  • Been working on this restoration for a while. It was challenging and time consuming. Sorry for the large upload gap; I'm still alive.
This thing is a marvel of early 20th century engineering. I spent hours trying to find another one made by the same brand online and couldn't find anything. It's a mechanical bellows powered suction + carpet brush sweeper. Incorporating actual vacuum technology along with the sweeper, this thing was truly ahead of it's time.
During this restoration I re-engineered / re-mastered a lot of the original designs so it's not really a restoration as many smart people in the comments will probably point out.

At first I thought to myself "God, I hope this ends up in a museum, it really deserves to be there and to be preserved and admired by the future generations". And then I realised - it really doesn't matter at all. Because this is the museum. This video - all the intricate details, hundreds of hours of painstaking work by a master of many crafts, little, minuscule things that nobody would ever notice if this was to be exibited - all of that is here. It doesn't need a museum to be appreciated by millions - and millions are yet to come to enjoy and admire this masterpiece. I congratulate and I envy you for all the things you are capable of. I salute you, you really are a genius at work.

This struck me as being a tough job to complete. I'm an old man and my great grandma had a couple of these. Outstanding work!

I watch A LOT of restoration videos. This has to be one of my favorites of all time! I have never seen a person with THIS many different skill sets. I saw metal fabrication, woodworking, refinishing, 3D printing, sewing, body work, and graphic design, just to name a few. You Sir, are an incredibly talented person and a Jack of all trades. Congrats on such an astounding array of talents (I know you worked hard to develop every one of those skills)! A beautiful remaster!

If those who originally made this vacuum saw how you have resto-manufactured their product, I think that they would be honored by your work. You made some very good improvements and the end result is beautiful.

"Property of Bates Motel" scissors is the perfect gift to a lot of people I know. I never knew it existed.

One of the best restorations I've seen. This man is able to deal with several kinds of materials and has the proper tools for every one of them. Very satisfying.

Ah, the wooden brush roll; surely, he'll bring out the woodworking to--STAINABLE WOOD FILLAMENT?! Good god, man, you can 3D print ANYTHING, these days! I am blown away, just farking blown away by this restoration!

That was a great restoration of an object that was used in homes for about 10 minutes, until someone said: "Man there has to be a better way!" Thanks for sharing your video, it was very interesting to see the many ways you used to restore this vacuum cleaner. The sand blasting, powder coat, spay paint, bluing, fillers of all types, and 3D printing, it was really interesting to see how all these things came together.

  • @GothGuy885

Hats off to the original inventor of this early carpet sweeper

  • @talal1987alami

This is the most satisfying restoration video I've ever watched!

  • @bird_b0nezz

I didn’t even know these things even existed, but this is beyond impressive, carefully taking this old fragile piece apart, cleaning it meticulously and then somehow putting it back together, 10/10 work if I do say so myself

That is awesome how you restored that carpet sweeper to working order. You worked so hard to clean all the parts from rust and made some new wooden parts to replace those that were too far gone to repair. It looks much better than before and it works like a charm too. Excellent work, I must say.

Chuckled at the scissor joke.😂 "Property of the Bates Motel!" Amazing skill and patience. Like the 3D printer work.

I’ve been watching restoration videos from a lot of different guys for about 2 months now. This guy is the absolute best on RUclips. Welding, 3d printing, lathe, metal fabrication, woodworking, sewing…he’s even good with Illustrator. An artist!

  • @jackieraulerson2005

O M G -the bristle reconstruction say it all. I don’t realize how complicated the construction of these sweepers were. My grandmother had one and I used it as a kid maybe 65-68 years ago. Phenomenal restoration, thanks.

  • @Whitebrowpriest

I don't have many joys in my life, but must say, watching videos of you restoring these old items gives me plenty of joy! 😃
