I've been in this city on the way to Sweden from London..long time ago, in 1992. But we couldn't see much of this city ..because we didn't have enough time . I am glad I can see and enjoy more today. Thank you 💖🧓
It sounds like you had a good trip in 1992. I suppose there were so many other better known places to stop at on your trip. There are so many lovely places, especially at this time of year.

Thanks for your kind comments. Lubeck is a particularly enjoyable place to visit at any time of the year but the Christmas markets do add wonderful atmosphere. Plenty of sound, light and colour in the darker days.
Glad you enjoyed this. The "castle" at the start is just one gateway of the former massive fortifications which surrounded Lubeck, most of which were dismantled. It is a very impressive entrance to the old town and the view to the towers of the many churches is just wonderful. Lubeck is one of many wonderful old German towns that are enhanced at this time of year by all the colour and atmosphere of Christmas.

We were stranded a few days near Ordu as there was a fuel shortage. We were on our way to explore the mountains near Hakkari. It was a great adventure for us. Yes, things were very different. We are really missing our trips to the Christmas markets. This year we had planned to end our trip with five nights in Vienna but just five days before we were to set off on our three week trip Austria went into lockdown followed by the cancellation of many German markets. Hopefully next year will be better for us all.
