I am reminded of a quote by the great Renaissance artist Michelangelo. He basically said that the statues he sculpted were already there, in the stone. He needed only to remove the unneeded bits. Perhaps this song was always I your heart, and Metallica needed only to put it into sound to remind you of it. I'm not saying Metallica our Renaissance artists, but maybe pretty close when it comes to metal. Cheers friend , I've enjoyed all your reactions to this album immensely.

The way I feel listening to this song is how I feel when listening to Orion or Nothing Else Matters. They all have a swell to them that's totally overwhelming for me.
If you take the haunting feel of Orion with the swell of Nothing Else Matters, I think that's what makes this song so impactful for me.

The funny thing about this song is that the ending is SO epic, you almost forget the first part. James' voice is so strong there. "... both shall we bleeeeeeeed-OH!"! This and Spit Out The Bone are the two best on the album for sure. You can't compare them though, they are so different. That is why we love Metallica

So good to see genuine reactions. I've thought so much about why I like this song so much, even though it might not be a top 10-15 Metallica song. The one thing that always stood out was the ending, but that could just be a song leaving you on a high, maybe masking everything else that's wrong about it. But then you realise that the rest of the song is just a brilliant build-up to the ending.

Hey brother, great reaction of a great song, I feel totally the same listening to it, I feel like someone took a part of my best memories and showed it to me so I could grab it. Not very "metalish"... but it is so emotional I could not describe it in a different way. And you hit the bull's-eye with this Amorphis connotations. Stay heavy, brother!

I’ve watched your reactions from most of the album a few times now, and it captures the way I felt when I first heard them too. I got emotional during the “Hello darkness say good bye” because I was saying good bye to a person who met a lot to me when that song came out. I still think of the path we took and I don’t regret the path, but listening to this still makes me feel alive and like I made the right choice. Anyways thank you for all your reaction videos. I look forward to seeing your reaction on the next album in late 2019 or early 2020.

Man, I feel exactly what you feel with this song. I didn't quite feel it the first time, because I listened to the whole thing first with a group of friends. I think it's harder to get that feeling when you're in a group. We were all drinking beers and I think wanting something faster. But I loved when that riff kicked in at the end. Every time I have listened to it since then it gets me right in the feels. I never listened to Amorphis. But this does remind me of something I heard before. I kept trying to think of a song...maybe classic rock from 70s...but I can't think of anything specific. Maybe you're right.. maybe the tapped into something inside us. It's fucking wild. This song is a cure for depression.
