the Mission at the point that your drilling the glass in the basement just spam cancel and go for drilling again around 5 time and you will glitch out of mission
16:00 i definitely agree about the sessions. Just last friday, i made an invite only session with 4 friends, we went to do one race, and then the game kicked us all into different open sessions, 2 of them got instantly force teleported out of their home and griefed by a mod menu user, blowing everyone in the lobby up the moment they respawn, thus stopping them from using the escape menu to join a different session. They had to alt f4 and completely reboot the game, in story mode, while i made another invite lobby.
It would be so easy to just have a button at the end of activities that sends you back to either the same lobby you were in, or a fresh one with the same rules (open or invite/crew/friends only
24:00 The heist update takes place both before and after Story mode. When you do the Fleeca Lester talks about big things but he needs time to prepare them. Then when you do the last heist he says something like "Man, I robbed both the Bank and the Union Depository back to back, they must be pissed", so yeah, the story mode starts after we do the heist to help trevor start Trevor Phillip Industy and ends before we do the last heist on that same update
i think when it comes to Online my understanding was after the Casino Heist everything after that came after the Storymode

23:18 The reason you can't explore it in freemode because it would kill the whole idea of the heist. Its a private island with armed guards, when you gather Intel for the heist you are pretending to be a smuggler and even then, you can't get caught in the wrong places. It would make absolutely no sense for you to sneak onto the island to rob it and then 5 minutes later be able to go and freely explore it in freemode without

Humane Labs, the military base, Merryweather HQ, Noose, every convenience store, Pacific Standard, the Casino. All places you can enter freely 5 minutes after robbing them in setups or heists

bruh i remember the other day i played gta online for the first time in about half a year
after having what feels like hours worth of unskippable cutscenes play on my computer while i was off elsewhere doing god knows what i cringed my way through some tedious overly long and very badly designed missions where for example there were infinite enemies respawning within the room i was in (instead of spawning in the next room and coming through a one way door (easy fix))
i then went from public session to public session searching for one where i could interact with other players but literally everyone of them without fail had at least one modder making it impossible for me to enjoy the game
i sad fek this lot and deinstalled the game entirely after having it installed for a mere couple of days
so it may or may not be suchfully that it has improved over time but it is still really really badly designed garbage that you must be willing to trudge through in order to experience anything that comes even close to "gameplay"

@@BlackMoonHowls the NPC enemies of GTA Online are for some reason insanely stupid, especially the vehicle enemies' laughable pathfinding, so to compensate for the very outdated AI, Rockstar made the decision of giving them aimbot accuracy and (sometimes) the rapid fire bug, honestly it just shows how much they hate effort

Idk if I commented on the original video, but the only reason I played GTA Online that much and continue to play it, is the free roam.
I love the drive, I love chilling with players, I love helping players who are trying to do some free roam activites, I love engaging in savage pvp, all of that.
The free roam part of GTA Online is the very reason why RP servers are that active, "aimlessly" chilling in the world with a big objective in mind, but not always trying to achieve this objective.
Exactly like there is a ton of people who just slack in MMORPG, aimlessly running and jumping in the capitals, but accepting pretty much all invitations to duel or when a PvP group of another faction come near, engaging against them.
I'm rich since the very beginning of GTA O, the crew challenge exploit made me 5 bils before I stopped doing it, so the money was absolutely always pointless for me. Helping people leveling up and getting their money was what I always did, and still continue to do. Even now, using a mm myself mostly because you can't play in public session without a anti crash and anti kick mm, and also because it divide loading time by almost 2, I still continue to play normally among other things I do thanks to the mm, like creating custom maps for custom gamemodes that we love with some friends (manhunt kind of modes, where everyone is off radar except those in your organisation, and there is an org that play police and another one that play thieves). We're considering switching to an AltV server for this kind of gamemodes tho, GTA Online quickly become very limited and too reliant on players fairplay for that.
That being said, GTA O only issue for me is the loading times. Too many times I refused to do an activity because it means waiting for minutes, back in the days, before being able to play. Now it's better, but still not close to FiveM/AltV minigames servers at all.
I agree that Matto was too harsh on the open world aspect of Online.
Unlike some other GTA youtubers from the past like Vanoss,Matto never really had the chance to have fun just wandering around doing random shit and enjoying the free roam with friends. Which is quite a shame.
@@caliqm2199 It really is! That's the fun part of GTA O. So much memories, drifting aimlessly while listening to Non Stop by a rainy night only lightned up by the occasionnal thunder, only to mess up a drift and end up killing a player that was just there.
Writing "sorry" in chat, talking a bit, and ending up 2 hours later in the final of a heist. Congrats, you just discovered a new friend.
So much people I still talk to, still play with to GTA O or other games, it's a fantastic social game imo. Better than most MMORPGs I played.

You only need to invite friends to a Securo Serve if it’s a free mode mission. For example, if you do the cayo perico or the diamond casino setups, you need to invite them, but for actual missions that puts them on a screen where you can buy armor or ammo, you don’t need to have them in a securo serve beforehand.

The snack and armor thing in gtao is still a problem (for me at least) despite it being much easier to access. I can spam the snack button several times and it'd bring up the phone or just not work at all, and armor will work like 50% of the time

5:09 I could be wrong but I thing Rockstar has fixed this issue because for last couple weeks If I am a CEO and I join a different session (Public or Invite only) I join the session automatically as a CEO, Same thing if your a Motorcycle Club President.
You're probably not wrong because when I quit to the main menu, and go back into session, I still end up being President/CEO
34:00 this is much harder problem than you think.
If you been moved to another session, that means you did a job, that puts you in a closed "mission instance". The place that is separated from online.
If you want the game to leave you in session you was in - that means game has to reserve your place in lobby.
Maximum lobby size is 25 people.
Now imagine out of these 25 people, lets say 16 (4 full groups) decided to do some sort of missions, that puts them in "closed instances".
Their characters leave lobby, join mission, doing mission, but their place is reserved in online lobby.
That means that other 9 people in lobby left alone. Because no new players can join untill those 16 complete their missions or leave the game.
So i understand why rockstar removes you from the lobby you were when you start closed instance missions. It's so new players can join that lobby and it wont be empty.
Obviously for closed sessions or friend only sessions that shouldnt be case. This is where they should improve
There is a teleport button, at least for Apartments and Facilities for the respective heists. Still limited but it’s there

Also I have to mention that the dices "minigame" verification is more complex. It tracks your speed of writing and mistakes and other. For example you type one letter every second, this is suspicious, get verified. In other case you type in random intervals and even type a wrong letter, then the system probably thinks you're human and therefore no verification. I can't be sure about it but I know that captcha on websites works like this, so I assume it very likely works in R* launcher the same
17:45 You only need to make people associates for stuff that doesn’t put you into another session. A way to notice this, (as you said) is the stuff that has that menu you showed changes your session.
Matt there has always been a cap for the amount of ceos in a lobby. That's why you don't auto start as a ceo because of the cap. Plus that ceo cap thing can be used to job tp 😅

i think just easily explained is that for anything that is still in the freeroam world they need to be an associate, anything with a menu you can just invite without associate

Your opinions about GTA Online were helpful to me personally as I uncritically played the game for 8 years on various platforms. In all honesty I wa splaying this game way too much in the past and once I was aware of some of the more irritating mechanics. I have stopped playing the online tbh and refound my enjoyment for other games so thank you. This game was a comfort game to me at times as it was easy and required no thinking. But there is much to improve from Rockstar for the online in GTA 6.
I have a short, you might want to make. So I was replaying the mission marriage counselling, and I realise you can call any number and during the part where the caravan park in front of the way it won’t set the weigh point, and it will keep the red dot

There is a bug in the main menu that makes it so you quit the game but it’s still running in the background so the rockstar games launcher will not open. (This only happens on the PC version of the game) and the mouse cursor is also very laggy in the main menu.

Matto reacting to Past Matto is something I didn't know I needed injected directly into my left atrial heart valve.
I'm pretty sure the update that made GTA Online take place after Story was the Gunrunning/Bunker update, I'm pretty sure there is some dialog in a mission or cutscene that mentions some in game version of an IRL event or something like that.
In my experience in this game if you have a good crew perferably with 2 people, you can make crazy money with big con, artwork, and drills on diamond casino heist. Me and my friend made at least 250 mil in 2 weeks by grinding. The trick is just have 1 person hack and the other one loot so when the hacker is done he can get whatever artwork is closest and then drill for the last minute. I think our highest take (without cuts included) was like 4.2 mil.
