      Yes, you would think knowing a position in one scale is enough, but it is better to go through all of the keys to really know the fret board.

      @@TheSpanishGuitarHub Practiced the G Major Scale Modes a couple more times; including F# Lorain & C Lydian Scales. Now how would I know when to use which mode? Do I just follow the music as written or is there a "next level" set of rules to play by? With "Modes" stretching over all the many musical genres, knowing more about how to apply them might unlock a few barriers. Thanks !!

      of course you can use different modes for different sounds. But any of these notes will work with the chords. So the best is to play with them with a backing track (coming this Sunday) and experiment. practice improvisation:)
