- Project Zomboid is a difficult game with a lot of features to learn. But why do that when you can learn useless facts for the game instead!
CORRECTION:
For fact #11, lard (4095 kcal) has the most calories, pasta (3360 kcal) would be in 2nd place.

I have a newfound respect for the Zomboid devs after hearing that they lost all that code. Despite such a major setback they've still managed to create one of if not the most in depth Apocalypse sims ever.
One of the many reasons this game is my favorite!
That may be the hugest contributor as to why the game has been unfinished for so god damn long.
@@ADcommenter that probably is the actual reason, not only do you need to recode all of that, now you need to remember how you coded it, you need to get your moral back up, any bugs that were previously fixed are now once again unfixed and you need to remember how you did that etc
@marouanfares3682 some point in the future almost every mod on the workshop will be obsolete because indie stone will actually add the features those mods provide. Wont be surprised if some of the modmakers actually end up working for indie stone! (Tsar, Authentic Peach, Shark, Brita, im looking at all of you.)
That would put me in such a fucking slump. I would not work on the project for a month or two for something like that.
i like the fact that money and credit cards are still included in the game. i think it symbolizes how useless it all is once society collapses and we're to fend for ourselves

It would be amazing to be able to play an instrument, perhaps lower certain moodles like boredom or unhappiness. I would also like a skill bar to level up increasing the quality of music... I mean this game is already often referred to as the sims with zombies, lets just go all in.
That's a good idea! I read somewhere that one of their devs is into music and was thinking of adding some way to play them.
Catch myself calling my character my sim all the time when talking about them, they really need to for my sake
This would be awesome! Put in some old folk songs to avoid copyright, and modders could add in any song they wished!

There is a great mod that makes pianos playable and has a piano skill bar. You can play set pieces that get better the longer you practice and gain xp. Also an acoustic guitar mod that lets you free play with your keyboard.
They lost about a months worth of work on the game when the laptops were stolen that is a lot of man hours of time, the game is taking so long to make because they have redid the engine and a lot of other process and the amount of details in this game large and very small is insane. They are very dedicated people though and care about putting out an amazing game and I have nothing but respect for them and this game. The level of customization along with every single detail makes it one of the most immersive games I personally have ever played in my 30 years of gaming. Once this game gets to the 1.0 release we will have something truly epic and will be a game to remember for many many years to come. The amount of people who have put hundreds/thousands of hours into this game and it isn't even finish yet and is still missing major features is a testament to that. They could call the game finished now and people would still be able to play forever and ever on this because of how much is cramed into the game already and the next update is going to be something else, I am very excited to see the animals and eventually the NPCs. Another amazing fact is the modding community. The people who mod this game are amazing people, the amounts of weapons, cars, clothes, hair styles, food, literally anything you want can be done basically along with locations that are as well done as any professional level designer would do. If you made it to the end of this huge wall of text, want to say thank you for reading and thank you for being a part of this amazing community you all are an amazing fact as well, so much less toxic than most other communities.

Contrary to popular belief there is actually at least one VHS tape in the game that gives weapon xp.
So far I have only found the "Mother's Boy" VHS to grant some Short Blade XP but the fact it exists could mean others exist.
Interesting, I thought the only useful VHS tapes were the ones that give xp for crafting skills.

There`s also the piano - though ofc you can`t use it to club the dead as with the other instruments. Also - you can actually play these instruments it`s just not something from the vanilla game. I think it was more than one mod even.

1:03 You used the wrong symbol. If you wanna say "around" or "nearly" the symbol is "~". ~5600 Buildings. The Plus or Minus ± symbol is if you wanna add or remove numbers. You would say 5600 ±100 buildings which indicates the range is 5500-5700 buildings.

Speaking of the musical instruments, there is a mod in the workshop that allows you to play em, with different songs for each. For example, Baker Street on sax and Jump on keytar

I will say that time spent on reading each skill book is not useless: especially in earpy game, if you need to level up some skills before the water plumbing goes down or electricity is gone, it's good to knowhow many books you'll need to read and how much time sink need to be spent before you get caught with your pants down.
Reading books is FAR from useless, perhaps necessary?
I'd say it can look like it's useless for relatively new players, as it take a lot of time, for only a "bonus to leveleving up" (rather than actually getting XP).
Which, for a player that is still not completely confident can seem far from being urgent. 20 or so minutes si the whole day. In the first 10-14 dayx, depending on your spawn point, (keeping in mind fresh players) you will have a lot of priority on your minde, and a lot of things you think are necessary tob e done quickly. While a more experienced player know more isntinctively what he can get away with.
The most calory food is syroop that canadians like, close to 4000 calories p. s. (idk how, but yesterday i checked and it wan 1050, i think they nerfed it)

Useless fact: violin has 1 durability and has a 100% to lose durability on hit, so it is the most fragile weapon in the game
it also took 49 seconds to listen to the time it takes to read a book in project zomboid.
i didnt test on different speeds though for a more concrete timeframe

Money can be used if you subscribe to a mod that gives you vending machines that if you put money to it, you can exchange it for weapons, ammo, mags, health and what else have you.
Also I think the jewelry is way more useless.

Imo these aren't all useless. Most cal food (lard) is a good one to know if you're tryna gain weight when underweight, time to read books is good to know i'd say. Just little things like that

another almost useless fact is that you can use vehicles to destroy chain link fences and wooden fences this can be useful in very specific scenarios but mostly its just useless

There are mods that let you play the acoustic guitar and banjo. There's another mod that lets you pretend play the other guitar-like instruments, but as far as I know, no sound actually comes out
