    Great videos, I like to put the new charger in the old charging station. Remove the charging station internals, replace with new charger and charge the lith batteries in the station as before.

    ...most fascinating to me is the battery rebuild...that could become a side business in itself...there a literally thousands of cordless tools piled in our garages begging to be restored, mostly due to battery issues...

    • @aserta
      @aserta 4 года назад +3

      It is a business. There's lots of people doing this at greater or lower cost, with good or bad results. Ultimately, unless it's a company, you'll never get a guarantee the job's done right, and even then it's a dangerous affair. Battery packs are not something you mess with and get away with if you don't do it correctly.
      So that's why it's not a hit and miss, on both sides of the spectrum, customer, and service provider.

    • @ltdees2362
      @ltdees2362 4 года назад +1

      @@aserta your so right, there are many aspects you must consider before attempting a battery restore/repair of this nature. For me, I just purchase a new battery and be done with it 👍

    I have this same impact driver.. U.S. branded. Still use it a lot as it fits the hand well and always worked good.
    I rebuilt the nicads a few times. Now I've just mated the handle insert of the battery to a 3-D printed DeWalt adaptor. Now it accepts Dewalt 12v Li-Ion. There are no adaptors made for these old Hitachi drills
