Pink Floyd are gods, will be played forever like Beethoven& Mozart, it’s that simple.I had this poster on my bedroom wall as a teenager. I have been a Floydian for over 50 yrs. This album has gone into the hall of fame. Genius ❤
This song song was brilliant back when I was a teen but now that I'm 56 it hits you in a whole different way. Still brilliant but the words are so much more powerful.
G’day from Texas. Love how you were immediately lost in the music. At 71 years old, I have regrets that in some aspects of my life I “missed the starting gun”.
If your going to listen to DSOTM in its entirety you must do it in a dark room through headphones (there is another level to add but I’ll leave that out 😉). It’s an experience you’ll never forget
I believe the softly spoken magic spells refer to the whole of the funeral mass, while the great gig in the sky is what the person dying goes through during the process of passing. All 5 stages. Brilliant stuff.
Yes, agree with everyone. Listen from beginning to end of the entire Album. When you’re alone, lying down, eyes closed, headphones on, nice and loud. Just how how it’s meant to be heard. I bought the Album the day it was released, aged 17 and I’ve been doing it for 50 years ever since. Magical. Happy Golden Anniversary, ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’. 🎶💛🎶
Headphones are a must, unless you have a 5K or better sound system. I first listened to "The Dark Side of the Moon" in quadrophonic released in Germany in 1973 by EMI Electrola
Comfortably Numb's my favourite song of all time, but I agree with you. I think the first CN solo is David's best (the tone and emotion is beyond all else), two of the solos in Dogs, and this one are right up there as well. I'd put In Any Tongue and the instrumental album closer for Rattle That Lock in the conversation too.
You can’t go wrong with Floyd. They’re on another level. Love to see you react to Comfortably numb the Pulse version. Guitar solo voted No 1 in the world. If you want to hear a guitar sing then it’s a must.
sevsimo, I highly recommend ENTIRE ALBUM REACTIONS. Floyd albums are CONCEPT albums. The Wall is a ROCK OPERA. ANIMALS is loosely based off of Orwell's book Animal Farm. You'll find that each track SEGUES from one to another. I'm 60 years old and in my day you'd drop the NEEDLE on the VYNL and listen from start to finish of SIDE A and then flip it over to side B and do it again. LOVE THE CHANNEL. ✌
It’s true, what strikes us so clearly is that every single moment, every choice is 100% perfect, never a misstep, including the most talented production. It’s always true for the best of the best, revisit late Beatles and you’re just blown away by the production’s perfection.
sevsimo, I agree with your TAKE on David Gilmore's guitar playing. David does more with fewer notes then SLASH & EDDIE combined. You can definitely hear Gilmore's INFLUENCE on ADAM JONES (TOOL). Jones was in high school when THE WALL came out. No one puts out an ALBUM like FLOYD and TOOL.✌
He's my all time #2 with only Jimi Hendrix ahead by a smidgen, then the 3 Yardbirds guy after Gilmour. EVH is in my top 10 but I like Pete Townsend, Tony Iommi and Ritchie Blackmore even more. Brian May right after Eddie. They float my boat.
My brother (rip) did a movie in high school to this music . He climbed a hill and showed the sunrise then broke into a factory churning smoke and then ended up in front of a fireplace. Very cool for a HS kiddo

when song finishes you realize that the buch of alarm clocks at the start are your OWN PERSONAL starting gun. Life is now and time is short. Thanks for your reaction, so cool.
How 28 year olds wrote such profound lyrics is beyond me. Most young kids back in the 70s didnt really appreciate the words until later in life. These guys were genius.
Could not agree more with the previous comment… maggot brain has to be one of the most mind bending guitar piece ever produced. Give it a listen if you reacted to Pink Floyd this way
Another classic song, the lyrics are dead on and the music mesmerising. You would appreciate it even more when you finally list to Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety. Their albums Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, Animals and the Wall were all composed as whole albums with amazing stories to tell, you need to hear the whole thing to really get it. From earlier times, try One of These Days from Meddle, one if the best vibe out tunes ever made. Enjoy! pink Floyd forever!!! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶
For me, listening to a Floyd album is similar to being rebooted. "Mind racing in a million directions? Don't know what to do next? Here, listen to this Dark Side Of The Moon disc. You'll feel better in no time. That'll be $150 please". I could do that therapist's thing. No problem!
Awesome song, you really appreciate Pink Floyd. You need to hear the dark side of the moon as a full album. I heard one band member say the pink Floyd is bigger than all of us. Like it's an entity that's expressing itself through these guys.
I'm pretty sure I heard this song before I delved into younger Progressive Rock and Metal, possibly even in the 80s, which I thought was sooo long after its release, yet was only fifteen years. It's been twice that since and I'm still here!
Hi Sevsimo - Thank you for this. The part at the end where you say they slowed down a bit was actually a segue to a reprise of another song on the album. It's very odd at first when you become aware of this, but the album itself is structured as a whole, not as a collection of disparate compositions.
The space the other instruments leave for the drums in the intro, and the amount of space that the drums define in the soundscape is one of the best arrangement and production choices I've ever heard. My other favorite part is when the song feels like its winding down then resurfaces with increased intensity at 5:20 is phenomenal.
I’ve watched all your Pink Floyd reactions and I really enjoy that you’re such a sensory guy. The (what looks like great) coffee, the scented candle, the music, I can tell you try to make it a whole sensory experience.
So the ending verse of the song, where they slow it down, is actually a reprisal of a prior track on the album, Breathe. This is just one reason a lot of people call for the album to be listened to all in one go; it's definitely the *best* way to enjoy it, but understandably a full-album reaction would be a much bigger undertaking. But I do wholeheartedly suggest you listen to the full thing sometime, just for yourself. After you've reacted to the songs individually you plan to. No camera or commentary to worry about, just you, music, and a fresh candle if you need it.
When they finished this album and listened to it , they say back , looked at each other and realized they had created a masterpiece. Hats off to Allen Parsons as well.
This is my favorite PF song just edging out Comfortably Numb, but they're both probably in my top ten or fifteen all-time. They're just one of the greatest bands of all-time. The older I get, the more I love them.
Don’t forget, this was recorded 50 years ago. There was no ProTools, digital editing, etc. Editing was literally done with a razor blade and scotch tape, yet it sounds better than anything current.
I think the most remarkable thing about Pink Floyd is. Yeah Dark Side is probably the greatest album of all time. But the next three after that seem to get better. More clever. More inspiring. More life changing. And then David takes over and he elevates himself into the heavens as a God. With Nick and Richard of course. What happened with Roger is always gunna happen. He's such a firebrand. He achieved what him and Syd set out to do. Ridicule and embarrass Fascists. Five beautiful and amazing souls. It all comes from young lads growing up and looking across the channel to a terrifying Europe.
For those who may not know how the basic tick tock sound was made in this song, not the multiple chimes and alarms but the tick tock, tick tock. When I learned how it was made it was just one more among many examples of why Roger Water's is a genius at his craft of making the listener feel rather than just hear the bass in Pink Floyd songs. The tick tock, tick tock is simply Roger Water's muffling his strings with one hand and picking two strings back and forth mimicking the seconds ticking on a clock! I love these reactions!
You are in the Pink Floyd’s sauce now, keep going please « Pigs (three different ones) », « Sheep », the entire « Dark side of the moon », « Atom Heart Mother », « Sorrow », « High Hopes » Come on man, you won’t regret

I will never forget seeing Dark Side live in the old Boston Garden in 1975, they had a 5 channel PA with channels up in the left, right and center rear balconies so the sound was truly coming from 5 directions and was overwhelming at times. No one ever had better sound systems (or light shows/special effects) than Pink Floyd.

I feel like I am floating when I listen to any Pink Floyd song. David Gilmur is my all-time favorite guitarist, no lyrics needed to drive the message. Great pic, one of my favorites.
Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands. They are responsible for so many masterpieces. I see you also appreciate the masterpiece. So I have to suggest another from a different artist that you may not get recommended by most. The artist's name is Sully Erna, the song is called 7 years. Sully is the leas singer in the band Godsmack also. I know you will love this song and regret not having it in your life sooner. I'd love to see the reaction!! I love your videos!!
It's sacrilege to pause a Pink Floyd song. You must let yourself be carried away by the music, you will enter a tunnel that will take you directly to your inner being 🧠
Do yourself (and us) a favor and play the entire Dark Side of the Moon album in two reactions, side 1 and 2. Lots of other reactors have done it that way and it's a great way to experience the music.
Another great Gilmore solo? Unless it doesn't feature a guitar he brings it every time.😁 Somehow I have a feeling more people in the world know every single word and note in every part of this album than any other ever. Or at least until we all started getting Beyond old.🙄lol ✌️ 🤠🏞️🐂

Hold on - I'll have to make myself a cup of coffee. BRB.
They even did a cover of time.
@@doscwolny2221 I had no idea! I'll definitely be looking into that. Thank you for the tip!
Awesome thanks for the recommendation my friend and thanks for watching my videos much appreciated! 🙏
great reaction just enjoying the vibe 👽
In the top ten songs of all time
As usual, they make you wait... cos they can.
Finally got around to Time, eh? But the 'dead pixel' in your video had me clean mine, lol
Unless it doesn't feature a guitar he brings it every time.😁
Somehow I have a feeling more people in the world know every single word and note in every part of this album than any other ever.
Or at least until we all started getting Beyond old.🙄lol
✌️
