I just started playing Sifu when I bought the physical copy last 2 or 3 weeks ago. While it took me some time to learn the other bosses on my own for a Master no death run, this is the only time I desperately need a guide because I wasn't improving vs Yang lol. Big thank you for this guide
Yang is a pain in the ass and I am trying to beat him as a 75 years old and You die really fast to the most insignificant mistake So I will be happy if that Video truly helps understanding his moves better. Also, 3 weeks and you already attempt a no death run on the master difficulty ??? Thats fast 👏🏼
“Reaction over anticipation” , 100% ! Don’t go in trying to predict his moves, you will get destroyed. Choose your aggression wisely, and be ready for his parries. Also the chip damage in his raining strikes is insane.
Yang really baffles me the first time I fought him. I've always fought very aggressively since figting Kuroki because it has always worked for me, but when I faced him, I got humbled so hard I went from 30's to my late 70's. I fought him myself again and won (barely) then watched your video about him and its really eye opening. Also, I praise the lords of wude, update 1.11 fix a bit of lag on stage 1, it even crashed the unreal engine once so that I can send a crash report which would hopefully fix my game
Oh Wow, so it really was poor optimization all along ? That truly sucks And I hope you are able to fight that man more efficiently now You can play aggressively against him if you are on edge the whole time and keep in mind that he can counter you
Nice vid ! My 2 cents. If you dodge 2 attacks in a row, he'll go backing off. You can then attack once, he'll dodge and go for his "crotch punch" you can dodge and counter. On phase 2 dodging twice triggers his low sweep. You can pretty much loop him in his counters and react accordingly. As you said, he is a beast at punishing your mistakes.
I know this is a super late comment but I wanted to chime in and tell you that how grateful I am for these tips. The videos are really informative and helpful but I would suggest breaking the tips into different segments or have some sort of transition in the video for different parts. Again, they are super helpful but the videos feel a bit like an info dump and don't flow while watching. Mad skills btw. Keep up the good work!
Just beat Yang on my 1st (blind) playthrough on Master Difficulty at Age 36. I am feeling proud, this gives me such a high! Also got the Wude ending later. Your videos really helped, thanks. I will begin the arena challenges now and again refer to your videos for guidance.
yang is a menace, he just never stops punishing you. first time he took 30 years from me in phase 1... but he can be cheesed with backfist+ raining strikes repeatedly phase 2 only cost me 1 death
Yang is definitely the hardest boss now. The fact that no matter what I tried, It was not possible to stun him is outrageous His chin might be Tougher than Chris Rock’s
@@louispreece9135yes, backfist is holding triangle. All you need is to get the right timing to use backfist. It took a few times to understand when I should release the triangle to stun him (when he slowly approaches you and attack animation starts playing - release the triangle)
one thing to clarifiy (if you did, i didnt notice) its that out of his 3 counters, he only doees crotch if he DODGES, so if he ddoges you its 100% crotch punch. with that preparation in mind you could even parry it. timing is the same as the unpunishable counter.
Yang is pretty hard. My first playthrough I got beat so hard by yang I had restart pretty far back to get a younger age. He makes you rethink how good you are at the game.
Lool I feel you Sometimes people ask about the proper age to get to him. The truth is, there is no proper age but the younger the better. You can go there at age 20 and still lose to him He truly is amazing
The most dangerous combo I've struggled with the most is the phase 2 uppercut into a body shot which then leads into either a roundhouse kick or a low sweep. If you play overly aggressive Yang will side strafe and perform lightning strikes and sometimes the body shot which again leads to the 50/50, the safest play is to dodge backward as soon as you have dealt with the body shot, then do a snap kick directly after. You can do a crotch punch to duck his backfist and get a free shot in. Flowing claw and crotch punch can be used to counter various of his attacks, you can experiment with it in training if you want, but it's usually not the most effective strategy, it's just extra flair points. For example, the attack that Sifu never taught you can be countered with a well timed flowing claw on the first strike Yang does (when he charges toward you), it will interrupt the attack. These tips are not really needed if you just want to beat him, but I want to look cool so I make the fight more painful than it needs to be. If you want to play aggressive then you need to be focused the whole fight and play alot off of reaction. I've also figured out a cheese if anyone is interested it should work for phase 1 and 2. In phase 1 if you charge up a backfist Yang will try to stop you with a hook intercept, but if you let it fly as soon as you see his animation start you'll stun him and get some free hits in, then as soon as he starts blocking again you charge up another one and should be an infinite stunlock. In phase 2 it's the same thing except he does either the snap kick or uppercut, however if he's been on the defensive for too long he'll perform a side strafe into lightning strikes, but you can backfist that one too with good timing so it should be an infinite stunlock too. It's just something I've found but kind of a boring strat.
✨Really good breakdown and Strat ✨ About that Problematic combo, I figured you can start punching him right after he performa the uppercut and it will stop whatever he is about to do, since it will most likely lead to the 50/50
@@Djisso Yeah imo it's the main attack you need to look out for in phase 2. Master really is no joke, it's almost like learning the game for the first time 😅
@@Djisso As long as a higher one brings more complex movesets on enemies, rather than just giving them hyper armour on most of their attacks and more 50/50s, feels slightly lazy, allthough I think master is overall good, it has it's problems, for example if you do a crooked foot you can't cancel the animation which most of the time means you get hit by another enemy. Excited for DLC aswell, if it ever comes it's likely we're getting to play as Yang in a prequel, main objectives are probably going to be the assassinations of the other Sifu masters since we found a planning board in level 4.
I had to rebind my block key to mouse5 since my spacebar is too old for me to block fast enough. It took me WAYY too long to realise my spacebar was the problem so for anyone who maybe thinks he isnt blocking well try switching the keybind
I’m trying to get my first no death run yang is frustrating as shit, also the fact that I have to go through the level to reach him and get shit on so quickly makes me mad. His 2nd phase is easier since he’s aggressive as shit and leaves himself open a lot, 1st phase is weird he stays back a lot which makes it hard.
Here’s a tip for no death Runs If you feel like you are able to lose the fight and you really dont want to die, you can go to the menu and quit the game. When you press continue, you will get brought back with full health, right before the fight And when he stays back during his first phase, taunting will make him attack you immediately
@@Djisso I did your trick but it spawns me with the amount of health I had before the last shrine, So like if I had half hp and healed myself at the shrine before fighting him, my hp will be half if I restart and I don’t get the shrine to heal myself back to full hp.

I can get up to him pretty reliably, but I always lose to him. Your guides for the other bosses have really helped and hope to put this one to use as well!
You can only throw him when he is “super stunned”. The best way to get there is to punish him consecutively until you hear something with ressembles a bell. In the master difficulty, he is quite invasive which is why it is better to let him come to you as opposed to randomly throwing hands
Oh You can develop here, that way when people look up the video, they are most likely to see your comment about a specific boss they are having trouble against
I somehow beat Yang after more than 50 attempts 😂 to finish at age 20…by the way can you do a guide on how to get the crooked foot move the right way ?
Lol 50 tries ? I admire the perseverance 👏🏼 And when It comes to crooked foot, it will be overkill to make a video just for that one skill since it is pretty explanatory. You need to Hold Heavy post parry. The difficulty comes from identifying what kind of parries can lead to a crooked foot And I can categorize them in two groups. The first Kind of Parry is a soft one, it gives you room you hit back but the enemy is most likely going to have follow-up attacks. So the crooked foot can’t be perform there The second type is the heavy Parry which can completely stop the enemy. And that’s the one you want to look for since it gives you enough time to input the hold on Heavy You can parry all of Yang’s moves but only 2 strings can be punished with CF
@@siddhantdas1069 If the problem isn't that you haven't unlocked it, it's likely you're waiting too long after the parry-stun has happened, you need to hold the heavy attack button immediatly after a succesful heavy parry, which most of the time means that you basically have to know which attacks you can heavy parry so you can hold heavy attack as soon as possible.
