      Hi Madison! Kelli will probably explain this much better, but I’ll try- lol! (: “Crellies” (crellys) are polishes that are in-between a jelly and a cream polish. They’re usually a little more pigmented, but they’re more like a cream with a jelly finish. I hope that helped a little!😘💕

      @nluther22 5 лет назад +8

      I feel like I see a lot of indie brands using crellies with glitter so you are still getting some color but can clearly see the glitter in the polish, too.

      Cheap jellies don't level well, so it's difficult to avoid streaky lines unless you do lots of layers. After only 1 coat at 3:29, the color is fairly even instead of having lines where the brush ran through--that's what you want. Also, a wide brush is the better for jellies bacause it helps get a nice even coat.

    My first jelly polish was a nude that was super sheer. I thought there was something wrong with it and almost threw it away, but I really loved how it looked on my nails. That's what started my love for jelly polishes and even more so when I realized how cool they are with glitter!

    Bless you with many many great hair days and at least one moment of bone deep utter satisfaction every day! This video answered so much for me! I am pale af with an orange undertone (the colour picker app called me "Stark White" but it was in the Orange colour family) and have been very diligent in finding JUST the right colours with JUST the right undertones to make me appear less corpselike (not as easy as it sounds) while also being able to achieve vintage looks... and while I found Essie Fifth Avenue to be the PERFECT shade of vermilion that makes my skin glow, recently got Essie Resort Fling and it is the PERFECT shade for my skin and is BEAUTIFUL for 1930s, 1950s and even early 1960s looks, I was at a loss of what to do when it turned out to be streaky... Tart Deco may be ever so slightly off, but its off in a way that would be far more suited for an olive undertone, not me. knowing that its intention was to be more pigmented than sheer, yet still sheer, I can probably do more with it than a regular cream. Im off to go see if you have that video on techniques on uses.

    Great video. I'm not a fan of jelly polishes, but yeah, you've made them look cool. In England, jelly is what you call jello. What you call jelly, we call jam. We also have a strained jam (no bits) that is called jelly! We know exactly what we're talking about!!!

    • @KelliMarissa
      @KelliMarissa  6 лет назад +2

      Bahahha thanks for clarifying!!

    • @unboundbytiffany
      @unboundbytiffany Год назад +2

      Jam and jelly are also the same in the US for that reason (strained out seeds etc or not) and preserves is jelly and jam but like the whole fruit pieces in it. But yeah that's the same here too, how jelly and jam and different but still used. I think they call them "gelly or jelly? But I usually see it marketed as 'gelly gel', anyways- because the consistency is moreso like a jelly, the sheerness, almost sticky wet looking vs cured reg. Gel polishes usually. :)

    Great explanation! Even for my 60yr old brain! Thank you, I was definitely looking for a more opaque nail color initially so, your info weeded out the “jelly” options and kept me from making an $$ mistake! Thank you SO SO MUCH!!

      I'm glad you found it to be helpful Emily! 💜 It's always confusing when they don't label the formulas haha!

    Thanks for the video, would love to see a video on different ways to use a jelly polish for nail art. I’ve wanted to try doing jelly sandwiches but not sure how to go about it.

    I like jelly polishes, but I don't seem to find them to often. Years ago when OPI came out with their Texas collection, I picked up a bottle and it happened to be a jelly formula. Best bottle I have ever owned!
