she was happy but not all else were.i visited Iran in 1971 the poor were very poor and there were biases between religions too like Shia sunni and bhai, so it was not smooth sailing for all. as far as beauty, almost all Iranians are beautiful!

It may be a story of love, but it's easy to be resilient with lots of money stashed away in the world's banks and she doesn't look as if she is wanting in clothes or jewelry at least. There are stories of life in Iran not being as nice as she wants to remember under the Shah - the celebratory affair held was not the only reason for the uprising - and although I do not condone anything that has happened with Iran since the revolution, I am saying that Iran was not such a great place to be under the Shah either.

The fact is, this is generally true to any countries, although 90 % of civilians support a 21st century rules or laws and modern society, the other 10 % of dictatorship mindset are capable to ruin the country. What a wonderful 20 years that Iran had to experience. I hope that generations have a balanced mindset, the life between ideology and peaceful religion teachings, not a radical extremism.
He might have been 20 years older, but he was a smart, attractive man. It's so long ago now. Iran seemed to go backwards into the dark ages, especially with their attitudes towards women.
You can thank the West for killing Iran democracy, and ruined countries like Afghanistan, Lybia... West only wants to destabilize countries to their own benefit and exploitation. They dont care if a country is run by Taliban or ISIS extremists just that it has to be a western puppet like the Sha.
America is probably the culprit in disorganizing peaceful nations & causing civilian wars, havoc & ruin in many many countries! Meddling, capitalist with 0 natural resources always dibbling in other countries they are sooo far removed & distant from. Just like their cousins the colonisers who cook bland food
It looks like she came from a magnificent time of the history! Her presence , her pictures, her attitudes gives life to a living empress! There are no king and empress in our time compare to this two ! Her activities was 100 years ahead of time! Women in Iran had the right to vote years before Swiss and many other European countries! They mage history with being the rulers and even when they left! After them the whole Middle East lost its establishment in peace and progress! !
What a beautiful, loving, and forward thinking woman, I have great respect for her and how she has gracefully suffered in her life. I join her in her wish for the freedom of the women in Iran. I wish her happiness and good health all her life.
Over the years I have met in California many Iranian refugees. Every one was extremely educated, spoke several languages and very cultured. Many educated in France.
That was absolutely not a revolution !!!!!! But a plan that England , Us and European countries had for Iran and the middle east. This is truth behind that so called ( revolution! ) which was not by iranian people . Western Media’s can not hide the truth forever ..
It’s ironic how they got rid of people they believed made their life worse but it was when they were gone that everything went to the trash. The basically left an empty seat for the criminals. This lady doesn't need her country to survive (another thing is if with all her loses is she happy or not) but it seems that having such a progressive empress could have been beneficial for Iran. I mean English monarchy is the richest one and yet England’s stability can't even be compared with Iran. Same for basically every country that still has a monarchy (constitutional monarchy not absolutism like in Arabia Saudi Arabia, those are just a bunch of rich people who like the title of a title and absolute power). All those who got ride of theirs in the last 100 years instead of a fair government have dictators and criminals making the decisions just look at Russia and China.

“americans say?” What? That is the most ignorant thing I’ve ever heard. So all Americans say negative about the peoples of Iran? Clearly YOU have never met many Americans. The American People have nothing but respect for the citizens of Iran. In 1979 when the Shah overthrew the sitting government the Iranian citizens that HAD to flee their home country of Iran for their lives. And where did they go? AMERICA. Oh yes, in 1979 there were more Iranian refugees welcomed in America than ever before. America has a HUGE Iranian people as citizens than any other western country. Know your facts before you speak.

Thank you for the eye-opening and interesting history of the former empress of Iran, Farrah Pahlavi. We were living in Paris, France, in the fall of 1979 when the Iranian revolution broke out. We would walk past a very large, high fence mansion as our three children did everyday to the American School of Paris bus pickup. There were always guards with rifles all around the high fence. In my opinion it was a western plot to remove the Shah as Iran was getting too powerful for their comfort. They brought the Ayotollah who was being sheltered in Europe to ensure that Iran goes back by a minimum of 50 years. Pity the Iranians. They may not be prosperous but they have lots of religion thanks to the west.
Exactly true; Shah was not a US puppet like they’re trying to image. If he was , he would not have supported Egypt against Israel during 1973 war. He has his own political ambitions to take a position of Middle East superpower. This role was crafted only for Israel, US wouldn’t to allow someone else to be more powerful than Israel.
Iran was a beautiful and progressive country! Imagine in the days of Shah, women were allowed to study abroad at the states’ expenses! Now, they are sadly suppressed! What has the revolution brought to Iran? Nothing, but more poverty, idiocy, and death!

Unfortunately , she lost 2 children to suicide, a son and a daughter. My heart goes out to her. No greater loss than this.
It must haunt their relatives.
I wish her well, and her family.
PS: There was a bumper sticker on the lid of the commode of the master bedroom,
“ Up your assatollah.” garment
How fitting.
There was one interesting episode. About a month after a cousin of Reza Pahlavi’s was murdered on a street in Paris.
A woman with a beautiful flowing garment and very expressive perfume came to
my door. One of my beautiful Afghan Hounds was sitting there . ( The name of her breeder’s kennel where she was born was Pahlavi.)
I told the woman that the family had moved.
I have always worried that she may have been sent to my home to see if the Pahlavi family still lived there.
I had been cleaning so my clothing was not fancy, and there was my Afghan Hound in all of her glory.
Beautiful poised wise Farah Pahlavi has gone through so much, may God bless her with peace, good health and happiness
I’ve been lucky to meet Iranians since 1980 when they fled to America. I guess knowing them for 40 years I may be a rare American. I really don’t think I could say anything negative about any that I have met. It was always so sad to hear them say they could never visit Iran or they would face a quick death. I can’t imagine never seeing my parents or family again. Some parents put their kids on planes after the Shah left.

A wonderful portrait of the story of Farrah, the Queen of Iran. Calm and eloquently presented. Thank you. I often wondered what happened to her.
The most amazing Queen of the world based on the work she did for her country..in short 20 yrs.

What a great review about wonderful ladies life. This is what a queen really is. Concerned for the people that she rules over and loving her husband and children.😊
What an amazing woman. Life as a beautiful Queen married to a handsome Shah...a fairy tale.
Giving birth to their handsome children heirs .... happiness beyond. Alas life was perfect.
However the Gods do not allow such happiness. My dear uncle would say the Gods are jealous. Given the many sorrows incredible has survive ....I adore her beauty and her strength. May God bless and share her strength to other women in the world.
she was happy but not all else were.i visited Iran in 1971 the poor were very poor and there were biases between religions too like Shia sunni and bhai, so it was not smooth sailing for all. as far as beauty, almost all Iranians are beautiful!
the oldest son went by "mike" owned a barista long before starbucks came and the young boy loved france, shocked when i found out who his parents were, looked like normal everyday people. the family stayed close. they got out with their lives. that was back long ago, she was beautiful.
She bought amazing pieces to help curate the national museums. Very current and ahead of her time!
Beautiful story of love and resilience
It may be a story of love, but it's easy to be resilient with lots of money stashed away in the world's banks and she doesn't look as if she is wanting in clothes or jewelry at least. There are stories of life in Iran not being as nice as she wants to remember under the Shah - the celebratory affair held was not the only reason for the uprising - and although I do not condone anything that has happened with Iran since the revolution, I am saying that Iran was not such a great place to be under the Shah either.
Thank you dear Farah Pahlavi for all your great love and endurance
What a nonsense. Thanking whom and for what? This was an incubator woman, here it begins and here it ends. And for her sacrifice she was well paid. Parasites, luckily they run away and never came back.
So very sad what happened to this country
Watching how happy that country used to be under their rule is so sad knowing how oppressed it is now. 😕

I’m not a monarchist but they were so much more kind and progressive than the Mullahs.
Very sad about her two children...
Born in 1980 , one of the reasons for wishing to time travel is to visit Iran in the 70s. All gone by today
May we all live to see Iran resume its destiny of enlightened humanity, aesthetic achievement, scientific curiosity, and benevolence by all for all.

I’m 62 and live in Australia. But the love I’ve my life is a real Persian princess. My wife’s grandmother was an illegitimate daughter of the crown Prince of Iran. The Qasars of Isfahan Iran in the late 1800s. Everyone says Australian women are good but nothing matches the beauty, manners, knowledge of her surroundings and universe. They are wonderful people. She is 55 but their soft Ayrian skin makes her look 30. I don’t believe half the stuff Americans say about the Iranian people. They have more grace and etiquette than any type of western woman
Shame about the Iranian govt! As a Persian Princess she would have needed to disappear . Sad.

The emperor in the Book of Esther was Xerxes of Persia, but the book has a different name for the emperor.
Had recognized her, the Shahbanou of Iran, window-shopping at a Bloomingdale’s in the early to mid 80’s. She then lived in Greenwich, CT. Apparently, she now resides in Great Falls, VA.

After we left for the U.S., we found out that is where Koemini lived before the revolution which afterwards returned to Iran.
All leftist revolutions have their origins in the Parisian ‘communes’.
I saw a picture of Tehran under the Shah, it looks like Hollywood in the 60's

I just went to the Mosque-Madrassa of Al-Refaei this week in Cairo . The tomb of the Shah surprised me it was there with Iran flag . President Anwar Sadat of Egypt and the Shah were friends. Since his family was exiled he allowed the Shah in this beautiful 🕌 mosque
Beautiful intelligent lady but too much tragedy in her family.
What a great woman. I hope Iran will be liberated from those old Moolahs and Queen Farah lives to see it. 🇨🇦
Iran was a beautiful and progressive country! Imagine in the days of Shah, women were allowed to study abroad at the states’ expenses! Now, they are sadly suppressed! What has the revolution brought to Iran? Nothing, but more poverty, idiocy, and death!
