He's an amazing craftsman. He reinvents things from years ago.

So what do you want for Christmas?
Me: a sand blaster.

Am i the only one waiting for the sand blasting part? The most satisfying part😂
i disagree, the choo choo was the best part.....though normally i agree
"Smells like an old TV"
What memories that brings back!
Ah. The days when a remote control was, "change to the other channel, son". There were only two, and one was mostly static. The channels, I mean. Not the sons.

Omg! That one was made in my and my wife's birth year. I wish someone could restore our bodies that quickly, LOL.
LMAO
Perhaps we should start up a crowd funding campaign for a new capacitor set for TySy’s desk mounted polisher/grinder so he doesn’t have to start it rotating by hand each time😂
will be great 🤣🤣🤣
I love that imperfection. The broken polisher is a TySy Trademark :)
Andi Goldberger actually maybe you’re right.
Andi has right. It's like signature. :) I can't imagine now without :)
Then its not original unless he says "i make a new one"
Hey, Pinon Coffee! I live in Albuquerque. Thats good coffee!
New Mexico piñon coffee is my favorite coffee ever!
Would love to have seen the glass part after the resin cured.
You did when he ground some coffee and then poured the grinds out on the table at 24:12.
If you look at the corner closest to the knob, there is a slight haze in the glass due to the Resin and Glass having different Refraction Indexes (light bends at different angles through each material so they don't look quite the same when viewed at the angle)...

Seeing your videos is a natural stress reliever from having a long day at work. Seeing you in action restoring and refurbishing old stuff really puts a smile on my face. Thanks for all you do TysyTube.
"Coarse" doesn't even begin to describe the result of the grinding :) Nice job!
That's exactly what I thought, I would have loved to see it do a finer grind,

seeing these neglected items get the TLC they deserve instead of being thrown out always makes my day just that little bit better.
This was pretty much the perfect restoration. There was sandblasting, glass repair with resin, super niche tools being used, sense memory triggers with the ‘bakelite smells like old tv’ comment, 3D printing a replacement part, and it was a coffee grinder.
I can imagine antiques experts in 100 years coming across one of these: “It’s clearly a mint condition 1947 Piccolo coffee grinder. So many original parts in mint condition. But look, it has nylon washers and silicone feet. I think what we have here is an original Tysy restoration! There’s maybe only a couple thousand of these on the planet! The value of this item just doubled.”
I wanted to see up close how did that glass repair go..
Me too

I really liked his color choice, too.
This coffee grinder looks brand new right out of the showroom window. WOW Have a great day
This is the first time I have ever heard his voice and he's saying choo choo and it's not even in his normal voice.

0:40 when things were built to last...
Yup! When they were made of metal! They are also easy to disassemble and repair. Modern plastic appliances..... you have to break off the plastic to disassemble them! Those little bits that fit into slots. They are made so that once the housing is attached, it can’t be remove without ruining it!
Yeah, and they were only owned by rich people.
Yep
My parents have a 25 yo fridge, and is work like în first Day.never been repair!
Yes, which almost tanked the Swiss economy when countries like Japan started flooding the market with cheaper products. Our economy still hasn't fully recovered since then actually. Many of our companies which had solid reputations at the time either went bankrupt or were so downsized they're almost irrelevant.
Building overly robust and long lasting products is a shitty business model, sadly.
@@willg4802 I get your point, but it wouldn't be a good idea to have people fiddling around with electrics who haven't a clue what they're doing.
That's the most beautiful white paint job finish that I've ever seen a restorer do on RUclips. Congrats. That's a beautiful job!

When you said it smells like old TV, it reminded me of my grandfather's old Sanyo TV. 50 years later and that TV is still alive. They don't make them like that anymore.
Weirdly every TV I had back then broke in no time but my flatscreen is doing its job for 10 years now and my other flatscreen is pushing 13 years and even survived falling from the dresser 😂
Maybe because TVs now don't use heavy, glass vacuum tubes.
I enjoy watching all your fabulous restorations. My favorite part is watching you fabricate the new parts.
As a New Mexican I appreciate your choice of coffee. Beautiful restoration as well.
I got all excited when I saw what kind of coffee you were using cause I'm from new mexico
I was super excited too. Crazy that he used that coffee.
I was so terrified when the video started. I wasn't expecting choo chooing.
It must be so satisfying after you’ve assembled these, to flip the switch and see them working again!

I used to play with my switch all day, that's why now i'm wearing glasses.

The old TV smell WOW, not only do I know it well, I now smell it because you mentioned it! Now I'm getting visions of Saturday morning cartoons, and the taste of 1980s sugar-infused cereal. LOL
I'm always SO amazed at just how many pieces there are to the items you're restoring. How you're able to reassemble the items is beyond me haha.
How long, in real time, does a resto take from start to finish? You've got the patience of a saint 😊 great job on the coffee grinder.
Although I don't make videos of my restorations, something such as a traffic light can take me several days,so I'd imagine this took at least two maybe three days

Watching your restorations has become a guilty pleasure. This is my favourite so far. So many parts! Fascinating. It looks like new. Brilliant.
When it comes to grinders, if the beans jump when grinding, the burrs are worn. The beans should go down smoothly.
Judt like your mom
That burr looked worn when he took the grinder apart. I suspect it would be hard to find a replacement part. Could he make a new one?

15:17 What I noticed on your water spray bottle -- you use few foreign languages for viewers from distant parts of the globe :) That's a nice approach. I can suggest two small changes: 7th from the top should be SUBSKRYBUJ (Polish) and the 3rd from top - the one with a smiley - for sure not what's there, but rather ABONNIERE (German) :) I wish you 1 Million subs!

That's awesome your using new Mexico pinion coffee that stuff is amazing we love it here awesome work with the coffee maker I m sure the pinion company is going to love seeing this if I can send it on Facebook
Well done Restoration of this little Mill!
One important thing, at Minute 17:22, when you switch on the bench grinder, if you have to give it a little push by hand, that means the motor capacitor is not working as it should (damaged).
Replace it, also makes the thing run cooler, smoother and faster :)
It depends on the size, maybe you also have a model with a starter capacitor/centrifugal switch, whose contacts are worn out.
Only way to find it out/fix it, would be to disassemble/fix it ^^
that should be his next video to fix all of his workshop items lmao
but I would take a 3-wire cable with ground connection to have more security against electric shock, because the winding insulation is old.
And the bakelite plug could easily break and expose a live wire. I would have liked it more if it was up to modern safety standards
Excellent restore and your humor makes the show worth watching.
I love that these all create a story as they go.
This really is one of your finest restorations yet. That's gorgeous!

I thought it was going to be made to fit into the slot of that big screw, as the old knob must have done. But I was disappointed.
