    Mimi G. This is my favorite pattern so far. Your designs are beautiful and stylish. I would like to ask you if you could please consider using dark thread on light fabrics or light thread on dark fabrics for demonstration purposes. That would make your explanations of each step much easier to see. I have watched a few tutorials and find that I have to keep rewinding to make sure I understand. I learn so much from your creativity and thank you very much for sharing.

    As always, you did a great job with a very complicated pattern. However, I would love a longer view of the finished product. You pointing out different things about the coat and the construction, and/or you modeling it. We don't get a long enough picture of the coat at the beginning of the tutorial. You might spend some time going over the fact you were doing a very notched color (not sure if that is the true term for that gorgeous color), but it's something that I would have liked more explanation on, some tips, things to be careful of while constructing it. In any case, I love your style of teaching and your amazing confidence. Thank you for all your great work.

      Respectfully, I agree. I have been trying the tutorials on the Sew It Academy site, and I really need more overview, context, and exposure to an example of the finished piece at the beginning.

    Beautiful coat made beautifully. I love this pattern and I like that you used a lighter fabric to make this coat. The way you showed us how to sew the sleeves to the lining is amazing I shall be doing that on my coat I am making which has taken me just under a year. Thank you for sharing this amazing tutorial sew along. XXX

    Love this video. I've been sewing for a loooong time and worked for a pattern company for many years. Never finished the lower edge of a sleeve without slip-stitching the lining. Thrilled to learn alternate construction methods.

    Could sew the lining separately same as outer coat, then stitch on the lining.

    Wish this showed the finished coat both laying flat and being worn. There aren't many finished versions of this coat online so it'd be nice to get a long view of how the coat wears on a person.

  • @michelleaugustin7739

    I’m having a very hard time attaching the under collar . If you could go over the part when you make the dart and attach it to the collar in would be helpful. The dots for the dart is part of the dot we use as a connecting point . Dark thread would be very helpful. I don’t think this will work with wool material. I’m so disappointed. I hope you can help

  • @elizabeth184
    @elizabeth184 5 лет назад

    I definitely need more information about the facing part, after you've stitched the lining to the bottom of the coat - you don't show what this look like when the coat is turned out, and whether there's any extra finishing for this bit.

    I wish there was more time on the material towards the end for areas that would be difficult like the sleeves than time on cutting the pattern or reading the envelope. I do really like this though I'm super late

    Is it possible for you to make a attached video with only the under collar and the upper portions of the back and front? In other words, don’t use the entire length of the pattern. I don’t know why it is giving me such a hard time.

    • @michelleaugustin7739
      @michelleaugustin7739 2 года назад

      OMG. Now I know what I did wrong! I couldn’t understand why I was having such a difficult time. I must have watched the video 10 times. I was fixated on making the dart first and then attaching the seams. After watching it 1 million times I finally realized that you sew the seam in line with also sewing the dart. Why do I feel like an idiot!? But I also feel really good because at least it is not a skill I can’t accomplish . I have no words.
