Damn man! This was the largest band I ever seen! I think I counted 30 tubas alone!🤯
SWAC is about "tubas flex" ... i have long said this.
the other college divisions dont count each other tubas. the number of Drum Majors or dancers is their flex of choice.
Southern University is the main antagonist of this. they would drown out the other bands and even stadium PA system. now all the SWAC bands got FOMO. 😂

@@cinnamonstar808 my school is now in the swac do to covid but we were MEAC. But we used to do the same thing lol the other bands couldn’t even be heard. We’re we’re endzone to endzone with 10-12 drum majors #1887🐍
I think last year Jackson State had I think 33-34 tubas

@@anandpatel8767 popularity and actual skill set/showmanship are two different things. PV Marching Storm will ALWAYS be top tier/top 3 when it comes to that. We not even gonna talk about drumlines, because nobody is ever outplaying and out performing the legendary McFunk BOX! 🥁🎺🎷

I'm a SU fan but when it comes to entrance cadences PV hands down is on another level. There drumline never stops playing which is the best part. There energy is unmatched. The DM's are legit as well.

They GOOOD BUT nothing on my hbcu #FAMU lol but damn y’all band HUGEEEEE. I remember when we were this big. Oh how I just love the vibe and joy that comes from all hbcu’s tho. A place to be free of norms and be black beautiful and human with no scrutiny.

I think what I love most about PVAMU drum majors is that they are so consistently good at what they do. They are the definition of good drum majors.

Well 3 out of 6 DM need to stop eating at the Golden Corral! I have never seen PV DM so damn fat. They need to get it together how they pick them DM. I thought it was a height and weight requirement to be a DM. I have never seen SU or even TxSU with a short or a lil healthy DM
Give the heavy folk some.......You have to physically fit to be a drum major regardless of height or weight!!! These are students with classwork,etc. Most schools give 1 hour credit for band. Great job music staff and students!!!!
They have a different style..I love it..
The band is superb, the campus is clean & beautiful and the kids are respectful, helpful and smart! My son finished from PV and I feel that he received a great education! Go PV!! (My alma mater is LU.) Love all of the HBCU's! ❤

Dancing Dolls are more popular and classy ,smooth and elegant than all...but love PV.. stingettes a little bit too ghetto for me
@@rover7139 Agree! Thanks he Dolls are my favorite, but I like the other teams as well. I also like the Golden Girls; however, I don’t like the leg opening thrusts they do. I think it’s a little over the top.
@@rover7139 DISAGREE: they are not ghetto; they are not doing anything that have not been done for thousands of years. THEIR ART IS PRECISE. which is why their style is popular.💖even with high school bands.

Stingettes adheres more to the SWAC culture. if they are ghetto then all the SWAC teams are ghetto . ASU said it again "𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝒶𝒾𝓃𝓉 𝒮𝒲𝒜𝒞 !!"🤭
PV is run by an ex- DOLL; and every year she turns their style more 'Doll-like' = which why you like it.\
as you can see the white-gloves are on.
Ditto: TXSU hired another ex-Doll in management and its slowly becoming 'doll like " in the halftime show.

Wow! Loved the Smooth formation into one line and those cymbals. I had family attend there. Both are financially spiritually and personally successful. I love seeing my great people like this. Even though I'm from NOLA, I gotta give ALL PROPS TO PV.

Time flies. I remember being a band nerd in the Storm and caring about negative comments and trash talk towards PV way back when. Fast forward 11 years later, I could care less. 😂
Always makes me laugh now when I read negative shyt because I know I used to one of the first to defend PV. Guess that's part of growing up lol. I'm down with PV first and foremost but I love to see other HBCU bands do well also. 🥂
This is my favorite badass band. I will be in Dallas, Tx next Saturday (9/25) to see them play Grambling University at the State Fair Classic.

The most classiest, iconic and energetic drum cadence around! No one does it like PVAMU! All aspects of your marching band are on point! Your drum cadence just win…hands down against any other drum cadence from any other band. I’m mesmerized!!

Love all HBCUs. I'm a graduate of an HBCU, in addition to many of my family members.
Nobody sleep on PV, I know southern and jsu get more praise then any band but don't sleep on PV, ALABAMA A&M YALL CAN GO TO SLEEP THOUGH
Alabama State University is definitely on the top 5 list.
