- Cruising up Provo Canyon on an electric scooter is one of my favorite things to do and it's even more fun as a group! We had a good variety of scooters on this ride: Apollo Ghost, Kaabo Mantis Pro, and Varla Eagle One.

I was watching this video all through my lunch break. I couldn't take my eyes off it. My question is it looks like the person with the camera was riding the varla. Is it bothersome for you to only be able to use one finger on the accelerator?
Good vid mate.
I slowed the vid down to .5 speed on the big TV in front of my running machine and ran up the canyon with you.
My 1 hour scenic jog for the day, thanks. 😎😁
What a scene! "Oh I'll just stop here and block the whole path" is the universal language.
Gotta get a picture of that waterfall
I can’t wait for my scooter .. I’m so jealous
Same here! The pre-order anticipation
Same.. just about another 1-2 weeks 🤗
@@bigkick86 order tubes, tires and break pads asap as well or you end up like me stuck waiting on new tires that won’t show up for a month because everything is basically sold out. You never know what might happen, hit something small enough I didn’t see it but big enough to slice my rear tire and puncture the tube. Tube is easy enough to replace but the tires are turning out to be a problem.. I don’t know what is worse, waiting for it to first arrive or having it and not being able to ride it 🥺..
@@strive4208 did you order off amazon? Im seeing off road tires (looks the same as varla website) for $33 vs $99.
Also, how ling did it take to wear down your pads?
@@bigkick86 my scooter is the Vsett 10+ and I use 10x3 street tires because I don’t off-road it. It’s a C suspension front end and I personally don’t feel those are safe for rugged terrain, if off-roading I would want a duel stream with forks but just my opinion. My Vsett is strictly street and those tires are proving to be difficult to get but thanks for the input because I could actually get a set of off-road to hold me over till i can get my normal ones 👍. The off-road are noisy as hell on the road so don’t want them but it would get me moving again.
As for brakes it kinda depends but I would say around 500 miles on average without using regenerative brakes , about 700 if using moderate regen and probably close to a 1000 on high regen. I personally don’t like the regen and stick with just my pads. Doesn’t seem like a good idea to reverse the hubs like that but I also don’t like downshifting my cars transmission to save my brakes as well, I would rather put the wear on the pads but that’s just my opinion. But I still would recommend getting ahead of the game so you aren’t stuck waiting on Amazon.. It was a gorgeous day on the 4th and i was beyond bummed I couldn’t take my scooter out during the fireworks 🥺.. just saying and stay safe ✌️💕
What a sick place to ride 🤘🏽
Infrastructure is going to have to expand quite a bit to accommodate all of the legacy and upcoming pev's. Ive been all over and each month we seem to have more and more enthusiasts on the road commuting to work or for leisure. It's about time we get to enjoy electric vehicles without the need to register or fill them up with fuel.
I wish I had long scenic trails like this near me so I could do some scenic rides on them. We do have a bike path that goes along the entirety of the coast but that's usually packed with cyclists and pedestrians so it's not exactly a great place for high speed cruising.
Looks fantastic .Waiting for my Apollo Phantom.
what an awesome day out and a lovely ride. thanks for sharing :)
That's it... moving to Utah
Do it! Come ride with us!
Wish the higher end scooters came with a nicer digital gauge, this looks kind of cheap from the handle bar view. 🤷♂️
Just received my eagle one/zero 10X scooter yesterday and WOW the power this thing has is crazy I am used to my ninebot max scooter and the eagle one is a whole different animal when you have it on max speed you better hang on because it wants to go now. Its like a tesla P100D on Ludacris setting and the hydraulic brakes are amazing stops on a dime. The suspension and ride is just awesome !!!
Yeah, this is a good place to leave my baby (in the middle of the trail) while I walk over here to look at stuff.
For real, what an awesome ride.
Wow. What an amazing place to live!
I need to wear a helmet to watch this Varla video. Speed up!😎
lol you guys ballsy no padding, im to uneasy without it even at 30kmh, I dont heal as quickly as I use to, getting close to 50! Just clocked my first 130KM on my GHOST 22 loving every minute almost like crack now!
DASHING and UBER eats makes it interesting a few hours a day!
Thank you for sharing!
Love the videos! Makes me anticipate mine even more. Should ship in 2-3 weeks, hopefully.
Thanks! Exciting stuff!
Awesome rides thanks for sharing 💪
Very nice trail!
Hello love your vids keep up the good work 😁
Le paysage est magnifique ! Ou est vous situé ? Bonjour De france ;-)
Ghost or mantis ?
Wow, so beautiful. And crowded. When was this? Summer weekend?
RK9 Rides : Thank you, very nice. in French...
Awesome video own a gotrax g4 and would love to do a group ride.
Was this using your off-road setup with tires and all, or did you put road tires on for this video? It seems the broadened handlebar is there.
There didn't seem to be much tire noise, which might be the case with off road tires on asphalt.
(There is also a chance this was made before the off-road adventures, i know)
Yet another awesome video. What cam are you using? and is there a way to dampen the wind on your cam, or any cam for that matter? I'm shopping for one on Amazon. Any recommendations?
I'm using a GoPro Hero 8 Black in this video. The camera has a "wind" setting but it doesn't help a lot. I've seen people tape a bit of fluff over the mic to help dampen the wind noise.
Can you check how big your Varla battery is? My friend had the Varla and I would ride my Base Mantis to his house and back 4 miles each way and would still have way more battery. I think they sent you the 23ah variant that they don't sell.
This was BEAUTIFUL footage! Where is this
Provo canyon
what do you like better, the thumb throttle or the trigger throttle?
Great videos, wish the quality was a little better.
nice video, This is an amazing place where is it?
Love your videos!
What mode do you generally ride in?
Downhill verses trail?
Appreciate the input👍
I drive to ur moms house in turbo mode
@@Larry-xf3qt Your G4 doesn't have turbo mode
You should talk to Varla about your discount code... your code discount is $60 while the code they list on their homepage is good for a $100 discount (for 1 scooter). And unfortunately you can't use both codes for a $160 discount, you can only use one code. Hopefully you'll still get credit as I used your provided link, and initially typed iin your discount code. 👍👍👍
Nice ride!! Thanks for taking me along. Is it true bikers hate scooters? Why?
I bike & scoot.
All my bike friends consider scooter riders “lazy” & aren’t doing anything but getting in the way.
I use bikes to exorcise
I use scooters to cruise & enjoy the weather and ride/views.
Both are great, it’s people that are stupid.
Yeah I think LuckLessLee nailed it. It's a little ironic when big groups of road bikers take up a whole car lane to ride side by side and then complain about scooters getting in their way. But hopefully both scooter riders and bikers and ride together in peace and harmony 😇
@@lucklessleenyc i prefer enjoying scenic routes with an ebike. Center of gravity is mor stable. Don't get me wrong i love me some good escoot but def seems a bit more dangerous standing and speeding that fast
What kinda handlebar and grips are you using on that varla eagle?
What's your average crusiing speed on the trail?
I currently have a Widewheel Pro and while I do like it I fine the ride a bit harsh and not quite the distance as I’d like to see. Really considering the Ghost or maybe the Phantom. What are your thoughts? 210lb rider would like to ride 20mph for the most part with some quicker areas. Need to be able to at least get 20mile range. Thanks in advance.
Also looking at the Mantis 10
I personally went with the ghost. I didn’t see much of a difference in useful specs between the ghost and phantom so I went with the Ghost since it was cheaper.
I weigh 195 and get 25 miles maxing out the throttle. If you are going to be going 20 most of the time you’ll easily do about 30 miles. The ghost is fun and affordable. My main complaints are the owner manual being in somewhat broken English and there isn’t a stock headlight. The deck lights are pretty cool though.
I don't own the Ghost but from the few times I have tried it it seems like a great scooter. Probably the other comments here will give you an idea of which to go with!
I like my kaabo mantis pro, but I wish I would have waited a little bit and got the Varla Eagle One instead.
@@tietengekofgods is it the same thing just different brand?
Wish I had such paths to ride here in London. I guess I’ll have to make do with broken up roads and potholes the side of elephants feet 😆
That's just as fun, right? 😅
Did u ever get the foam insert I have been waiting for a review
Considering the Ghost. How does it compare to the Eagle One?
My ghost will be here in a few weeks. I chose is solely on braking and 2 year warranty......
@@codykirkland9002 I ended up with the Vsett 10+. It's a beast
VSett10 looked like a freaking monster. I think the weight is what kept me away from that one. I drive mine to work and need to carry it up stairs. Ugghhhhh.
@@codykirkland9002 It's very heavy and cumbersome but I can drive mine into the basement.
The ghost isn't much lighter at 62ish lbs..... but hey, more power, shocks and battery come with the weight. Give and take. Ha
Mr RK9 is there any ranch property around you?
Not that I know of but probably. Why do you ask?
@@RK9Rides ...property taxes are going to explode in Cali.
@@tychonova9390 yea they are 😬
Love your videos, but man, everytime I see one I cringe thinking that I wish you would wear some motocross gloves. Your hands are the first thing hitting the ground if you crash. I wear mine.
What scooter is all around best put of these?
I personally bought the Apollo Ghost, mostly because of the brand and price. All the 3 scooters are so similar, that you won't feel a big difference anyway, since they all fill the same segment. The Ghost is a bit easier to transport though.
@@Tiberius_2k how is the scooter treating you? I just bought one and I’m questioning whether or not I should have gotten the varla
@@lucasyork9196 super happy with it. The varla feels less stable in the frame and has some plastic parts that make noise when ridning. Which would annoy me too much.
But the are very close to eachother in the drivning spirit.
@@Tiberius_2k I ended up getting the Apollo ghost with hydraulic brakes for 1700, now I see that the mantis pro se is on sale for 1700. Lol. I’m sticking with the ghost, seems like a reputable company and looks solid. Hope to do light off reading with it. I also noticed that the ghost had better acceleration than the varla and got up to 38mph instead of the advertised 34mph through reviews. it’s funny considering the ghost has two 800watt wheels and the varla has 100pwatt wheels but it is faster in acceleration.
wow nice me seoul ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
