A true Malaysian will never reply "You're Welcome" other than uncountable "Thank you"
hahahahah so true !!!
I also dunno why. Ppl thank me I always reply with thank you. I do it so often I no mood talk time, I nod my head. Even then I nod like 20 times a day
Where you learn your manner?
I never replied TQ when someone thanked me.
@@linustwof course dude knows manners. Its something like a habit and it just comes out natural by just thanking the person back lol. I felt that saying “you’re welcome” just doesn’t feel like we genuinely feel grateful for their thanks compared to our millions of replied thanks.
@@regentvoocoz u been bododized, thats why
I love how he kept his Malaysian accent and not trying to act American
1st generation immigrants usually stick to their native accent, but not by choice...
Thank you.. Thank you.. Thank you... Suka repeat pure malaysia👍
I mean most people do but most accents are learnt through listening which is why current generations sounds American. Because they learn from the Americans.
this is not malaysian lol. this is just chnese dish. 😂
AGREED! Being Msian anywhere...
The triple thank you at the end is the most Malaysian thing every 😂 So proud to see Malaysia being represented like this in the US!

To be accurate, it is part of malaysian slang. Malaysian Indian, Malaysian Malay, Malaysian Dayak and Malaysian Dusun slang have a difference slang than this.
41 years ma no way hilang
@@dariusz501to be accurate this not SLANG, slang are use of special words such as jom, kautim, tapao, relaxlah etc (example how american call french frieds n euro call chips, n how australian call speedoes as banana hammock).
how a person tone of speaking and pronunciation of words are actually call ACCENT, so he still kept his Malaysian accent, NOT slang. Dont worry it’s a very common misconception of those 2 things.
Not worried any more professor@@KahSing82

This food is not authentic at all... There is nothing right about that rendang. You do not precook the beef to make rendang. And to cook it for just 15 mins? That's blasphemy! Authentic rendang is a whole day affair, and it has to be cooked slowly for hours and hours and hours. And you do not use lemongrass or chili powder in sambal. Achar (pickle) is not a traditional accompaniment for nasi lemak at all. But I guess most of his customers are whites (or whitewashed)... so of course they will be fooled easily...
@@CitizenCan Well since he is cooking the rendang on the spot it is acceptable. In Malaysia we cook the rendang at morning and sell it till evening. The achar part i agree tho.
@@CitizenCan Rather than not-so-nice way of saying fooled, it's more to catering to the tastebuds of the locals. Besides, there are a lot of 'fusion' foods in Malaysia, who's to say we don't offend any Italian or Western culture over here? Food brings people together, not divide us.
I am so proud to be a Malaysian. So proud of uncle keeping his true Malaysian spirit and accent.❤❤

As A Malaysian, i never thought USA is a golden mountain. Only 1% Malaysian.
That's the Chinese name given to us way back from the 1800s. Literally translated, it's 'golden mountain'. It's not a belief. It's just a name handed down by the ancestors. 😅

Where’s the fried anchovies to go with the nasi lemak?!!!

Nah...anchovies are abundance in the USA mostly Latino consume them. However most Mat Salleh not really into small fishes, hence he has to adapt for the local taste bud.

Trying American Sago. Realllyyy good or not? - prolly hungrysam in another 5 years.
Its curried beef, stewed for HOURS. 35 mins in the pressure cooker 😂
It modern style, if traditional no pressure cooker. Make a stewed until oil separate (1 hour), after that put fresh meat for another 1 hour.
It's a dry stew with coconut milk. Imagine how long it takes to cook a stew plus additional time to evaporate the liquid from the meat and coconut milk.
@@flyinghigh2000yup. So it usually is just bought cuz the kitchen will be messy due the oil vapors
I think is better to invite Uncle Roger so you can get approved 'uncle' title...

it's different with the tradition Nasi Lemak, Nasi Lemak without fried anchovies is not a original tradition Nasi Lemak
true, but fried anchovies isn't suited for everyone's taste bud. I reckon westerners probably won't like it. And it's time consuming to peel off anchovies one by one during the preparation
@@WayChuangAng yea, which is why i'm saying not tradition nasi lemak, it's kinda US nasi lemak. u can preserved tradition nasi lemak but u can let the customer to choose with or without fried anchovies, it is kind of easy to do that, if u knew how normal stalker prepare / let u pick anything u wish, it's that easy.
In Johor, Singapore and Riau of 1960s , crispy fried ikan selar aka yellow tail scad was served coz ikan bilis is poor man food. Thanks to BN and PAP, the poor Malays of the 1960s in Johor and Singapore have become middle class or T20 so ikan bilis is comfort food condiment and choice of fish. PS I dont vote BN until they change for the better. In Riau, its still ikan selar.
