Lets be real, rockstar isn't adding it to stop modders. They're clearly adding it to test it for GTA 6 online. They stopped caring about GTA 5 online a long time ago
Or GTA6 is seriously delayed…
Do you mean 5 online and 6 online will be merged and Liberty City will be updated in the future?
@@RLOWG no, rockstar is probably testing stuff they'll add to GTA 6 online in GTA 5 online. They're most likely gonna be separate
no they added it to test their cash flow on shark cards, noone in rockstar cars about the griefers, only about money
I prefer the cheaters than a program that demands authorization to read my files
That's the reason i haven’t updated it. Scary af.
Yep! Will not give up my privacy to play this game. Creepy and unnecessary.
Same. I always play in private sessions anyway 😅
@Specterrrr
Sounds like ur 12 and the worst someone could have access to on your PC is your GTA 5 modmenu
Would be nice if they only made it a requirement for public lobbies but not for solo sessions
that kinda defeats the purpose, players could still cheat themselves money, weapons, etc. to keep and then use in a public lobby
@@carambagel true, but it can be easily monitored so that if that if the person did use cheats in a solo session they cannot enter a public lobby ever
@@theblackswan109 what you're saying makes no sense, how can it monitor anything if it wasn't a requirement?
@@suamaenovr8554 battleeye uses a rootkit that can access everything on your PC, it literally just has to check if the person used a mod menu recently. and even if its not a requirement the BE is automatically installed when you dl GTA so its there already
Modders ruin the lobby, i hope this would bring the friendly players back to public sessions
I saw they already working on bypass
@@maritoguionyo you don't say
@@asiamies9153 xd
@@maritoguionyo of cause. Battleeye is definitely a great anticheat and only bypassable by Kernal level cheats (high risk of system breaks / crashes) or via DMA cheating, which is complicated and expensive (most cheaters won't be able to do it).
nope. Instead the griefers are out in force again just killing me again and again.
instead of writing a normal anti-cheat on the release of the game, 9 years later they add the worst anti-cheat in history
@@MARK25802 Battleeye is definitely better than Vanguard, at least when it comes to running in your kernal. Also, it's definitely better than the EA Anticheat, since they are Kernal level and don't even have an bug bounty program, so any vulnerabilities found will most likely be unreported and potentially sold to third parties.
If I accept this antivirus program, there will be no changes on the computer, right?
@@tombstone2003Can't say for certain. Whilst it shouldn't cause any problems normally, it could make it easier for attackers to gain kernal level access on your PC in case of a security vulnerability. Also, kernel level anticheats can cause crashes or blue screen of death, see the Crowdstrike global outage or the genshin impact anticheat randsomwere exploit. If you install it, try and monitor your system for instability / crashes. If they occur, I highly recommend uninstalling Battleeye. But it's your decision afterall.

Glad I watched this video and found out beforehand, that it's not necessary to install Battle eye for Story mode
Yeah, I understand I'm probably being too paranoid, but I don't want this shit on my computer. If Rockstar decides they want to do a hardware ban, what's to stop others from doing the same thing? I've already seen what modders are capable of as they can screw with my GTA account whenever they feel like. I trust Rockstar about as much as I trust a used car dealer. Probably less.
What is scarier is how they can access ALL of your files

Finally, at least they are trying to do something about it now.

To be real, I don't think the main reason why rockstar added battleeye was to stop modders from ruining the game for other players. It definitely has more to do with the fact that mod menus allow players to get unlimited money without grinding for it, pretty much reducing the sales of shard cards and the value of in-game money. Since in-app purchases count for a substantial amount of revenue for Take2 Interactive (Rockstar's parent company), such a modding crackdown can increase profits and maximize shareholder investment. Hopefully, GTA 6 will have a fair balance between grinding and buying shark cards, but I'm uncertain about that, since more grinding most of the time equals more shark-card sales which equal higher revenue.
but why now? couldn't they had done it sooner? more time more profit? it has to with gta 6 security testing
@@thymos6575Rockstar does not need to only have a single reason. The method I described to increase sales will be most effective when launched from the start with GTA 6. So yeah, this is a try run. But the fact remains that Rockstar has a financial insentive to make shark cards the only way of gaining money outside of grinding.
Give it a few days. Battle eye is garbage they have beat it already on other games.

This isn’t about the server nuke guys, it’s the ones who want to avoid shark cards!
I have gta on steam but I also have rockstar launcher, I enable the battleye but I still can't play online, why and how I can fix this?
This isn't working on my steamdeck. Does it work on a steamdeck
Not until rockstar fix it from what I’ve heard
I am scared of getting falsely banned after hearing about the recent banwave. I mean can't modders run commands/cheats on the behalf of your computer?
My battle eye was off and i thought my pc broke when i tried online when launching 😂
Thanks for this, I didn't know you could turn it off from the R* launcher settings. Now just have to wait for the ScriptHook update to enjoy single player modding . Seems R* pushes out an update 10 times an hour smh.
Idk why with gta 5 epic games with battleye as request code rockstar activation but I'm delete it battleye and run gta 5 no request activation code and can play
But will it stop people from modding - I mean NO! The menus will be adjusted soon and will then work again.
Yeah let’s see how long it lasts. It’s like going back in time at the mo 😂

battleye has already been defeated in the past, it's a cat and mouse game but anything that is installed on a windows pc can be defeated generally by another shim process itself, depends on how well they have woven that into the game and networking stack though. but I would imagine for online play it will help initially and overall reduce the sheer number of modders (cheaters) with menus
I tried to install it but it says error... what should i do?
im a modder and i couldn't be happier about it i was so annoyed to use mod to stop getting crashed by a russian dude. gg's i can play like i did in the past :D

On September 17, 2024, BattlEye was introduced to GTA5. This means that all mods cannot even be started. There may be a solution, but it is unknown at this time.

I’m just gonna wait till someone uploads the PC version online. So I can play that instead.

I accidentaly deleted BattlEye how do I install it back?
I think you have to reinstall the Launcher
Will this affect the FiveM family?
I´ve awlays played 100% vanilla. Can't even launch the game regardless if is disabled or not. If turned on, battleye says it has failed to launch. If off, the game just shows an error and closes up imidiatly.
Yes, already checked integraty of the files and even reinstalled it. I guess I'm forever blocked from playing gta 5's story mode and online

@@GlimpseofLight24 Battleeye just looks at hooked up processes to the purchased (and anticheat added) game. Battleeye does not scan your file system, so you shouldn't get any problems having a second pirated copy on your PC. Also, Battleeye is just an Anti-Cheat, not an Anti-Piracy or DRM software.
@@Pils10 But Battleye is kernel root kit. Which basically a S p y w a r e.
Everyone is talking about it,that it gets control over the whole PC.
With lot of security risks, vulnerabilities etc..
@@GlimpseofLight24 Wrong. Kernel level programs have access to your entire PC, but that does not conclude they are spyware. Just because I have a car that can go 200mph or 300kmh does not mean I (or the cars owner) has to drive at that speed. Same goes for Kernal level anticheats. They have access to your complete PC, but since they are most often from reputable companies (like EasyAnticheat or Battleeye), they are most likely only using it as intended. As for smaller and lesser known anticheats (such as EA Anticheat or Vanguard, I find it a harder to trust these companies with kernal level access. As for vulnerabilities, yes. If a program can exploit a kernal level driver, they have full access and can use it to steal / exfiltrate data, bypassing anti virus software and encrypt your entire file system to demand a randsome.
