The end of the video really means “Now that they have become investment level cars the people that actually appreciated them for what they are can no long afford them”. Which sadly is the case with a lot of cars these days.
Exactly what I thought, and I dont get why vinwiki pushes it as a good thing. The only reason people care is because its hot and blasted around on the internet, that doesnt do any favours to the cars or their new owners, we might aswell be talking about nft's at that point
Yeah I was afraid the car I wanted would get too expensive for me to afford so I bought it last year just so I could have it, drive it, and enjoy it. They might not ever shoot up in value but just in case they do I’m already set. It’s a weird world

I agree, in my opinion one of the best and cookest looking cars.
I remember seeing one in Munchen, Germany around 2013 or 14, during a holiday, on a high-end luxury and sports car dealership. Asking price was 90 000 euros if I remember correctly. It's insane how valuable they got nowadays. I would be happy with a regular 300 CE-24. The C124 is one of Mercedes most elegant coupes ever released by them.

The color ...the stance the widebody the seats the wheels all of it ..such a sweet sweet ride ..the cocaine hammer is badass no doubt but this baby ..this baby is the one for me.
A nicely done stance and wide body kit along with the wheels. Nothing like the tasteless stuff they do now.
the blue one is much better equipped than the cocaine hammer. I'm curious side by side what kind of numbers they wouldn't bring. Good chance the blue car could bring 7 figures.
I remember seeing a red AMG Hammer sedan in the 80's on the east coast at a highway rest stop. It looked absolutely stunning then, and as far as I'm concerned, still does to this day. If you haven't seen one, your really missing out. It has a powerful presence like nothing else. This blue AMG hammer coupe looks stunning. Thank you.
I almost bought an AMG Hammer from the Lamborghini dealership in Columbus Ohio around 2007. I think they wanted around $20,000 which for me in my early 20s would have been a lot to pay for an old used Mercedes that was 100% going to be my daily driver, and only car. I want to say that it was a missed opportunity but had I bought that car I would have either driven it into the ground because I couldn't afford to properly maintain it or I would have wrecked it somewhere along the way. I would have had fun driving it though.

@@johnm1008 I did too for a long time. Came to Tennessee several years back and the difference in older (and newer) cars is astonishing. Knowing what I know now I wouldn't have bought half of what I did in Ohio.

A kid i went to middle school with his uncle drove a Mercedes hammer.....they were uh mainly in the importing buisness...some exporting....mainly importing...
I mean good on the guy for trying to enjoy it while he "owned" it, but as others have said here it's just making more vehicles unattainable. Between old sports cars hiking up because rich people have more money than sense, and wannabe drifters smashing every good body panel for every 80's-00's Japanese sports car, to hot rodders doing the same to American muscles and now on to trucks, the average Joe can't even get a 50 year old truck that's 3/4 rusted out for less than 5k.
one guy has some money and the other has more.. This story in a nutshell. Not buying to own it.

I may be in the minority, and it is my opinion, it is a neat car. However, I look at owning this akin to owning a boat. Not for me, better if a friend owns it and I can enjoy it.
The worry, the fragility, expense, the temperamental nature- what real "Fun" is it? Great, you can evoke envy or such from a certain segment of the car community...wow, that's awesome.
I could be wrong, definitely true, but experience with human nature says I'm more right than wrong

I wanted a 300 SL Gullwing in the 1990s I was a kid back then and wanted to save all my money until I could afford a run down broken SL for 50k. And by the time I had the money it was 250k by the time I had that money it was 1 million.... Same happened with the Hammer to many enthusiasts.

Get/don't get it. They're history, rare, part of the AMG legacy on one hand and on the other they're modified, temperamental, money pits that only hold/appreciate so long as people "gotta have it." Too volatile for me if I ever have bonkers cash on hand to start a car collection.
