Okay people of the interwebs, I know you have been waiting for this one. Sedona was amazing for the last three months but I am honestly stoked to be back home in the Colorado high-country. #followcamfriday with James Weingarten on Denver's second directional DH trail. Thank you Clear Creek County, let's hope this trend continues. Floyd Hill Open Space delivering the rock-smash that the people are asking for. Which way do you guys prefer the upper "north loop"? I think clockwise is my jam. Спорт
Thoughts on "bike-only" directional DH trails? I say we need more of this. Kudos to Floyd Hill Open Space.
There is a place similar to this in Spokane that we are fighting to keep for mtbing. Its called Beacon Hill.
Absolutely needed. More directional DH trails with no risk of hikers and bikers having angry clashes or getting hurt.
Need as many of these as possible.
YEAH!! Use specific trails...top shelf.
And the tail crews...fantastic work 🤘
Yes definitely. Hopefully Idaho Springs approves Virginia Canyon Mountain Park which the would include a few more bike specific directional trails.
Also should be corrected that Denver has nothing to do with Floyd Hill. Denver Mountain Parks/Denver Parks & Rec are pretty difficult to work with and have been against bike specific trail development on their mountain properties. This is all Clear Creek County Open Space in conjunction with partners like JeffCO Open Space, Team Evergreen, COMBA, Yeti, and others. Nothing to do with Denver City/County other than a place for those residents to drive ~30 miles west to and ride.
I've used this trail to test out bikes for videos and always chuckle when someone says "That's not even a black diamond!". You've really got to see this trail in person the appreciate how much work the builders put into it.
Solid single black in my opinion. It is definitely a work of art and has many hours of love into it. Super fun.
This has to be the flawless mtb’ing on the interweb. I know If I rode that, at that pace, I would’ve been hospitalized at least a dozen times.
Christ, James is an animal. Always on the edge watching him ride.
I love the directional stuff. Allows mountain bikers to shred without worrying about upsetting hikers or uphill traffic. I live down in the springs and we have a few places between Ute Valley and Stratton Open Space and the change has been awesome!
I have heard that CO springs is working on the directional thing more. Nice to hear!
This trail looks rad! Can’t wait for our next Denver trip, this is now on the must do list!!!
Nate, what I saw was pure flow. You both made the trail look amazing, the footage is great!!! Those hucks off of those rocks are sick! Thank you!!!
Cheers Eric, thanks for watching.
FollowCamFridays are the best days! You still set the bar for mtn bike riding videos. Thanks for sharing all of these awesome trails with us!
Thanks for pointing out all the lines I haven't been hitting 🤣
Love the guy doing all the manuals!
What a wicked fun, techy trail system. Love watching James just flow down those nasty sections. Definitely try to stop there on my next trip that way. Cheers guys!
Definitely make a point to stop and check it out.
Nate! Glad to see you're back in Colorado! Though that extended COVID-19 sabbatical you spent in Arizona was so helpful. I work in medicine in Vail and it was so mentally helpful to see folks staying safe but still shredding. Thanks for that.
Thanks for all that you do to help people! Happy to provide a temporary release from the chaos.
Finally! Been waiting for you to show me how to ride some of these lines. Awesome stuff.
Love the multi-shots with the POV and drone over the same sections, and the sessioning detail; would love a little more of both. James Weingarten's movement is super-instructive.
I would say that riding was two levels beyond, “next level action!” James, hats off, you dialed that ride to true perfection. Loved how you air out across some of the tight turns to hold speed. Great camera work too, drone, TPV on the sick zones was great! All I can say is holy Sh#*! OMG my palms got sweaty and I don’t use chalk climbing! DANG!
very rocky and technical but for you guys very enjoyable and playful, cheers V!
Great stuff there, liking the footage showing you going over the big drops and rocks.
Floyd Hill is super fun and you guys gave it a proper smashing! Definitely clockwise on the North Loop, that way you go down all the fun rocky bits.
I am of the same opinion. More smashing in that general direction.
I don’t see Sluice in trail forks. Is it a pretty obvious trail sign. I plan on going this weekend...
@@havenwisner6776 Look up Floyd Hill Open Space in Trailforks and you'll see The Sluice. The signage is good in the whole park. I recommend going up Floyd's Loop (West) because it's not as steep, plus it puts you on the backside which is pretty in the trees.
Great video and an awesome trail. It's always good to see natural rock features being put to good use on the trail.
One unique trail you got there. I'm speachless.
As always, refreshing videos. Thank you.
Great Video!!!! That looks like so much fun!!!! Excellent control of the bike!!!!!
So sick. Some of those boulders seem perfectly placed to the point of suspicion 👽
Labor of love for sure.
Impossible to not get amped up to ride after watching this video.
Such awesome sick riding guys! Cheers
Enjoy the weekend.
Those big rock sections look so sick!!
some sick trails! first trail looked so cool with all the options.. u guys were shredding.. Yewwwww!
Been waiting for these Colorado videos. Keep them coming. Love all your videos. My favorites are the Colorado and BC videos. All are fucking phenomenal though. Thanks so much for sharing Nate. Your work continues to inspire me and many people across the world.
More peeps on bikes!
Natural rock bike park! Sweet ride once again Nate.
Lines are looking pretty big there! Good to see follow cam Friday back in the home state!
Stoked to be home.
Pretty dope! Awesome video dood, as always!
Finally in Denver hit this last night with friends epic man hit all the features and hard lines first time
Jamie... crushing it!!! Great stuff Nate
So sick, thanks for showing this rookie the good lines.
Yo, I’ve seen maybe 50% or less of your FCF videos but I cannot think of one gnarlier. This is so good.
Hucking to flat like 20yos- Awesome! Great job on the edit-your time spent on the PC is greatly appreciated!
Always to flat. never not! ha
awesome! just rad from start to finish! 🤙
This place looks amazing!
Hell of a trail 🔥 James was ripping!
Love #followcamfridays with James 🤙
Legend.
Heading there later this week, super excited. Awesome video.
Have fun!
@@natehills9388 Went today - the downhill section is cool, but I almost feel it's too short for the amount of climbing you do before hand. Time wise it's maybe 10% of the loop. That being said, I think they did a great job with this trail overall. Will have to hit the north loop next time.
Super fun little trial,
lots of nice lines to choose from.
Variety, spice of life.
Yes! Good to see Mr. Loves Back Wheel again. Been a minute!
Also missing my bru.
That’s was bad ass, two of my favorite bikes smashing . Yeti and the Santa 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
You guys ride so well that it almost looks unreal. How can anybody give you a thumbs down,,
Another YUMMY trail :) Love IT
Crazy! As someone who is just starting, I would NEVER think to ride a bike down any of those sections that almost look more suited for rock climbing XD
Been waiting for this one! The north loop is sick!
Which way do you prefer to ride the North Loop?
@@natehills9388 I've only done it counterclockwise like you did but in retrospect it looks more fun to go clockwise for some of those rock features.
DANG!! You boys be KILL'N it!!
The Sluice trail is wicked!!
no way! floyd hill is my favorite place to ride!
Thoses looked like so much fun
Didn’t know about this trail, gonna check it out.
Great looking trail! We hope Pete is doing well!
Молодцы ребята, респект и уважение вам. Красавчики что музло не вставляете в ролик,звуки велосипеда, трансмиссии и звуки камней намного приятнее с таким классным видосом!
That edit might make me a Patreon. Sick. Just a ho-hum blind bomb drop at 3:30. WU-TANG!
Thanks for the support amigo.
This trail is a work of art.
awesome dude!
the middle part of trail --> awesome :)
He is for me the best guy you follow.
Super Top video jajajajaj. Now I feel big motivated to get on the trail myself, what gets me going the longest while bike is *Delta Parole* or other rokk music!
Wow super nice video bro ✌🏻
Damn that's awesome dude
Awesome riding, rocks makes for more adrenaline.
Pushed my ribs in on one once, more respect to the rocks now, they hard. 😁👍🏻
Awesome Sauce! 🤙🤙🤙
James is a sick rider!
James is a legend
that step down at 3:29 is my nemesis... you made it look so easy, like it wasn't even there, and I cannot make myself drop it, at all...
That thing is smooth. Stack it✊🏽
@@ImWorthAPenny523 thanks... i keep telling myself that. it's just having the cojones to launch it. i may just have to try and roll it once or twice to get a feel, and then maybe jump.
Simply sick
That's some serious rocky road ice cream.
Wonderfull ! 👌
one of the best!
Hi, Nate 🤙 Nice 🤘😎🤘 trail 🤙 🚴 super video 🚴💯🤙
I conflicted about bikes only trails in that I've been doing a bunch of hike a bike trails in the White mountains on what are typically hiking trails. It would really suck if they changed the use to hikers only. But I completely understand the challenges of shared use. Awesome jank by the way and James is something to watch.
this one was purpose built for bikes. That is the difference between old trails that are designated for an alternate use, and a newly created trail situation. Completely agree with you.
thats pretty sick trail
James is back yay! Awesome trail network there and great to see James back in your vids
Legend.
@@natehills9388 you are both legends. I dont mean to belittle any of the other friends/riders that all have amazing talents -you are all phenomenal, but James wins. Keep crushing it man
How the heck did I miss this one? This was awesome. First part was too technical for me but the loops looked nice.
Nice! Very cool. I like the idea
Nate - ever consider doing a bike check video on each guy you follow? Alex, Lars, James etc! It’d be pretty cool to know more since we get to watch them so much
Thanks for the vids man!!
Unfortunately as a professional sponsored athlete, that doesn’t really work for my situation. But I like where your head is at. Always interesting to geek out and bike tech. 🤙🏼
Nate Hills gotcha! Thank you for your response and keep killin it!
I rode that trail, BUT I did not look like that and neither did the trail You found ALL the B-Lines. Nate and James (my favorite follow cam rider) rocked that playground!
I think you mean that we rode all the A lines.... Ha ha.
@@natehills9388 so true! I rode the B lines (main path). You guys rocked it.
Really hope the Apex park get its bike only days worked out. You guys tore floyds hill up!
Nate this is one of the Best videos ive ever watched of yours or any mtb video! Colorado looks awesome pines,ROCKS and more ROCKS and drop offs! A change from pnw dirt and fir trees. What video recorders you guys use? Great job dude! ps my sister lived in aurora for 35 years!
It hurts my arms just to look at this trail.
Thanks for sharing! Was really hoping to see some footage from the canyon view loop dead end section. It's narrow, super fast, full of jumps and little margin for error. Did you ever venture down it? and play around on the "rock line" section too?
sweet!
Can i ask what drone u used for the beginning of thos video where it followed u guys? Absolutely beautiful 🙌🏻 i will be hitting these trails this summer for sure i live in south Aurora
Idk what's more more sketch the huck to flat on the big drop or the berm right after
yeah! 👍
Wow!
@9:22 Sick line!
Love from India❤
I hit this trail (I'm a beginner) and can't wait to go back. Any tips for the Gopro presets? Your footage looks awesome.
Glad you put this out. Heading to Trestle and Floyd in a couple of weeks! Easy to lap Floyd?
Nice. Super easy to lap. 800' mellow climbing trail to the top. Laps on laps.
@@natehills9388 Thanks dude!
So... That's how you run that!!
You can't be human, going this balls out on trails like this without crashing, haha
What makes a good friday? Nate the Great and Wiengarden F yeah
Just for you buddy.
I was getting tired of the El Camino jk cool vid this week.
Planned smashed by Corona for Colorado this summer. Waiting for flight resumption from Singapore once we can subdue this CoVid19
Those alternate lines are friggin' sick! Did you sweat a little flying the drone around the power lines?
The drone stays really close to me so it honestly isn’t much of an issue. My life will get easier if it exploded, LOL
Very spicy
As long as your in the area you should go check out Cub Creek trail in Conifer, Tough climb but super rowdy descent!
Thanks for the beta. Haven’t heard of that one before.
I hate to say but your film is most interesting when you ride with james.
