The 90's had a trend of the colored plastic jewel cases. Alice In Chains' third self titled album came in green and purple. Living Colour's album "Stain" came in red plastic, and Biohazard's "State of the World Address" came in orange with the biohazard symbol printed in black on the front of the case. I'm sure there are other examples that I'm forgetting, but those are the ones that always stand out for me, especially since I still have the AIC and Biohazard CDs in my collection.
Physical Graffiti had to be expensive. I know that must bands had to cover the cost of the Packaging. After the success of Led Zeppelin II (12 million copies, number one for seven weeks) the band asked the label to cover the costs of the albums. Led Zeppelin III was expensive with the wheel insert.
Not just that, but starting with Houses Of The Holy they also had sturdy inner sleeves and In Through The Out Door had the bag, the sleeve variations and the watercolor inner sleeve.
So here's my burning question why did the police do 36 variations for synchronicity on one hand it's a super genius idea but on the other hand some copies looked fantastic while others looked pretty messy and downright weird if anyone out there has any history of why they did this please do share
I'm not through the video yet, but I doubt anyone will mention this anyway - the first Durutti Column came in a sleeve made of sandpaper so it would ruin the albums near it. Great record, too!
Like A Prayer- Madonna. Every album and CD was patchouli scented as soon as the shrink wrap was removed
Same as The Raspberries first album. It was scratch & sniff

Lou Reed - Set the Twilight reeling is another example. Great album btw.
Not a music album but Cheech and Chong's Big Bambu album was like a big rolling paper package with a giant rolling paper inside.

About Sticky Fingers, I actually inserted a piece of carton tucked in in front of the cover with the zipper area cut out so it would be even.
The CD of Marduk's "Panzer Division Marduk" has a thick metal shield emblem.
@erorufurakku6378 yes, it was the first pressing edition
Pearl Jam - Vitalogy / No Code, Digi Paks
Split Enz - True Colours had 4 different colour combos on the album cover in addition to the laser etching.
I've got the 45 RPM single too! I should have pulled it to show
@@thecontrarians2438 is that etched, too?
I like Warrior on the Edge of Time which folded out into a big shield.

I have that Superman 2 soundtrack with the laser etching on the vinyl. Found it at Half Price Books for $7
I see all your choices, and raise you a 'Blue Monday', by New Order. Egregious that no one mentioned it.
Very interesting episode !
Captain fantastic by elton john. Detailed expensive album cover and it came with 2 booklets inside. Definitely cost some $$

hilarious!
Big bambu by cheech and chong. Came with a huge rolling paper
Replacements - Stink
Actually, Stink was not expensive at all - quite the opposite. Just a blank white sleeve and a stamp made out of a potato and some ink. Brilliant idea
This was a cool episode but it seemed very rushed, especially towards the end.
We had to be done in an hour
@@Jamie.Laszlo Just curious. What’s the reason for episodes being done in under an hour?
I had another show at 8PM
Cmon watchers leave likes on their videos
Thanks Marty!
Cheech & Chong - 'Big Bambu'
Included huge rolling paper.🫠
