    You're absolute chad. My electric mirror control wasn't working, so I took them out and cleaned with IPA, after connecting it, worked perfectly. Thank you mate.

    Tony, very helpful video, thanks. I had the same problem with the drivers window switch panel. I disassembled as shown by you - without your video I d have been as reluctant to persist with levering it out as you were in Pt1.
    I didn't find any corrosion, the contacts looked very good, but I gave a light rub with some 1500 grit to both the contacts and the rubber, and a flush of contact cleaner. Nothing looked much different but when re-installed the windows all worked.
    I also used your video on removing the headlight units to replace the dip bulbs. Also very useful.
    Thank you very much. I'm a fan!

    Hi Tony, thanks for all the videos you have made, very helpful. I was wondering if you know the details of the wiring for the switches on the driver side. I want to install some lights on the door, and I was hoping to "steal" the current from the lighting of the switches. I tried a few cables from the black connector, but without luck. I hope you can help. Thanks a lot in advance!

    • @vialettotony
      @vialettotony  3 года назад +1

      Ciao Vincenzo. Sorry, no I don’t have the wiring details unfortunately. I’d be careful with adding too much additional current consumption that you don’t blow a fuse. You may be able to remove the plug in the door hinge side and use a multimeter to find your feed though.
      Sorry I can’t help more. 👍

    I like your series of videos, very hellpful so far.. My question is… is it possible to upgrade non folding mirros with folding unit,to be more precise, am I forced to change internal switch on my door to be able to fold them. My Alfa is factory non folding model but buttons on my door are the same as yours. Thank you a lot.

    • @vialettotony
      @vialettotony  2 года назад

      Hi Aleksander. As far as I know, yes you need to change the switch on the door. The wiring is in place I think so you need to add all the parts and then programme the body computer to tell it that the folding mirrors exist. Not that straight forward unfortunately.
      Hope that helps. All the best 👍

      @vialettotony  3 года назад

      Hi Isaac. Good to hear from you again. Thanks. There’s a possibility it could be. Do you know if rain or something has ever got in the switch?
      It can be a pain to get the unit out, but otherwise it’s an easy enough operation.

    • @vialettotony
      @vialettotony  3 года назад +1

      @@isaacbadu2506 I know when we messaged last, I thought it would be a whole new unit, but having proved it’s not necessary, I think for you it would be worth giving it a go. If you fix it then great, but if you prove it’s something else, then at least you’ve removed that from the equation.
      What year did you say yours was? Just wanted to clarify that it definitely has folding mirrors and it’s not just a new switch unit that someone has fitted?
      A bit of inside information.... I have a video coming out on Friday looking at taking the drivers mirror apart. I’m not sure what the motor that drives the folding element would look like, but it should be quite evident I would imagine, to clarify the car actually has the function.

    Hey, thank you for this instructions video! I have a question-my car is an alfa romeo giulietta 2015 Sprint. My mirrors fold every time i start the engine. If i just turn on the electricity with the key, nothing moves, but just by starting the engine. I can reproduce it ever time. If i click the button for folding/opening it works fine. I dont know whats wrong.. every other button works fine too, and there are no other electric problems. Maybe you heard of this problem or have a clue what i could be?😊

    • @vialettotony
      @vialettotony  9 месяцев назад

      Hi. It’s not something I’ve heard of before. I assume you’ve been through all the settings and confirmed all settings are okay. Other than that, there may be something you could adjust using the Multiecuscan software. Failing that it could be worth getting the fault codes read to see if any issues are present.
      Hope that helps. All the best 👍

    • @DavidSzymanski62
      @DavidSzymanski62 9 месяцев назад

      I fixed it with replacing the whole windows steering module. Maybe the old one sent a false signal, every time I started the engine(still weird in my opinion), or some of the connection pins or the button itself where damaged. I think it could have been from the rain, cause every time you open the door some raindrops fall on the windows steering buttons.. but at the end, I don't know. It's fixed, I am fine. Thank you for you instructions video, i helped a lot !

    I'm having an issue where the wing mirrors only adjust down, been quoted £294 all in for alfa to replace the unit, do you think cleaning out the wing mirror adjustment section could solve my issue? I can't really find a second hand part online if I need to replace the entire unit

    • @vialettotony
      @vialettotony  2 года назад +1

      Hi Paul. It quite possibly could help. If you’re technically minded, then it may be worth having a look at the latest video for the door card removal, where you can see the plugs that go to the wing mirror. From there you could use a multimeter to see if the voltage changes for each direction so you know if it’s the switches or the mirror motor. My bet would be the switches.
      Hope that helps.
      All the best. 👍

    What is the benefit of being able to open and close the windows remotely with the key, is this a peculiarity of the Giulietta or do most cars have the feature ?

    • @vialettotony
      @vialettotony  3 года назад

      Hi Mark. It’s actually pretty standard on most cars today. It comes in particularly handy on a hot day when the cars been sitting. (Especially notable when in Italy in the summer).
      Also when it comes to locking it, it saves having to put the ignition on if one of the kids has left the back windows down.
