s110V has become one of my favorite EDC steels. Sharpening isn’t bad and I’ve had no chipping issues. The edge retention is awesome and it’s super stainless.

Another wicked blade! You're going to have to re-mortage the house! ;-)

Thanks! Next in my sights for a few months time is the Lionsteel TRE, a Zero tolerance 0220 Anso, and the Spyderco Mantra

+KillerDeegan Actually looking pretty hard at the contigo. Looks beastly, and very curious about M4 steel

+KillerDeegan I know. All the good ones are at least 300, from the ebay dealer I watch. Still might pull in a mini grip in a couple paydays time. I have nothing left I'm happy to sell to buy more. Back to the old fashioned way of things I guess!

i always watch your reviews if it's a knife i might be interested in and the cut tests are fantastic! already having the lightweight native 5 in bd1 (i think) i found a g10 native 5 in s110v. i'm hoping i never have to sharpen it and may just send it out when stropping fails. i love me a back lock (and liner lock) by spyderco and other than a tiny bit of lube i just let the stiff wear in naturally. as always, cardboard is torn or cut with utility knife...wish you did chainsaw chain reviews....

Just pulled my Para2 in S110v out of the safe to start carrying it. Sharpest edge I have ever gotten on a new knife. Scary sharp. Will see how it fares in the cardboard wars.

Most spyderco pocket clips don't appeal to me, I like the more deep carry style clips. Spyderco knives also are just too similar to me, a lot of them have the same sort of form. I guess it's just personal taste, I can understand the appeal of them, just not for me. Regardless, looks like a fantastic knife, curious to see how that steel works out, haven't heard of S110V. I'm assuming it's harder that S30V?

not sure what they've dialled the hardness into, but its probably at 60hrc. S30v is usually done to 58, but can also get to 60. I saw that Apostle P fellow mention on his 110 Manix 2 review that its actually easy to shapen compared to the other supers at the moment like elmax, zdp189, or s90v. Sounds like a top tier recipe, a bit like M390 as seen in the Benchmade Valet

and yeah, Spydercos all look a bit samey, but the changes all feel very different in hand. Fugly as hell, usually, tho!

Cyclone Outdoors I'm slowly replacing all mine with MXG low riding ti clips. Very nice and great company to deal with.

So native 5 lightweight s110v or Chaparrel noble in XHP...??????

    • @NoelKunz

Chaparral. Slimmer blade stock, better feel in the hand. Unless you want more of a workhorse type knife, then go with the Native
