I think it's the first time I see Ficarra mess up a story... the Excelero was made to test the 23" Fulda tyres at 350 km/h (that's why that size of wheels), and did it in thee south of italy, on the circuit of Nardò.

The Maybach Excelero was (FIA approved) measured in Nardo (italy) doing 351.44 kph which translates to 219.65 mph. So they did actually drive it that fast, well a race driver did. (Klaus Ludwig)

@@jacobl6714 Sometimes things look flimsier than they are. Sometimes racedrivers cope with things that would make us colour our underwear in "earthlike" colours with the "battle sharpie" ;-) . And Sometimes cars get worse when standing around. (tires suspension...)
@@nirfz well yeah for sure. Idk if it looks flimsy or not, though a he pointed out prototype cars tend to be. I was just going off what he said since he saw it in person. Maybe it was just the one-off body panels, it's a Mercedes so I'm sure it was built sturdily enough underneath to go that fast safely lol

As a trucker who worked through covid driving all over the country I can say they didn't relax the regulations. What happened was they pretty much closed all the scales and had less officers patrolling the road. Which means if a trucker is still running paper logs he has a FAR less chance of getting caught cooking his book. So the trucker probably was running very illegally and so he was tired and paid the price when he hit the Mercedes on the shoulder.

A Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG ( R197) would be my favourite Mercedes, but I still love my current vehicle, a 2004 Albaster White (960U) W220 S320 CDI.

That Mercedes is for sure repairable. It would cost somewhere between 15-25k. If you had connections with people in the collision repair industry you could get An estimator at a shop who has a direct repair contract with whoever the insurance company is to help you out. Depending on the value of the car it might not really total anyway, but let’s assume it would. If it would actually take 25k to repair the car, but 20 would put it over threshold of totalling then The estimator could write an estimate for 19,500. You could decide to “not get it repaired” and take the 19.5k. The insurance would issue a check for 19,500 and you could come out of pocket the other 5500 for the repair. That way you would still have a clean title and your car would get fixed.👍

Just for everyone's information they absolutely did not suspend hours of service regulations during covid. Nothing changes for truckers other than that it was basically are impossible for us to get food

Not much i would guess. Hybrids save fuel during stop and go or while drivig slow. While going very fast, all of them have to rely completely on the ICE as the electric power is drained extremely fast.

@@Ben-hg9ql There was a W209 CLK500 listed on MB Market with an obvious mis-aligned entire front clip… Just one example of many!
@@RossEnzo There hasn't been a CLK500 auctioned with them. Not intending to go back and forth but lots of rebuilt cars is a strong statement.
@@Ben-hg9ql It was a 55 actually. And I’ve had a few C209s, that front clip was misaligned on that example. There were uneven gaps between the bumper and the fender

@@haas4262 I know that but recalls defects should not happen my 2002 sprinter has 660K still ran great when I got my 2006 with no problems beyond maintenance and abuse but at 12K leaked like crazy and stupid reoccurring fix offered 20 percent of repair cost and will be class actions again having to wait makes them neglect and guilty of being shity
