Couple questions when you do the skimmer video. 1st is how is the noise & features vs the great white 7+ you tested? 2nd is the only Aussie price I've seen is around the $770 mark which is a huge Aussie mark up compared to other prices its rumoured to come out at in Europe (€330 = AUD$540) and the US (US$350 = AUD$500). Do you have an update on rumoured prices & what are your thoughts on the skimmer price when the other items (light/grye) in this range look like they'll be priced really well vs the rest of the market in Australia. :D cheers and look forward to the skimmer video and the new build!
Yeah I didn't get around to it, had some trouble with it at the start but it has been running well for a while now so I should do the review. I'll try to get one out before christmas
@@ParkersReef hmm not the first person i heard from saying that. have they fixd the setting up issue? Also any disco ball effect? Does it come with mounting kit?
@@arthurman9021 yeah it comes with mount and its pretty decent. My issues were with the app and the wifi setup, but once you get past that it seems to be a decent light
Looking forward to your review on all of these products Sam. I was going to use all second hand gear on the new frag tank but you may be able to twist my arm. I'm not sure about the light though, the spare Radion xr30 I have will likely work better over the 2x3 foot frag tank.
Yeah if you have a spare radion, I’d use that as it’s the same as your main tank lighting. Let’s see how the gear goes, for the quality of maxspect the pricing is good!
Hi mate. Regarding the light, can you advise if it can be used on a tank with an enclosed canopy? There is only 6 inches between the top of the canopy and the lids in my tank. Is this enough room or would the light be considered too to get full use of it? Loving the vids!!!
6 inches is fairly close and you’d want to ensure the canopy has ventilation. But otherwise, it should work. What spread are you wanting when 6 inches from surface? I’ll look at the spread for you :)
Thanks mate. I’m looking at two lights to cover a 5x2x2 that I have on order. Will be freshwater African cichlids but looking at using the 8K pump so figured I keep it all with the same brand. Unless you can suggest another light?? ( looked at AI primes and think there’s not enough space).
I like your videos. I'm working on starting my own reef up and was wondering how is the Maxspect Jump Led light? Have seen alot of unboxings but not very many reviews.
The Jump LED was my least favourite product from this range. Whilst it has no shortage of power, the included mount is great and the colour it puts out is quite nice - the software and connectivity is not good. Thankfully you don’t need to connect to it or program it often - so if you can manage past that section, you should be happy. It’s also fairly expensive compared to others, which is unlike the rest of the jump range which is very competitively priced
Hiya mate,I’m just wondering if you ever did your full review on the leds? I’m currently in the serious thinking/planning on a reef tank (because of you!🤬😂) and the rest of this equipment is looking pretty good for all I need! Just wondering if two of the lights would be good enough for a 100cm x 60cm deep tank?
Definitely looking forward to your thoughts on the gyre and skimmer. My pair of gyre 230s are too small for my 6 foot and I was thinking of going to a pair of 350s. Likewise, I thought I had settled on my skimmer also but the smarts in the controller on this looks quite appealing. My current skimmer has overflow protection but the start delay is very cool.
The skimmer certainly has my interest, i can't believe it is in their Jump range it looks and feels so high quality! The return pump is a beast, but I think it might be too big for most tanks? I do like a slow speed on my return pump though :) Gyre looks to be a winner, cant see where it is any less than their high end unit and the light I am not sure on just yet. Will see how it goes
Question for the light. Is the bracket included suitable for tanks with rim/does it have adjustable grip? Also these do look really good, love the design of them and that pump looks really good.
Great questions! It looks to suit rimless tanks, but could possibly be adjusted to mount to the rim instead, I will check. The pump is a beast, only downside I can see so far is that it moves SO MUCH water!
Maxspect are really pushing these now by the looks. This is the third vid I’ve seen unboxing the same products in the last day. Interested to hear your thoughts after they’ve been used for a bit as the mid range price and design on them is very appealing.
Hi Parker, Are you in Sydney? I dont mind being a Guinea pig for a modest tank setup using all these products when they become available and of course after your positive review. Please get in touch
Looking forward to seeing the review on the gyre. I have the Icecap 2k being delivered this week, which I believe is basically a rebranding of the jump line. Hoping it's not overkill on a Cube 20. Lol
@@ParkersReef Havent seen a good video yet showing how to clean them, only that a gyre is a little more work than traditional powerheads. Also, would like your take on which flow pattern is best for a mixed reef. Thanks!
Everytime you put one of these videos out it costs me a fortune mate! 😂 this could get expensive! Could you let us know in each vid if you have to go through an app or you can plug and play. It looks like you can when they have controllers 👍
Hahaha my bad!!! I was hoping it would save you money by showing gear that may or may not suit your tank :) I reckon they’ll be all controllable via the physical controller - but will let you know :)
So that Gyre pump seems to be at an interesting price range, seems like it is a good value compared to the 300 series if you buy one, if you buy 2 however the value does diminish as 2 of them is about the same as 2 of the 300 series as you can plug 2 into one controller and save considerably on the 2nd pump. And the LED seems nice, but 65 watts is all the channels at 100% and most probably aren't going to have red/green very high, and whites probably not as high as blues either so it does seem like it'll be in the same category as something like a Kessil A160 which definitely is a nano light, I really wish there were more (any!!!) reviews on the original Ethereal LED, it looked like an interesting buy but seemed to lose traction to the big players out there.
Man im.loving these products reviews. Very honest and clear. I will be using a lot of the utems u reciew in my future built
I appreciate the feedback. Doing my best to be as honest and impartial as I can!
Super super keen to see how that skimmer runs! Great vid man
The skimmer is probably the pick of the bunch in my eyes, doesn’t feel budget at all, super nice
@@ParkersReef Agreed!
looking forward to see the led light and what it can do
What specifically would you like covered? I’ll do my best to make it happen!
@@ParkersReef coverage over the tank, how many over different size tanks etc
Super excited to get the skimmer and run it when it is available here in the US. Looks like an amazing skimmer at the price
Fingers crossed!

Got the wave pump bloody good
yeah nice - I'm keen to see how it goes!
good video looking forward to the update after a while has passed on all these!

Hi George, I’m located in Victoria mate :)
Parkers Reef oh no!!! Thought it would be great content for your channel.
Wow this light has 390nm LEDs - that is great - and the included mount ticks the box for me
yeah there are some interesting aspects to this LED!
Interested in the review vid for the gyre. In the market for one atm. The redsea ones are unfortunately abit out of my budget.
The Red Sea units look great, but yeah they are pricey! Hopefully this will fit the bill mate 👍🏻

With the skimmer can you close off one intake and have that same pump recycling the water?

Yeah agreed. If you want two, go the twin 300 pack for sure.
The led I haven’t made my mind up on yet, will see how it performs :)
How do you get to promote all this products. I wanna also some :O
Lots of hard work!! Videos take a lot of effort and reaching an audience is also tricky, but you can do it!!!
Is everyone getting getting a set of these to make RUclips videos.
Hey Maxspect send me a box full of jump products. 📦
Hey Luis, yeah Maxspect reached out to a number of youtubers across the world. Get your channel up and running and you could be next :)
These guys don't stand for their product, after market service in AU is bad, i had to buy faulty controller on my own!
Sorry to hear mate :(
made in china....price like made in usa
I'd say their price is closer to the china range....
