    Another thing is that dodge devalues I think it’s 30%-40% in 4 years as a brand it’s earned it’s #9 spot on the reliability test My guess is that charger/challenger types were built more reliable than the rest of dodge because they were built with performance in mind so more detail was put in it creation

      You maybe right, but watch these hellcat prices skyrocket in 5 years when they stop making them next year. Try looking for a 2017 dodge viper, those prices are insane.

    I'm thinking of selling my KIA Stinger 2022 in a year. In europe, here in Hungary, its going to be rare. Unfortunately I'm super sad to see it go, but its financially a better idea to sell due to the
    price going up super. Do you think I can expect the same reliability of this car?

    Puts 20,000 miles on a vehicle and cause it reliable LOL talk to me when it has 150,000 that you put on it I put over 150,000 on my vehicles every couple years come talk to me when it's actually proven to be reliable

      I just explained what reliability means. It does not mean that you have to put 100k miles to prove that's its reliable. It's how many times a year a car needs repair. It could have 20 miles on it but it has been repaired for failure of whatever then it becomes unreliable.

    Is that #9 out of 10 seems misleading because there are 30 different automakers out there. Which source did you get that from? JD power or Consumer Reports?
    BTW, not to be the devil's advocate but 1 year and 20 000 miles is not a true measure of long term reliability. The true measure of reliability is when the vehicle hits 10 years old and older and has at least 150 000 miles or more, otherwise, your case is a weak one. Comeback in at least 3 years and at least 60 000 miles to let us know how the vehicle is holding up then.
    Now, I will admit that I am a Mopar fanboy but it will not convince anybody that proves that Dodge is reliable after only 1 year.
    Mind you, as a family, we have owned 10 Chryslers and all of them were solid mechanically and were still running like a top when we sold it. All the Chryslers except for one had over 100 000 miles and lasted us longer than any other manufacturer we have had.
    From what I have heard, the Dodge Charger, Challenger, Grand Caravan, Durango and Chrysler 300 are decently reliable. From what I know, most of the Jeeps seem to be problematic and Mopar's Fiat based vehicles such as the Dart and Fiat 500, are also problematic.
    However, from my experience, the number one killer with Chrysler's reliability is the owner who does not maintain their Mopars properly. Those are the ones that are truly problematic but it is not the car's fault, it is really the owner's fault. Imo, the biggest issue contributing to a vehicle's reliability, is maintenance, not the vehicle itself!
    When people say that Toyotas are very reliable, I will agree with that but there is one caveat and that is, Toyota owners maintain their vehicle very well and so when people complain that their vehicles are crap, the big factor contributing to their crappy vehicle, by far and large is maintenance and the way people drive it.
    How do I know this? Because I have worked extensively for Toyota, Chrysler, GM, Ford, Mazda, Canadian Tire and NAPA. I worked in the capacity of a Service Advisor and a Parts Advisor. The biggest issue I find with North American vehicles is very poor maintenance and in sharp contrast, the Japanese cars are very well maintained and people will spend money even the cheapest Japanese cars for proper maintenance of their cars.
    So basically, take care of your domestics and in 90% of the times, you will get a great vehicle

    • @BoysToysHellcat
      @BoysToysHellcat  Год назад +1

      I never said long term reliability. You are mixing up the meaning of "reliability" versus "longevity".
      Reliability in cars means how less often it will require repair or fail that will inconvenience the owner. So you don't need a long time to determine a cars reliability.
