What an amazing experience it must to be there in the water with those massive waves, all that energy, and then that stunning scenery in the background. I would love to see that before I die. Fewer people would be nice.
The thing i find absolutely amazing is when you see the surfer go into the foam and you think... wow he must've fallen then you see them break back out of it... its so amazing to watch that :D
thank. god for giving us those awesome 🌊 waves, respect to all surfers 🏄♂️ specially big wave riders , love 💕 what you do , and do what you love , hang loose 🤙 bro’s.
Laird thrives on the complex side of standup paddle surf at Teahoopu. He glides and the others just look in amazement. Happiness is seeing Waterman in action.Incidentally, no one mentions the streams of sharks in these waters.Once on a Club Med trip, the GO demonstrated shark lasooing and nobody in my boat wanted to get in the water LOL.He just said to make friends with the nurse sharks.
=O shit dude ive seen his tow in wave here but that was just crazy i dont think i could surf for a thousand years and ever be able to paddle into a wave like that. That is outstanding.
@byronmatthews Actually it is said he got trapped by his leach underwater. 2 guys dropped after him and guy 1 (don't recall names) said he felt guy 2 trying to reach to the surface when he was doing it too, when actually guy 2 was already at the surface, so that guy guy 1 felt was probably Mark Foo.
Exactly! Anyone who surfs Chopes has to respect each other for having the balls to ride waves that massive. There should be a bond amongst watermen/waterwomen and not have all of this animosity.
The most magnificent wave on our planet. All those who surf if, whether greatly or poorly, have touched the zenith of our current relatinoship with our life giving sea-the heartbeat of our planet that makes surfing the sacred art that it is. I'm not getting soun on this. Is it me or is that just how it was uploaded?
@betteryeti you are so right!Laird Hamilton is a surfers surfer he has literally done it all! I dont think there is any kind of surfing he hasnt done from comp to big wave to SUP it doesn't matter hes one of the best there is!
looks like its a love/hate thing when it comes to SUP for many. I love both regular surfing and SUP. If the waves are small I go for the SUP, good enough for regular surfing and i do that. Don't see what the problem is. What i DO understand is sufers getting pissed if someone on a SUP disregards the lineup and catches all the waves further out. If ur on a paddle board just pick a break or peak further along the beach from the surfers, and everyone is happy and in the waves!
@LaughingWater2 Maybe if all the SUPs wern't poncing around calling proper surfing "prone" surfing and making out like they are doing something radical or innovative they might get a better reaction. Though I agree with you that they deserve about as much respect as Kayak surfers lol.
@padaxes Oh well i didnt know about that but i do Just About every watersport from Kayak Surfing To Wakeboarding But Surfing Is the Best tbh even though i aint really good at it since i havent had much time to surf since i dont get many waves but i like SUPs because you can practice it all the time but yeah only idiots think SUP is innovative its Retro and Old skool
@r3velationz I liked laird back in the 90s when he was experimenting with tow surfing and hanging with Paul Watson and the Sea Shepherd crew. But now with his incessant pimping of all things SUP-- seems homie is just a slave to attention. Laird has enough money to surf empty waves when he chooses. For those of us that don't -- I've seen two greedy stand up paddlers wreck whole line-up several times. Seen a loose SUP shoot by a little girl's head. Laird's at fault, a kook by association.
@gn8771 Laird is not an idiot , hes a legend. Its all the SUP wannabees in the surf i'm hating they are pathetic, going on about prone surfing and claiming they are the next level of evolution in the sport.

its all good guys. you got to get out there before you really know. any big waves are hardcore. i love these videos.
Mother nature is so incredible and powerful.
He could’ve delivered a pizza to the people on that boat
Laird makes it look so easy - coolest dude on the water. One wrong move...oh HELL no! A few right moves...oh HELL YEAH!!! :-D
The thing i find absolutely amazing is when you see the surfer go into the foam and you think... wow he must've fallen then you see them break back out of it... its so amazing to watch that :D
1:36 he seems so relaxed and fluid
This is beautiful!!!
thank. god for giving us those awesome 🌊 waves, respect to all surfers 🏄♂️ specially big wave riders , love 💕 what you do , and do what you love , hang loose 🤙 bro’s.
Laird's awesome. He's a super nerd like Clark Kent or something.
That may be the most gangsta thing I ever did see

Haha good mushies
2:10 for stand up paddling
If you go right at Teahupoo you end up in Narnia
Nope. You end up in the center of the earth
You end up in heaven/hell
i love watching walls of water turn into perfect gapeing barrels!
I tickled the foam ball here back in '09. They said it was the best ride they had ever seen.
=O shit dude ive seen his tow in wave here but that was just crazy i dont think i could surf for a thousand years and ever be able to paddle into a wave like that. That is outstanding.
Someone send me to Hawaii please. Laird awaits me xo

@betteryeti Well said brother; you supremely echo my sentiments as well.

lol @the guy innocently paddling and just gives up 1:58
I surfed second reef Pipe in the 70s and this place is insane. No way could you take off here with a stiff off shore breeze.
So cool
This POWER
balls of steel ... no question
I’ve never seen laird actually paddle into a wave
@padaxes I agree man, here in Brazil is full of SUP at sea and not everyone knows what they are doing ...

That function wasn't there one year ago brah.
1:52 Best Moment Ever!

I could do that to if I was Laird!
i will write the obvious.....LAIRD IS IN. SANE..........thumbs up
Wow. 1:34, a paddler got sucked up into the wave away from his board! He comes crashing down later.
2:10
OMG !!that guy at 1:06 got fuuuukd uuuuup...
THIS IS WRITTEN AT THE END OF 2021 . AND LAIRD IN NO WHERE TO BE SEEN FOR THIS ENTIRE YEAR . WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM ?
@padaxes ya...that's why he said revitalized.... he's not an idiot. don't go hating man
@byronmatthews i agree but thats not how he died he got held under and his leash got caught on some rocks
but i still agree
so im just learning to surf and stuff and i figured this would be a good place to start?
2 Bears 1 Wave
i wouldn't go to that place!! that's scary!
S,U,P stand up paddle, and be proud, laird dropping in....eddie would go...........
@pureefficient thats his board....
The wave it is big is it not?
This calls for a blumpkin
@staecows 3:03 for SUP on a gnarly wave though,
compared to where i live, thats a tsunami.
Fuck yeah =)
Don't you just miss the days when aerial cinematography had to be done with helicopters and waterproof cameras were the size of a breadbox?

Bart Kreischer sent me here. Anyone else?
@janclomannai tahiti!

@acdisboi u dont u just get pitched haha
2.10 to skip to the SUP
@LaughingWater2 Maybe if all the SUPs wern't poncing around calling proper surfing "prone" surfing and making out like they are doing something radical or innovative they might get a better reaction.
Though I agree with you that they deserve about as much respect as Kayak surfers lol.
Some people that can't sit down and some can't stand up!
it looks to me its all the boogers that are getting thrown over the lip
@padaxes Oh well i didnt know about that but i do Just About every watersport from Kayak Surfing To Wakeboarding But Surfing Is the Best tbh even though i aint really good at it since i havent had much time to surf since i dont get many waves but i like SUPs because you can practice it all the time but yeah only idiots think SUP is innovative its Retro and Old skool

1:07 that guy probably died. Being one with the lip over 4-5ft of water. Yup that dude died.
stand up paddle boards surfers steal all the waves
his frickin' hair is still dry
@superchanneljim that makes no sense what so ever.
@daltz25 Yeah that's the worst.
So who shot this footage?
laird on sup: 3:04
look how vertical 1:36 is
@gn8771 Laird is not an idiot , hes a legend. Its all the SUP wannabees in the surf i'm hating they are pathetic, going on about prone surfing and claiming they are the next level of evolution in the sport.
