- How many times can I play this piece? Well, a lot, apparently.
I honestly debated if I should play Time this year - it feels like the way I'm playing it doesn't change that much, but last year's version didn't quite leave me satisfied, being much more restrained, and my personal favorite was the one I recorded in 2020. So, here I tried to make this more of a spiritual successor to that one, just with the new piano! I think I still wasn't quite used to the Steinway last year, I definitely feel much more comfortable playing it now!
I'm surprised at how nice and smooth recording was for this one - I really just set everything up, sat down, went wild for one single take and that was that.
I think this might be the last time I play Time, at least for a while! Unless inspiration strikes and I suddenly feel like playing it in a completely new way...

I don't know how long I've followed your RUclips channel now - I think I was searching for covers from 5 Centimeters per Second many years ago - but there's something very reassuring about seeing you come back to this piece again and again. Another year, more Time; it's comforting in a world that seems too quick and harsh for me to keep up with.

Wow you played this song so well!! I can't believe you only did this with one take. I really like how you did your crescendos and decrescendos all throughout the song... I felt so moved by this and I can really feel all the emotion you put behind it. Great job :)

And I will be honest. If I close my eyes. I have no idea which year version I am listening to, they both sound so much similar. I need to listen to this one more time, maybe then only I can see what changed from the 2020 version.
Btw try checking "time is a place" "once upon a memory" and "born a stranger" You may like all of these. I wanted to tell you about these since 2018. And now I am sharing it here.

Now for this piece, well I just have to listen again and again to see any difference as this one literally sounds like the 2020 version. I can sense a calmer tone or maybe it's just new piano. And I will also check all the other versions again...

I like this piece a lot, it's somber yet it also conveys a sense of hope throughout, not unlike time, and people finding meaning to life through (or in spite of) it.
HORSE! (it's something of an inside joke between me and a friend - gave us both a good laugh when I showed him someone picked up on it, so thanks for that LOL!)

Clearly a favourite piece. I love how you play but I did like the version last year. I for one would love to hear you do a really stripped back version, akin to the original with a slower build up to the crescendo. I also loved how you incorporated the guitar line. Well done though, you certainly can play that thang and I keep coming back to you. Thankyou.

The progressive version of time and so much added in between the melodic lines sounds very melancholy like your hands are the people interacting and experimenting with time your arrangement truly changes the meaning of this piece for the better great job Caliko will you have sheets soon dying to play this version

I really loved what you did with this one, adding pieces to bring your personal experience to the song gives it a certain uniqueness to this interpretation that is just perfect. This is certainly my favorite alongside the 2019 one, though that was the first time I heard from you, so i may be slightly .
The progression starting from 4:58 to onwards is one of the most satisfactory piano performances I have had the pleasure of listening to, and the finishing touches proudly carry with them the sense of melancholy that so representates this song.
