Every episode is TOO damn good 😮💨
I know it’s frustrating seeing characters like Canute accept themselves doing wrong like being a king of the Vikings, but he precisely wanted to say that he does technically have all the power in the world but still is powerless against the natural order of things like stopping a wave, or stopping innocent people from dying through his way to attain a utopia. Great reaction
What's particularly frustrating about Canute's words is that while his words ring true, after all, most "great" civilizations are built with the foundation of sin, Canute in this case has gone too far and is clearly just using his power to gain even more power. His underhanded tactics are never really brought up and for some reason, Thorfinn just kinds of let all of the unnecessary bloodshed go. Did Canute really have to kill 100 men for 10 of his?
King Sweyn's ghost, representing powerlust kind of ruins this moment for me. Because Thorfinn and Canute's ideals aren't really clashing here, this is Thorfinn somehow acknowledging and commending King Sweyn's power trip over Canute.
@@deadat1745he gives Canute cause he was able to see things that thorfinn
I don't get why that's frustating nor crazy like in the video

His poison tactis are always brought up, same with the farm plan, a lot of times. What do you mean? Also Thorfinn is doing something weird, he left himself beated up, but if he would've won that fight he could've still gone to Canute. He didn't need to kill or beat the guy, just show that he can win, no?
You can also see the respect this vikings towards Thorfinn because they haven't said anything about Einar going with him when Thorfinn asked him to come 😂
Such a great episode holy cow, loved your guys' discussion of it too! Canute's fighting god line does go hard but definitely agree with Einar the most out of everyone here. I did see that Canute saying watch me stop the waves was actually something the real King Canute in real life did, but the context surrounding it was different. Excited for the penultimate and finale episodes and your guys' reactions of it
Reminds me When Thorkell raged towards to Asgeir and almost Thorkell kill him.
Asgeir told Thorkell to, "You may kill me right here, but you can't be killed, If you die, who the hell can get rid of those 500 savages to be organized?"
Now Canute is in the situation just like Thorkell led the savages.
If they were abandoned by the god, who could save them from the limbo?
Man what an episode
Fun fact: real king Canute or Cnut tried to stop the waves to showhis underlings that king is not divine. After that he stopped wearing his crown in honour of God
Right. It was not done in defiance to God.
Both Thorfinn and Canute have the same goal, just completely opposite approaches. Wonderful writing!
What a season, and looking forward to Thorfinn next episode being a favorite part of mine. So many moments in this series and having to wait for season 3 is gonna be rough, but will pay off.
Ash your hair is so pretty!💗another great episode🙌👑
Thorfinn is an inspiration in my own life, no joke. Ever since I read this arc I've tried to incorporate his "I have no enemies" approach. It's difficult at times but seldom is anything worthwhile in life easy.
I'd say the same for myself, as well! It's definitely changed my perspective on a lot of things and kind of helped me take a step back when im upset or angry with people/situations. Forever thankful for VS. -ash
it's interesting that you think the power went to his head. He literally just made a "show" and his entire point was even though he controls so many men he still is powerless,i would say that he has ambition and is trying to reach his goal by ANY means necesary. Canute needs to realise that his way of doing thing will eventually cause his demise as it already has a great toll on his sanity.
I mean he keeps seeing his father decapitated head and actually talking to it....Although since Thorfinn is seeing Askeladd and i REFUSE to believe that it isn't the real one it might just be magic stuff.......yes i'm serious...no you can't change my mind Askeladd is still here.
Thorfinn took like 70 punches to the face then was like "Y'all wanna be friends?"
He truly is the best.
My dude getting emotional! It was a great episode; Thorfinn really taking the hard high road
PPL love the rants! ya silly
The power definetly hasn't gone to Cnut's head, not yet atleast. He only shows how powerless he is against the natural order of things. The real king Cnut did it as humbling act, to show his men that kings aren't divine beings and he stopped wearing his crown after that to submit to God as he was a devout christian, but thats obviously not the case here.
13:20 Right there he could? Bruh, Thorfinn is unarmed, beated up, surrounded by one really good army and Einar is no warrior. Let's be real, there's no magic to be used so he could kill him.
هل تسمي هذا ردة فعل !
Bro i just can't believe Thorfinn just came and said " can you leave the farm ? " lol that's kinda funny like i thought he's gonna say some deeper things .
I mean realistically nothing could change Canute's mind
Well, in the begining they had small talk about the past and what they feeling and then went straight to business.
I was also expecting this big mushy wushy speech from Thorfinn but I guess we'll see next ep
"Can you not? Please leave" Honest and direct lmao.
first
This episodes dialog between Cante, Thornfinn, and Einar is epic and explains today's relationship between The Kings of Europe and how they colonized and treated Africa and its people. For the longest Africa has welcomed Europe into their country saying to Europeans we have no enemies and we welcome you, but have grown tired of the abuse, wars, robbing, killing, raping, and destruction (colonization) of it's people and like Einar; have had enough of Europe's shit and are fight back for their future, ancestors, and children.
Would Canute really go to different continents? And even if he did we seen him clearly not be like those europeans, the thing would be the problematic future
