As much as I try, 2:23 always breaks me down. When it first came up in the game it was such an amazing moment, knowing that you will die on the mountain, drawing all the attention and bullets on you for John to escape. One final outburst of rage and adrenaline before laying down in peace, facing the sun.
This is even more powerful when you realize how much of a coward Micah was. He could only attack Arthur when he was weak and exhausted. Before that, Micah knew Arthur would murder him with his bare hands. So, Bell took advantage of Arthur in his lowest physical point to kill him.
This is when Arthur achieves his redemption, in high honor is like he’s finally accepting himself and all the things he’s done by protecting his brother in his final breaths it’s like he accepting that maybe he’s not a bad man and he can change even if he has not much time left, however in low honor is him letting his rage out in a final blaze of glory hopefully doing at least a good action before he dies, he wants the hell to be full when he arrive. Fascinating music
this music just screams determination. arthur is already dead. he knows it. but he's got 5 minutes to live. his power is dwindling, however, he can still fight. it'll be painfull and we'll make sure he's 100% dead but he can. and he uses it. he makes sure john makes it out.
