    I had the great pleasure of honor of having dinner with Empress Farah and His Majesty the Shah; this was during their exile and it was at my aunt´s house, who was their neighbor. I wasn’t expecting anything special but when I arrived at her house my aunt told me about her guests. What a nice and loving couple they were! The Shah a quiet man and his lady used to all him Dad in a loving manner. An unforgettable and intimate event with only the four of us talking like neighbors do. Later on the couple moved to Morocco and I didn’t have the chance to see them again. May God bless them and Iran become a free country again.

      I read your post glad to know you were able to meet him and had a good time. I'm not anti Iranian, but the man you met was different than the man that ruled this country through his secret police the SAVAK. Here is a RUclips video of how he threw a party in the desert to celebrate twenty five hundred years of Persian History and King of Persia Cyrus the Great. This party was believed to have cost somewhere between ninety million dollars to a billion dollars. This while most people in Iran suffered from grueling poverty. Once word of this party spread to the common people there was unrest. Just before he was overthrown a riot had broken out in which thousands were shot and killed. The Shah gave the army or the police carte blanche to do whatever they wanted to do. This was the final straw resulting in the overthrow of his government and subsequent exile. ruclips.net/video/6aF0UqC0J48/видео.htmlsi=b80nkBN55EHn80Eg

      @@RichardSparks-qy2rd Although I am an Israeli who suffers from the Iranian state run by the extreme Moslems - especially lately... due to their hate policy towards Israel, I also wanted to comment that people forget now that Iran under the Shah's regime was a corrupt state that did indeed not care about the people but mostly about money and fame in the world... (Naturally they cooperated with the west at the time, unlike now)
      Therefore - even people who were not extreme Muslims at the time supported the overthrow of the royal family thinking that a change will be good for the people and the country.... Later of course they regretted their support... (I once read a very interesting book about that period. Maybe by the name "The Last Shah". )
      Now - as one can see in some comments here - they would love to have the royal family come back... So would we in Israel and the USA... but it is doubtful it will become a democracy if this happens.

    • @shazbk7616
      @shazbk7616 Месяц назад +10

      @@RichardSparks-qy2rd@RichardSparks-qy2rd With all due respect, I want to clarify a couple of points regarding your comments about the Shah and the so-called "party in the desert." That was not a party, it was a national celebration recognizing the 2500 year monorchy in Iran. The celebrations only cost around 32 million dollars. Roughly in today's money, that would be 222 million US dollars. Every nation in the world celebrates some kind of patriotical event that represents their culture or independence. In fact as a result of the 2500 year celebrations billions of dollars of foreign investment was generated in Iran. I say that was excellent business sense, wouldn't you? Iranians were not poor as you say in your comment. Iran at the time was the most developed and economic power in the region. Savak was not the Shah's secret police to kill his own people. Savak was a government entity much like FBI or CIA in the US. Its number one job was to fight communism, terrorism, and protect the interests of the state. You said that thousands died in a single day during a riot. That is absolutely false. Unfortunately there were some deaths less than 100 people lost their lives but that was in a span of over a year of rioting. If the Shah was a dictator as his enemies make him to be then he would have stayed in and not left Iran. He could have ordered the army to start mass killings of the people, he had that option, but he did not do that, in fact the most extraordinary proof that the Shah was not a brutal dictator is because he left Iran voluntarily by abdicating his throne in favor of his people. He did not want to stain his throne with the blood of his people. I say that is pretty noble. Which dictator in history has done that? The RUclips video you mention in your comment is just another Western propaganda designed to smear the Shah and make him look evil. Please do your homework before you write something that could potentially be devisive.

    Iranian people followed French fashion, almost at the same time with other European countries, when King Reza Pahlavi became king of Persia. King Mohammad Reza Pahlavi (Shah of Iran), never send his soldiers to kill demonstrators and he left Iran because Jimmy Carter and other European leaders wanted him to leave so they can put an Islamic government in his place. King Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, exiled Iran without fighting, because he didn’t want any bloodshed!

      Praying is always a good thing. And walking around in a bikini as a queen is really weird.
      We all make mistakes. Sounds like the lady has grown up since then.
      As for genocide, I'm having a hard time helping you with that.
      The soldiers I know leave their families, put on uniforms and go into hell. They know they may die and leave a widowed wife and orphaned children. They know they can lose legs and arms or their sanity. And they still go. Not to destroy another people. And not to grab land. They go because they know that if they don't go the next massacre could be of their family.
      If you choose to call it genocide, I can't help you with that.
      I personally call it a horribly fucked-up war with an unimaginable amount of victims. And like all wars the soldiers and civilians on both sides are victims of corrupt leaders who sow hatred to gain power.

Isreal has no business in getting involved with Her Majesty and His Imperial Highness. They have this little issue called GAZA! It makes absolutely no sense. The majority of these issues are because of religion. Why would they help them? That would be ridiculous unless they have ceased fire already. And they don’t need anyone.
