I remember once some guy uploaded the full album with the title 'NOT In The Court Of The Crimson King'. It had the best, most wholesome comment section i can remember, and everyone was joking on how Robert Fripp couldn't take the video down, until the inevitable came and the Frippman took the video by the end of the month. I just wanted to share this little piece of history.
My favorite time is when someone uploaded their own acapella version of In The Court Of Crimson King just to avoid the Frippman, it was really great lol. The video still get taken down though
i agree but so many of the people don't even appreciate the music and just make low effort memes in the comment section. they act like Jojo invented these songs.
@@zitronensaaft3454 How do you know that they're not appreciating the music? Based on a comment that doesn't say whether they like it or not? And I haven't seen anyone say that a song was invented by JoJo. (I mean I guess there's Ringo Starr's We're on the road again, but they weren't being serious)
Lyrics: The rusted chains of prison moons Are shattered by the sun. I walk a road, horizons change The tournament's begun. The purple piper plays his tune, The choir softly sing; Three lullabies in an ancient tongue, For the court of the crimson king. The keeper of the city keys Put shutters on the dreams. I wait outside the pilgrim's door With insufficient schemes. The black queen chants the funeral march, The cracked brass bells will ring; To summon back the fire witch To the court of the crimson king. The gardener plants an evergreen Whilst trampling on a flower. I chase the wind of a prism ship To taste the sweet and sour. The pattern juggler lifts his hand; The orchestra begin. As slowly turns the grinding wheel In the court of the crimson king. On soft gray mornings widows cry The wise men share a joke; I run to grasp divining signs To satisfy the hoax. The yellow jester does not play But gentle pulls the strings And smiles as the puppets dance In the court of the crimson king.
an italian boss once said "Nessuno può fuggire dal destino scelto. Rimane solo il risultato che voi sarete distrutti. L’eterna cima esiste solo per me. Puoi cantare canzoni di tristezza nel mondo senza tempo."
The song is about war after all, it brings me with the feelings that the phrase of the world stage being set really is true, especially with the current events going on.

There's something truly magical about this Japanese guy, and his love of Western music, connecting so many people around the world... and getting them to listen to things they might never have of before.
Cried to an anime? You sound like a weirdo. Nothing about the show seems coherent, and the community is so die hard and cringe that every song used in the show is riddled with stupid ass references to it.
I came because of JoJo. I stayed because this is a really great song. I love how this show has introduced me to a whole world of classic music I never knew.
"This is a test-- ... Don't you agree... Jean Pierre Polnareff?" "... Test? What are you talking about? Are you high or something?" "Shit, I've skipped my own monologue! Hold up, let me try again. Stay where you are!" "It's not like I can move, but alright I guess?"
You guys complain about Jojo fans but this series has encouraged me to discover rock and metal. I was all linkin park, soad and shit until I asked a question. "What kind of name is Ratt?". Fast forward 2 years I have over 800 songs in my library across multiple genres and eras.
I now understand why David Sniderman keeps spamming "Unrelated." He's trapped in GER's infinite loop. David Sniderman will never reach the reality that is related.
The king himself finally joined the chat and without part 5 I would never have heard about King Crimson and would never have found my favorite band of all time. so thank you for always making a music reference in your series, Araki. Also sorry king crimson fans, raiding the comment section is a specialty of this fandom but it doesn't mean they don't care about the music. some of the people here will find these comments annoying but you have to bear it.

Nothing resists existence, we come from nothingness and we return to it, from a wish we become a regret, without more trace than an illusory name, because even their heroes, invented for the most part, are little more than a trail of ink in their history books. They invented time, to reassure themselves in the face of the inevitable, to quantify respite, but nothing, fortunately, can overcome the end of this sweet madness that is life.

Great version....however, credit is given to all five members of King Crimson at that time as writers. The reality is and to be accurate, the writers were actually Ian McDonald for the music and Peter Sinfield for the words. The same two also wrote "I Talk To the Wind". All the other songs on the first LP were written by all 5 members.
this song is really great, im glad araki picked this song as a stand name for d- -it really fits his mental condition and the dillema he is always in with his othr personality.
I've seen a lot of songs' comment sections filled with people coming from JoJo now... I've never seen tje show but I get the feeling it might be a nice watch since a lot of songs I love seem to be featured in it!
Sebastiano Montrone Definitely worth it. I myself waited a few years before finally watching it, but man was the wait worth it. Just a warning though; Jojo starts off pretty slow...and while not exactly boring....It doesn't exactly show the best if the show. Honestly I'd recommend to start on the 2012, David Productions adaptation of Jojo Part one and two. (Phantom Blood & Battle Tendency) Together they have 26 episodes, part 1 being 9 episodes, and part 2 being the remaining. I say just wait out the first 9, and then it gets better. (NOT to say part 1 is bad, it's just....far better on the re-watching. Think of it as best enjoyed as part of the larger whole.)
One of the most incredible pieces of music ever produced. Each and every aspect of this song is magnificent, and masterfully performed. I've played drums for a bit over a decade now, and it's quite jarring to experience the difference in listening to music before and after becoming a musician. The drums in this piece are spectacular, and even more so once you have an idea of what is happening, and what it takes to achieve this level of skill. I absolutely love this song. I feel so very sorry for the people who have never heard it, and never will. What kind of life can you lead without ever hearing The Court of The Crimson King?
Only six musical notes and yet the nucleic bases of so many melodies around the world, how can we know them all? A song, a music, it’s a bit like a person, you have to have the chance to meet her, then like a person, nothing says that the first contact will be the right one, will we be able to appreciate it? To perceive the beauty of its expression? Will we be worthy of it? After all, music is a panorama that is more or less appreciated, according to a horizon that is personal to us... Best regards

"You are dead"
Lyrics:
The rusted chains of prison moons
Are shattered by the sun.
I walk a road, horizons change
The tournament's begun.
The purple piper plays his tune,
The choir softly sing;
Three lullabies in an ancient tongue,
For the court of the crimson king.
The keeper of the city keys
Put shutters on the dreams.
I wait outside the pilgrim's door
With insufficient schemes.
The black queen chants
the funeral march,
The cracked brass bells will ring;
To summon back the fire witch
To the court of the crimson king.
The gardener plants an evergreen
Whilst trampling on a flower.
I chase the wind of a prism ship
To taste the sweet and sour.
The pattern juggler lifts his hand;
The orchestra begin.
As slowly turns the grinding wheel
In the court of the crimson king.
On soft gray mornings widows cry
The wise men share a joke;
I run to grasp divining signs
To satisfy the hoax.
The yellow jester does not play
But gentle pulls the strings
And smiles as the puppets dance
In the court of the crimson king.

The rusted chains of prison moons
Are shattered by the sun
I walk a road, horizons change
The tournament's begun
The purple piper plays his tune,
The choir softly sing;
Three lullabies in an ancient tongue,
For the court of the crimson king
The keeper of the city keys
Put shutters on the dreams
I wait outside the pilgrim's door
With insufficient schemes
The black queen chants
The funeral march,
The cracked brass bells will ring;
To summon back the fire witch
To the court of the crimson king
The gardener plants an evergreen
Whilst trampling on a flower
I chase the wind of a prism ship
To taste the sweet and sour
The pattern juggler lifts his hand;
The orchestra begin
As slowly turns the grinding wheel
In the court of the crimson king
On soft gray mornings widows cry
The wise men share a joke;
I run to grasp divining signs
To satisfy the hoax
The yellow jester does not play
But gentle pulls the strings
And smiles as the puppets dance
In the court of the crimson king

Thanks for the spoiler man
@I-I-I-I I under stand that my man, but sometimes you just want to see what people say about the stuff you already know you know? The jojo community is very witty and has a lot to say.
When you realize that Diavolo means Devil and DIO means God and thus Part 5 is about the son of God fighting the Devil
oh shit never thought of that
wayyy to dank dud
so does the name king crimson
Wrryyyyyyaaaaa
And dont you realize that "Crimson king" is just another name of the devil itself?

5 almost 6 years ago... this song is so underrated it literally sends chills down my back
The song's almost 50 years old, ah how time flies
Same for me too but the chill goes out from my chest
No one can escape the fate that was chosen for them. All that remains is the end, where you will perish. Eternal greatness exists only within myself. Sing a song of sorrow in a world where time has vanished! *King Crimson! Time will pass on like you to the afterlife!*
Its time. King crimson time. Are you jojo fans ready?
Actually, anime nerds, just gtfo

Every time I hear the first notes of the Mellotron I'm transported right back to 1969 and I'm 16 years old lying across my bed after school, listening to this album and dreaming my life away...
rschiel50 1969 and I see the album cover on an Evanston, Illinois record shop, buying it on the strength of the cover alone.
1971, I have dropped out of Northwestern University Film School and am walking point for Second squad, second platoon, Charlie Company, First Batallion, Twentieth Infantry Regiment, AMERICAL DIVISION. Tell me music can change your life.
it just works
oh oh how we dreamed our lives away. I was 15 in 1969.....What a time to be 15. Marked for life.

R.I.P Zipper Man, murdered in the Cabinet of Emperor Scarlet.
Don't you mean the scarlet ruler?
That's good mate, hope u will like it
Has a slow start but ince it gets going it doesn't stop.
Yeah. Nice having you dude!
Then you must be a great fan of prog rock

Is this the real song? Every other source doesn’t use this one.
Its amazing how many incarnations there are of this band and yet there is something which unites them all
