Tysm this helped me lots!! I was in gymnastics for 3 1/2 years but had to quit cuz i moved away and there are no gyms near me😢 but I could never do my pullover. I did it ONCE and couldnt do it again without spotting. I've still tried to stretch whenever I can so I dont lose my flexibility. But this video helped so much!! Im using the bar on the playground by my house😂
Thanks so much! I have 0 bar skills. I'm going to try the kick approach. I now realize that I haven't been been moving my hips and have been throwing my head back!
I can do all kinds of pull-ups and toes to bar straight legs exercises, but can’t do this. I think the wrist turn was the part I was missing. I will try this when I go back to the park.
I’m very close to my pull over and I have gymnastics today and I want to be put on novas because last time I send I was really upset I was in per team but if u get my pullover I can be in novas
Hi! Is there any drills for people who don’t have bars? I only have gymnastics twice a week, no bars at home, and it’s winter so I can’t use the bars in my local parks (+ I’m too short for them…) but I really wanna get my pullover 🥺
I do gymnastics for my physical activity but I can’t get myself over the bar when I do a pullover. I know literally everything else (bars beam floor ya name it, I just have trouble with my handsprings and tucks) The bar is like 1 head taller than me, and I am TINY. I can barely do a pullover but I’m scared to tell my coach it’s too high cause then she’s gonna like move me down to level 1 or just tell me to drop and give her 20 because I’m not “strong enough”
Maybe suggest to your coach to get a panel mat for you to stand on? I know adjusting the bars for one gymnast is kind of hard to do when there is a time constraint. You should be able to bring it up to your coach without getting in trouble or being punished with conditioning. If that is the case then I hope that you can express your concern to the coach that giving push ups for the bar being to high is now an efficient solution. If that doesn't work then after class talk with your parents and hopefully they can advocate for you and speak with your coach. Also if you're doing a pull over and the bar is a head taller than you then that is not the proper height for the bar to be at. I hope this helps and you can work it out!
Thank you so much! I’m so scared to ask her cause again she’ll just say liek “do push-ups” she’s scary 😩 Thank you so so much for your advice I love ur videos they r so entertaining and educational @@coach_christa
I understand you might be frustrated that you are not getting your pullover, but that is NOT because I'm a bad coach. A pullover is not rocket science. It all comes down to strength and being consistent. Let me guess you tried for like 5 minutes and gave up? Sometimes it take gymnasts months to get a pullover. Consistency is key. Also if it's not working then maybe you should join a gymnastics class so that they can tell you exactly what I say in this video.

this is kinda my problem, too. I'd say just working on arm strength, or working on back rolls!

hii I don’t have a bar do you have any tips for without a bar?
I know back roll is a tip
But the floor is helping you
If you don't have a bar there isn't much you can do except strength.
Okay ty for the tip
What if you don’t have the strength
Work out and stretch
Keep it going!
I can't bring my hips to the bar, even when kicking, help me please!
You're probably dropping your chin but if you're not these drills will still help. Pullovers aren't complex this video has everything you need.
Look I had the same issue try talking to your coach they will help you ❤
TYSM YOU
I’m super nervous bc next week Wednesday is testing day😭
Good luck!
Oh my goodness! You are so cute! Thank you for your help!
You're welcome :)
Sadly this did not help I need my hipsss
It’s not working😤 you’re not a good coach
