I have not bought a tent from TEMU but have bought some golf shoes and a pair of boots. The quality and price is very good, one not so good was a inflatable camp pillow that never held the air for very long.

I've bought some things from Temu, nothing for outdoors, just kitchen and personal stuff. The prices on a lot of their stuff are so low, I don't really care if it works "well" or not, and the quality can be surprisingly good. One of my first purchases was a vacuum sealer for $15 - FIFTEEN USD!!! I figured going in that there was no way it would actually work, but it works pretty damn well. It doesn't have a lot of features, but for $15, I don't expect it to have all of the bells and whistles - just to vacuum seal a pouch. I've got a pouch I sealed when I first bought it (over a year ago now), and it's still sealed tight and no air has leaked in - I call that a success! I've bought clothing and lots of craft items and just fun novelty items. Had one problem with an order - two items were not correct with the rest - Temu covered the cost of the whole shipment and told me to keep it all. Not bad
Funny thing is that years ago I had a Coleman tent that was used for backpacking with my son's Boy Scout Troop and had no problems with it. Yes it was cheap but worked great.
I've seen some ads from temu and the prices were so good, I thought it was a scam of some kind. At least I know you actually got a product. I bought an off brand 2 man tent for 70 dollars a couple years ago and I am totally happy with it. It weighs 5 lbs and has a full fly and even a ground cloth. The bottom looks a lot more impressive than that one and it's roomier. Aluminum poles and I'm pretty sure it's nylon or something like it. My other tent weighs 3 lbs but I get claustraphobic in it. Can't sit up or move around.
This tent was sold out on Temu at the time of your last video when you introduced us to it. I doubt that they will restock it. I"m sure that they got a great 'bundle' deal of some sort when they (the seller) first bought it (or them) & listed it. It's gone.
I'm a frugal car camper of many decades, and here's the thing about cheap tents: they've cut corners which often you, the tent's owner, can sometimes fix! Buying seam sealer and spending an hour or two going over 100% of the stitching goes a long way - some tents that appear to have their seams "taped" aren't really properly seam sealed. If you notice stress points that don't seem strong enough - get out needle and thread and nylon strap material and reinforce them! If the tent doesn't seem stable in the wind, identify two to four possible guylines you can add to make it more stable. I once bought a $90 three person tent whose rainfly at the side laid limp directly against the mesh of the inner tent. Five minutes with paracord and some safety pins, and I had it set up to pull the fly away from the mesh, providing fantastic ventilation. That $90 tent is now my mainstay, seven foot square so big enough for my 12" high cot (a necessity for this newly retired adventurer).
I've a friend who is an industrial engineer in Hong Kong. If you are a big company, a chain and want to sell something like a lawnmower, but don't want to build it yourself, my friend will source the parts from China, have it assembled and then shipped to your warehouse. A few years a go, a large hardware chain hired him to put together a small push lawn mower which he did, it was done and labeled with the name of the chain and ready to ship. When the buyer came to inspect it, they found something they didn't like and canceled the order. My friend simply sold the mowers, labeled with the Ace Hardware logo, to someone else. So, 15,000 Ace Hardware mowers ended up who knows where. I'll bet something like that happened with these tents and Temu ended up with them instead of Grand Canyon.
Used this tent on a 240 km hike. Had absolutely no problems with it. Several days with torrential downpour..no leaks. Good size if you want to keep your gear inside. Incredible for the price. I only bought a new tent to save a bit on weight.
Luke, I saw this video and got the tent. It does have the same issues you described and I went ahead and seemed sealed it’s fly. I just rewatched your evaluation again and realized I didn’t seal the tie down stitching the on the tub not being seen sealed. I’ve have used the tent for three adventures. No issues with the tent. However it didn’t rain , so I don’t know if there’s a leaking problem. The temperature at Sly Park got down to low 30’s with winds gusting to 20’s and and the tent was comfortable . I will be seen sealing the tent floor stitching for next outing. I was wondering if you had done a rain test on this tent. I enjoy your adventures! You and Suzie rock ! Be safe
A couple of months ago I ordered what looked like a Gerber military style sheath knife. I was surprised when I received it and the box said Gerber, had the Gerber logo, and said made in the USA. I paid less than 15 dollars and have seen the same knife at Walmart and on Amazon for 79 dollars. So far it's been a great knife but I haven't done any serious work or cutting with it.
One thing you have to realize is that in other countries, which is where Temu is stationed, just like Aliexpress, Alibaba, etc, the literal 100% same things we buy here for X amount of price, are super cheap in the rest of the world by comparison. Prices are literally jacked up in America because they know they can. It's entirely possible that either Grand Canyon is in on it, ooor, someone else is buying Grand Canyon stuff super cheap, still jacking the price up relative to their country, but at the same time, still being able to offer it to us at half what we would normally buy it for and still be able to make a profit.
I bought a 1 person tent from Temu by Desert Fox for $50. I watched a review on it and thought it would be good for my BOB. It really is a decent tent, but I ordered the wrong one. So now I have to go thru the return process. I later noticed the same tents are also sold on Amazon for a few dollars more. I am not sure Team is worth the hype. I jumped on it for the price only without looking at other sellers.
I wonder if the Temu version is a counterfeit. Similar design but modifications and cheaper materials. Could even be produced on the same production line in China.
I’ve bought hundreds of items from Temu. They are wonderful. Not one wrong order. They have good customer service. All my packages have arrived as promised. I love them
Concerning the tent "not" being freestanding (8:15), yes and no. This is easily rectified by simply adding mini-biners to the fly corners and zip ties to the nest tie down points. Connect them together and then tighten the zip ties for the correct fly tension and off you go to anywhere you'd like. This set-up also automatically centers the fly and still gives you nest/fly separation. Next, trash the steel stakes and the fiberglass poles for much lighter aluminum. These poles also have the advantage of having no ferrules to snag on the sleeves saving you much frustration especially with the cross-pole. You then have a 3lb.,12 oz very nice, spacious bivy type tent that doesn't seem at all delicate to me. As to room, I'm 6' and 180 and have plenty except for sitting where my head is against the ceiling. As to the tarp type floor, it'll likely outlast the average user, is easy to repair and doesn't really need a footprint. I also noted no defects in mine. So, for the $35.00 I paid for this at TEMU, I'm more than satisfied.
Temu to my understanding blurs out logo of companies to cut down on clones using trademark company names. Pretty much if you see a blurred logo its a counterfeit or suspected to be counterfeit by Temu.
This is a copy design wise to the mil-tec recom 1.i have that tent, the recom is sealed, the materials are different, better. The recom also had fiberglass poles, I swapped them for aluminum custom ones and changed the stakes. I too liked the design that's why I got it and it's also seam sealed without that terrible coleman material floor.
I have used TEMU for several inexpensive items for which I had no expectations other than a low, low price. Mesh bags, cheap sunglasses, yard shoes, etc. If you want three pair of cheap sunglasses for $10 and don’t care if they break or get lost, then fine. I bought some super cheap razors. Use two or three times and throw away. But like I say, they were cheap. That’s all I expect and I’m happy with that.
Yes, I want to see more cheapy stuff! I have bought some stuff based on your reviews (Big Agnes stool for example) but would love to watch your channel AND my budget lol
I heard that the reason that Temu sells things so cheap is that they steal your data and install spyware, I don’t know if that is true but buyers beware.
Maybe Grand Canyon is selling tents that don’t pass there quality control or factory seconds.if so for a little of your own labor to seam seal the tent than maybe you have a good tent at a big saving’s. If you seam sealed the problem areas before the rain test I think we would have a better idea if it is worth buying. Might be an interesting video to show people that they can save money and get out and camp with out spending a lot of money. I love your videos. Your help and expertise is invaluable in making smart decisions about our gear thank you for all that you do. Live free and stay safe
I have Grand Canyon Cordova, used it in Austria in Alps in a reaaaally nasty rain and wind, also in Slovenia on my way home to Croatia and I love it! I had seam seal ready in a case it's poor but all was good. I mean it was car camping and I tested it as a car tent to have on standby, not a self standing tent but really spacious, me and my dog had a lot of space! I don't like vestibule bot a single bit but as I said it's a tent to have in a car. I have cheap tarp in a car as well just to cover vestibule. All in all, 8/10, not including it was only 60€ on Amazon.
I bought a Eureka Backcountry 1. It's alot like that, just design. The backcountry by Eureka is badass, I've had for 15 years, and use every yr backpacking.
This video has me thinking back to one of the first videos of yours I watched several years ago. It was a bathtub tent as well that started filling up with water from some rain. I cant remember the name of the tent, but I do remember lmao at some of the comments on it.
This exact tent is sold here in Brazil by Nautika, by name NTK Windy 1. And costs 60 dollars. Here, its consideered by the local survivalists and preppers as a cheap escape tent.
Took me a few but tried temu and honestly I like them I been impressed with their stuff over wish and shien. From small items to clothes to some camping lights I got and stuff like that. Thanks for the reviews
I have gotten a bunch of temu camping items, no tents. tarps and other camping gadgets are great and cheap. Picked up alien rings, drybags, camp storage, lights, and other items for way cheap. If your not trying to buy high end knock offs you should be good. Bonus is the money saved.
I have recently made a few orders from teemu... mostly small cheaper items I couldn't find elsewhere. The delivery was very fast.. some items but only costing under €1 were junky plastic but the majority did what they said on the tin and good quality... and yes were third or less the price one would expect to pay elsewhere. Their email updates were very efficient and itemized and if some things were going to arrive before others or separate orders bundled together they send an update email. And they credit you with €5 if any item in an order arrives after the stated arrival date..
Haven't tried a tent but everything else has been so amazing, i feel guilty for the purchase. I got the dinosaur blowup coatume for 12 bucks. Had a blast in it. Thank you, temu.😂
Daley out doors did a review of a Temu tent ,desert fox I think it was called, my one concern was there clams of waterproofing HH , as I thought it leaks like a sieve.
Oh yes You had me nervous long Wolf. But it was nice to hear that you liked it because we all shot there. It's a nice looking Tent. And if it doesn't pass your expection, nobody's going to get that.🎉🎉
Very similar to the Mil-tec Recom (yes that's spelled correctly) which was a good little tent, but was too small for me in the long run so I ended up moving to the ICS
I doubt you will see this. However I recently purchased a Eureka Mountain Pass 3. It’s a convertible 4th season tent that can be easily used year round. It’s price is mid ($420 for the 3 man) and I’m pretty well floored. For the price it’s giving a solid run at tents way above its price point. I think your pack may be interesting if winter camping on a budget is something they like.
I have a bear grylls cascade 1 tent I got years ago almost identical to that one but mine comes with aluminum poles, rip stop nylon rain fly, included ground cloth. I keep it in my bug out kit. Great tent.
Speaking of cheap tents... Could you please revisit River Country Products tents again? I'm really curious about their Trekker Tent 1 and 1V and how they hold up in the mountain rain.
It used to be "seconds" were sold on a place called NewFrog. Any blemish and it became a second. Lots of names brand stuff cheap. That not of seeing in the bottom makes it a second. They probably did dream tape it due to it already being a second.
The market is flooded with knockoffs, take airsoft for example... I'm all about saving money, but I typically buy direct or from reputable dealers...Temu is very questionable. I look forward to hear about your inquiry sent to Grand Canyon, but would also like to see a side by side comparison should you purchase a Apex 1 directly from them or by a reputable dealer. Otherwise great content, keep sharing, and I'll keep watching/liking!
when are you going to field test in rain and bad weather so as to point those failures out and suggest any fixes like spray rubber silicone seem seal type stuff?
Grand Canyon likely pays a Chinese factory to make their tents, and the factory just makes more and sells the extras. Would be interesting to compare the Grand Canyon origional to this one. Possible that the Temu version is made with cheaper material.
It's out of stock right nou on Temu, maybe thanks to your video? LOL I'm eagerly waiting for that rain test and if it passes (something tells me that it will not), I'm going to buy this tent. I'm aware of the quality, but the design and shape of it is a `rara avis`.
I buy alot of stuff from Temu, for the most part I've been very happy, they had a aniversary sale, great prices, then a Good Friday sale, the sales are good prices,I bought alot of solar lawn decorations dirt cheap and really neat
I have alot of temu stuff. Most of it works good. Projector. Night vision. Nick naks. Accessories for my kayak. Gas mask. ..only problem I have is a few of the nicknaks were damaged small parts. I used a bit of super glue
If this tent is waterproof, I'm probably going to get one since it's cheap. I don't see many one man tents that would be practical for someone who is 6'2".
I watched a video by a guy in the UK who went camping in a cheap temu tent. Not sure if it was the same one or not. It leaked like a sieve. He was not impressed. LOL

You made me laugh near the end until I had tears in my eyes Luke
I needed that today!
A 250 km hike, you say?
@@davidstair9657 Nope..240 :) Not really that crazy compared to PCT and such.
Lmmfao!!! Bruh said, "I'm sure they have a ton of garbage." It came out so "naturally" 😂😂😂
I once bought a Sears Coleman pup tent . 5×7 and I was a great little 2 man tent. withstood alot of storms in Illinois back I the 70,s and 80,s.
Great video. My reservations about the tent are that it looks hugely bulky and at 2.2kg, listed on the amazon link, quite heavy for hiking.
This geodesic style tent I have seen before, a company called Haven makes a 'hammock tent' that has rave reviews. It's similar in shape. Good video
This guy is the best...
Thank you Luke for all you do .....
My first tent in the early 70's was canvas. My second tent was similar to this, tarp floor, etc. My third was a nice light tent.
Hi Luke , I love the description of ramming the poles in !
😅
I have used TEMU for several inexpensive items for which I had no expectations other than a low, low price. Mesh bags, cheap sunglasses, yard shoes, etc. If you want three pair of cheap sunglasses for $10 and don’t care if they break or get lost, then fine. I bought some super cheap razors. Use two or three times and throw away. But like I say, they were cheap. That’s all I expect and I’m happy with that.
That's an amazing price for something that works. I just paid $50 for a ground sheet for my litefighter 1 tent.
Yes, I want to see more cheapy stuff! I have bought some stuff based on your reviews (Big Agnes stool for example) but would love to watch your channel AND my budget lol
I heard that the reason that Temu sells things so cheap is that they steal your data and install spyware, I don’t know if that is true but buyers beware.
and exploitation of workers and merchants
Don't download the app. You can still place orders and returns without the app.
Use a browser..not the apps for any foreign site.
You’ve brainwashed by Biden.
That's propaganda put out by Amazon and the American oligarchy because they don't like the competition
Good emergency shelter to leave in the truck and not have to worry too much about being stolen. Cheap as it is, it could save you.
If I'm not mistaken, this is the tent Luke used in the video he uploaded previous to this one.
Could this tent be a factory second or a blem?
What a great advertisement for TEMU!
I have not had problems with my temu items so far. Want to see if this is waterproof. I might want to get a second bug out tent.
When will a follow-up video be coming out?
I’m sharing to my Amazon and private label folks.. a new kind of low going on here! Your awesome!
Like these kind of reviews. Good job Luke.
Probably a great value for someone who only outdoor camps 1 or 2 x per year or for someone just getting into the outdoor scene.
Daley out doors did a review of a Temu tent ,desert fox I think it was called, my one concern was there clams of waterproofing HH , as I thought it leaks like a sieve.
USGI ACU Improved Combat Shelter, similar design cost about 130$ milsurp, I just bought a 30$ tent ozark trail from Walmart and it is a great tent.
I love Temu The mini square camp stove is great (3 inch square one) the mini mattress inflator, lighting all worth the cost.
Sounds like a great beginner tent that needs an umbrella! ☔️
Most social apps, including RUclips, collect data from each user. If safety and security is an issue, stay away from all of them.
I have a bear grylls cascade 1 tent I got years ago almost identical to that one but mine comes with aluminum poles, rip stop nylon rain fly, included ground cloth. I keep it in my bug out kit. Great tent.
How much was that one to buy ?
@@maryburger1232 I think I got it on clearance for around $75
Thanks for NOT editing out "ram the rod thought it and tear it a new one" 😂
Last month I've camped for ten days in a Grand Canyon Cordova 1 - in the blazing sun and also in streaming rain. Absolutely no issues.
Had a kelty back in the day that was very similar. Don't remember the model
What are the other two products Luke?
Grand Canyon likely pays a Chinese factory to make their tents, and the factory just makes more and sells the extras. Would be interesting to compare the Grand Canyon origional to this one. Possible that the Temu version is made with cheaper material.
Very brave of you to purchase from Temu, but very informative. Thanks!
It's out of stock right nou on Temu, maybe thanks to your video? LOL
I'm eagerly waiting for that rain test and if it passes (something tells me that it will not), I'm going to buy this tent.
Have you ever talked about the differents between seam seal and seam tape???
75” x 22” is considered big??
Having legs that are next to shot I canoe camp a lot. That would be a great tent to put in the solo canoe.
Did you ever review this further? As in follow up videos?
I watched a video by a guy in the UK who went camping in a cheap temu tent. Not sure if it was the same one or not. It leaked like a sieve. He was not impressed. LOL
So you reviewed it without actually trying it......well done 😂😂😂
Compare this to the Wechsel Pathfinder?
Luke did you switch your Garmin watch for the IWatch Ultra?
