8:35 I think that's actually the Kerr metric. For $\Sigma$ we have usually $a = \frac{J}{Mc}$ (J as angular momentum, M as the mass and c as the speed of light) and $\Sigma = r^2+a^2\cos^2\theta$.
That is very unusual to use a sigma there, though as that is for sums, nbut perhaps she is trolling them? Edit looked it up, there is infeed a sigma in the line element as you say. Nice detail, i will shout you out in e3 :)

if you want the lectures you'll have to read the vn haha, there they are quite well laid out and super interesting, Think they had to cut those out because they'd be very long and confusing for the average anime viewer, or maybe the director just had a hard time translating it well into animation, no clue
I am really enjoying this so far. You're the perfect person to react to this! But... god, I would pay so much money to hear you analyze all the science-talk in the VN that the anime cut.
I might give some selected scenes a go after infinish the show or play it in edited lets play format (though i am unsure if the latter would be of interest for enough people) :)
Funnily enough, I've read and watched some AMAs or interviews with people who work at CERN and they have mentioned they loved this anime and even play into some inside jokes related to this anime. They probably have a similar background with you, and the next few episodes show what hooked them into it. Looking forward to your insights as someone working in a related(probably understatement) field. As the saying goes "Good science makes good science fiction". The anime stretches some concepts a bit, but the scifi stuff has pretty solid foundations.
That String theory demonstrates the possibility of connecting the two theories mentioned in a mathematical language is a big accomplishment, even if nothing else about it is useable. It delivers proof of concept for a significant discovery. We've had stuff like that before with mathematically proving an answer exists years before finding the answer.
I feel kinda bad explaining the jokes XD 1) The whole thing with Okarin's "delusional speech" is simply a joke, he's chunibyo (Chūnibyō (中二病) is a Japanese colloquial term typically used to describe early teens who have grandiose delusions, who desperately want to stand out, and who have convinced themselves that they have hidden knowledge or secret powers.); he just imagines him being a super scientist, who's targeted by some unknown super powerful secret organization. Like, when a child imagines that stick is a sword and he's a knight. 2)When he thinks "But he's a dude" about Ruka is also a joke. He says, that he's way too feminine, even more feminine than women, BUT HE'S A GUY. Can be thought as, that he's attracted to Ruka's femininity, but stops himself by reminding him that Ruka is a guy.
The white board is stuff that was added to the anime, the VN(Visual novel) discussed 11 theories of theoretical time travel, I know for a fact that the VN goes more in depth into science stuff but can't really remember what the anime cut out considering I haven't watched it in a long time. I would heavily suggest reading the VN after the anime, it fills a lot of holes you might have in the anime. The "exotic matter" part is much more explained in the VN, at that moment, she wath she was saying is that using one of the theory (time travel using wormhole) would need exotic matter, not only the existence of wormhole isn't sure, but it would need exotic matter wich we have never confirm the existence, so using this method is highly improbable. they squiched all the discusion between them in a short moment (I mean, in the game, this part take almost an hour of text, with a lot of information in the log). There are some theory were she said it's totally impossible, and she basically don't believe in the possibility, but in the game she just show him that the condition for it's existence are very low.

Pretty much ever real name of a product or anything in this anime is a slightly changed version of a real one. Dk Pepper is Dr Pepper, Sciency magazine is Science Magazine and SERN is CERN, IBN is IBM, etc. Also, when you see unfocused writings behind characters doing science never assume they are supposed to actually represent the mathematics if it’s an advanced topic, only the experts in such fields can pull something like that off without being wrong. The writings are there only to convey the idea that there’s arguments for the topic there, not for the viewer to try to decipher. Also take into account that it’s not a submitted paper, it’s someone explaining and discussing in real time, stuff like a plus minus happens before simplification and when working with vectors it’s not extremely uncommon to write them without the arrow over it in such contexts if people are understanding they are vectors. Kurisu said at the beginning that she believes it’s not theoretically possible to time travel, as in there are no theories (or no theories she considers) that would allow time travel, she doesn’t claim it’s absolutely impossible but rather that there isn’t any reason for her to believe it is. What you saw is an overview of the events with the intent of showing us how Kyouma felt about it, so we only saw the moments where he felt he was being mocked, not the parts where she was explaining in depth. To me, as a trans woman, having watched all of Steins Gate, Ruka read to me much less as a feminine boy than they did as a trans woman or nonbinary.
I discovered u from ur bleach reactions and i never wouldve imagined u would watch Steins Gate! Was a great and pleasant surprise. Think you’ll enjoy it quite a lot
Many anime and manga series use altered versions of real-world organizations and company names to avoid potential legal issues. The reason lies in Japan's copyright and trademark laws, which are incredibly strict about unauthorized use of company names and brands. Rather than risk legal complications, creators often opt to create slightly modified versions that are still recognizable but legally distinct. Fair use in Japan pretty much doesn't exist, even for comedic purposes.
The anime is mainly story focused so alot of the scientific discussions arent there or even explored properly , the VN has hours long discussions about these if you are interested
COSMIC String theory is actually different from String theory. Cosmic String theory is basically using a cosmically long string to time travel. Funnily enough, they go over this in the full lecture in the VN.
I really appreciate the scientific commentary, which is uniquely different from from other reaction channels. Would like to see your reactions to Dr. Stone next, which is trying to showcase the real world science as accurate as possible while also discussing some key elements of human psychology.
The 3rd episode gives a lot of satisfying relevant info and stuff will start making sense with Kurisu joining the discussion. The first couple of episodes are notorious for being confusing, but that makes for a great reaction for the people who already know all of the context
i have been avoiding your channel because i wont to finish Bleach and then watch your reactions. But i have to see your reaction to steins gate xD i expect it to be FUN ahhah
I strongly encourage you to make a separate video watching or playing the very beginning of the VN where the game goes in depth with every Time Travel theory, its really so interesting!
Bananas are not supposed to become that green gel like substance when put in a microwave. Normally, they become a bit warm and becomes a bit bland in taste but nothing like what we see in this special microwave. Also to be noted that that gel like substance is not heated at all even though water molecules inside the banana should make it heated.
i really enjoy this show, but i do think the visual novels level of detail is more satisfying. the frameworks they build throughout this franchise are really fun.
I only know two methods of time travel. The 'park next to a black hole' one, where you physically go into the future, stay parked for 2 weeks, then get away from the gravity well, and you're 100 years into the future. Not sure how to physically go back in time, but you could look back in time. But that one has a pre-requisite catch. Basically, you move a powerful telescope a million light years away, and take a picture of earth. A *super* advanced telescope. With advanced AI to unscramble all the warping of light between. But even then, you'd need FTL, first. Warp drive. You'd have to outrun the light to see anything from the past. Considering we actually _know_ how to go forward in time (even though we can't, yet) and no one came to Stephen Hawking's secret time traveller party, I don't think physically going back is possible.
When i've watched this Show several years ago for the first time on Netflix, the episodes were not in correct order. As the first episodes were already quite confusing, I assumed It was part of the show that It jumps inbetween episodes aswell. It took quite some episodes untill i realized that mistake :D
i really hope you make more reactions, i liked your aot reactions.. but i know im gonna Love these, as its perfect for you, my personal Favourite Time travel anything (series, movies etc.. nothing competes)
My personal view on how time travel would work, if it were real - is that you can't change the past - and the present you live in has already taken into account any changes you - or any other time traveler - might have (tried to) cause/d. So if you traveled back in time, you could basically do whatever you want. You would not have to be caraeful not to change anything, because everything you did - has already happend in the "present" you came from. I guess that would mean I belief in destiny, or whatever.
Yes it is IBM, as in that was what John Titor was trying to obtain in the internet messages from the early 2000nds... I guess here they didn't want the copyright issues.
26:33 Nyan actually means meow. The word you mean would be neko I don't know if there are cat maid cafes. But there are plenty of cat cafes with actual cats.
5:00 I like the idea of the aggressive scientist - I know they're likely the minority but, what if they weren't? Just roving packs of scientists, ready to take their peers to task on the streets. The members of the George Church Genetics Lab at MIT just roving the streets of Boston, prowling around in their battle lab coats, making sure none of those reprobates from Harvard muscle in on their territory. "They swapped their pipettes for lead pipes, their dissertations for altercations." I mean, I'd watch that show, at least.
Makise Kurisu is meant to be a character who is a world-changing genius at a young age. I think it's one of the few things you need to suspend your disbelief on. That by 16 she's already revolutionized physics, and she's 18 as the series starts. They do some cut aways because obviously the writers can't just become revolutionary geniuses for the purposes of writing her character. So they did need to cut away from some of her explanations rather than make some stuff up. I think it's just important that she absolutely humiliated Okabe, everything he suggested she'd already thought of, disproved, and was able to prove to him. There's a second thing you have to suspend your disbelief on later, and they don't try to why it happens, none of the characters are able to work it out. But these are what make up the "fiction" of "science fiction".
This is put into perspective later when she explains that she is first and foremost a *neurobiologist,* not a physicist. This whole stuff about black holes and cosmic strings is not even her main field of study.
Chaos;Head is an insane ride and there should've been 1 or 2 references to it in this episode! Tho these subs look different than I remember so they might have been cut out here like they were in the dub. Sister Centipede/Gezi-nee (referenced in C;H, but not relevant until Robotics;Notes) and Lightning-fast Neighthart (C;H's MC), both are mentioned by Daru. More about the Visual Novels below if you're interested: Overall, I actually prefer Steins;Gate's dub, but it does leave out a few minor details (and that one joke), but then if you want the actual full story then you need read the VN anyway. The rest of the SciADV series is really cool, but I'd strongly recommend the VNs first. S;G is the only anime that I'd consider close to a replacement. The S;G0 anime is pretty good, but it is a completely different story from the VN and I'm not exaggerating! Both Chaos;Head and Chaos;Child are terrible animes, but great VNs. And Robotics;Notes is a decent anime, but a great VN. Anonymous;Code is VN only and connects a lot of the series together and even explains more about the Steins;Gate Load Region of Deja Vu Movie which appears to run on different rules
Go on, put some bananas in the microwave and tell me how many of them turn into green goo versions of themselves. 😂 Feels like you're being intentionally dense sometimes.
When you finish watching the anime, please do play the VN because it is a far better storyteller and everything is throughly explained in detail there.
8:00 The bottom half of a fraction is the Denominator in English, with the Numerator at the top. 10:00 I think you were fine. This is a unique show. It's strange. It's difficult to follow, especially at the beginning. With Time Travel involved, you're getting pieces of todays puzzle, tomorrows, yesterdays, and 2036's puzzles, with no real way to sort which is which yet. Rewatches are very rewarding, though...this may be a show you don't want to revisit. Maybe take a break after you finish and review the plot points before diving to a rewatch. I have a difficult time even rewatching it here. Emotions, man.
8:25 Pretty sure that weird Sigma-looking symbol is epsilon. That might not make the formula make more sense, but epsilon is a common letter in physics (e.g. permittivity) so it's the only logical conclusion.
You can find a video with the lectures from the game on youtube. Look up Steins;Gate Kurisu Time Travel Lecture, should be 25-ish minutes long. I highly recommend you post a video on that, as I'm sure many who are watching your videos on this show are more interested in your commentary on the lectures.
Hey love your videos - in the off chance you see this your mic seems to have changed from a few months ago (based on my hearing?) - it sounds like it has more distortion / sibilance now, just in case you did change it.
Ruka is really a dude. "-kun" suffix is used for males in japan and "-chan" is used for females [informally] Formally its usually "-san" to show respect.
@@storieswithstyle This show isn't super indepth on like trans or nonbinary or gender fluid people, say compared to Oda's work in One Piece. But the gist of it they're a dude, who presents as a female, and likes Okabe. Not much else to it rly. Edit: Also he's absolutely not trolling, he views Ruka as one of his closest friends and even goes above and beyond to entertain and make them feel better. There will be episodes about Ruka later on, but Okabe isn't being an asshole by not communicating their feelings or at least not trying to be.
@@CaptainBuggyTheClown You're giving information from future episodes to the reactor. Please don't do that. Confusion is not necessarily a bad thing, and it isn't a bad thing here. I'm sure the reactor is not asking commentors to take away his confusion, especially if the method of taking away involves information from future episodes.
I think you'd really like the VN more since it goes in-depth on things, but VN's don't really rack in the views on YT since much fewer people have read them and it'd be a long watch.
12:30 Isn't that the point though? You can't *disprove* exotic matter, but nobody found it, it's poorly supported by existing theories, e.t.c. So "yea sure, go find us some of that exotic matter, then you can talk" is a reasonable response to an unfalsifiable argument.
Why are you reading the bullshit equations on the whiteboard, they were very clearly drawn by animators who had no idea about the first thing about maths or physics 😭 Obviously no actual thought was put into that
So if you will go back to EP1, the rumbling he heard was of "landing" not crashing. When he goes to the roof to check it out we can see it was intact and upright. Later in the 2nd part when we see it again then its shown as crashed.
you don't need to explain everything, even if he misses details at first their time will come. This isn't something crucial that he *needs* to know now. It's not really even something he is expected to realize yet.
The show actually has a pretty limited cast of major characters, but when they throw them all at you one after the other the way they do this episode it still keeps everything fast-moving and confusing. Let the weirdness commence!(all science-people are weird to the average person)
It's a mystery science fiction thriller. With a bit of romance. Okabe is only in his nonsense when he's talking about "the organization". Especially if he's talking on his phone to no one. Everything else is actually happening.
Thanks for reminding me why I stopped watching your Frieren videos. God, you're annoying. The only Steins;Gate reaction I won't be able to tolerate watching.
@@fork6057 Someone's not going to know they're annoying if you don't tell them. I did think maybe I was being too harsh and was going to delete the comment, but thanks to yours, I realized how necessary it is. But maybe I'm being too vague and it's less than helpful to be such, so I guess maybe I should be more specific because I actually find him quite personable in general and like his reactions... when he's reacting. The problem is if ANYTHING is shown on screen or mentioned, he decides to give a full lecture on it as if he's the only one who knows anything about the subject. They show a microwave, he pauses to go on a lecture about how microwaves work. Some ANIME ARTISTS draw random scientific looking formulas on the boards with no context, he has to pause for several minutes to study them and complain and act exasperated because they don't make sense. If something is mentioned in the show, he immediately has to pause and spend 5 minutes explaining it before the show turns around and explains it. Hell, he went on for several minutes about the first line of the show which A) has no bearing on anything and B) is only there because it's how the VN opens. I have no problem with people pausing and reacting to the show, but I do have a problem when the show is paused and then a lecture ensues as if everyone else is completely uneducated. And yeah, I could just not watch, which is what I'm doing (or not doing) but he's still been wasting my time until that point where I can't take it anymore.
@@Kaylakaze if thats the case Im interested in his lectures on Frieren because I already watched an psychologist giving lectures on EACH Frieren chapter. After reading your comment I just wanted to add that I really liked his lectures about how the microwave works and how the first line of the show was inaccurate because I didnt know, but now I do thanks to him

It took quite some episodes untill i realized that mistake :D
keep in mind this is a story from 2008.
i really hope you make more reactions, i liked your aot reactions.. but i know im gonna Love these, as its perfect for you, my personal Favourite Time travel anything (series, movies etc.. nothing competes)
I'm enjoying your Steins;Gate reactions, and looking forward to them
Oh! I was going to sleep some before waking up later this night, but I guess it can wait 😅.
*I understand the importance of sleep, it is a joke
My personal view on how time travel would work, if it were real - is that you can't change the past - and the present you live in has already taken into account any changes you - or any other time traveler - might have (tried to) cause/d.
So if you traveled back in time, you could basically do whatever you want. You would not have to be caraeful not to change anything, because everything you did - has already happend in the "present" you came from.
I guess that would mean I belief in destiny, or whatever.
Yeah, in my experience that also made for the best stories :)
this is amazing the first episodes are kinda boring but trust me is worth it
Yes it is IBM, as in that was what John Titor was trying to obtain in the internet messages from the early 2000nds... I guess here they didn't want the copyright issues.
I really love your reaction to this anime, you'll really like it I'm sure
26:33 Nyan actually means meow. The word you mean would be neko
I don't know if there are cat maid cafes.
"They swapped their pipettes for lead pipes, their dissertations for altercations."
I mean, I'd watch that show, at least.
You should play Visual Novel. It’s actually in the same universe as Chaos;Head. Literally C;H came out, then S;G came out.
Yeah, it has a heavy c:h feeling. Funny that they are actually from the same people :D sono me dare no me :D
Fun fact in the German dub they call it cern, like the real world Organisation
another greate show perfect for a physics reaction is "orb: about the movement of the spheres"
More about the Visual Novels below if you're interested:
Overall, I actually prefer Steins;Gate's dub, but it does leave out a few minor details (and that one joke), but then if you want the actual full story then you need read the VN anyway.
Rukako really is a dude and he only respects him not like him...
Go on, put some bananas in the microwave and tell me how many of them turn into green goo versions of themselves. 😂 Feels like you're being intentionally dense sometimes.
You need to play the VN if you want to see the theories in detail XD
Dont worry, you'll get plenty of time with the characters to know them properly
When you finish watching the anime, please do play the VN because it is a far better storyteller and everything is throughly explained in detail there.
Nice!
9:18 I need him to react to the chapter of Big Bang Theory in where Sheldon and Penny discuss string theory xD
7:56 - Perhaps it's Epsilon?
Ruka is really a dude. "-kun" suffix is used for males in japan and "-chan" is used for females [informally]
Formally its usually "-san" to show respect.
Yeah, i think? That was so confusing, but not th emost confusing part xD
@@storieswithstyle Ruka is something they call femboy or trap, i think
I'm sure the reactor is not asking commentors to take away his confusion, especially if the method of taking away involves information from future episodes.
you should play the VN because it got even more detail
I think you'd really like the VN more since it goes in-depth on things, but VN's don't really rack in the views on YT since much fewer people have read them and it'd be a long watch.
I would like it if you react to dr stone i think it will be great with your commentary.
Pls listen to the opening song it's so good
This anime is weird, but in a good way
12:30
Isn't that the point though? You can't *disprove* exotic matter, but nobody found it, it's poorly supported by existing theories, e.t.c. So "yea sure, go find us some of that exotic matter, then you can talk" is a reasonable response to an unfalsifiable argument.
Mindfuck the anime. Its good that you are into details. I will watch your reaction til SG0!
hii can you react to orb on the movements of the earth or chi chikyuu no undou ni tsuite? i'd love to see your reaction
Why are you reading the bullshit equations on the whiteboard, they were very clearly drawn by animators who had no idea about the first thing about maths or physics 😭 Obviously no actual thought was put into that
Well, sometimes they there are. One of them was actually a solution to the kerr metric. I think she was just f*ing with them
So if you will go back to EP1, the rumbling he heard was of "landing" not crashing.
Yeah, please don't make comments like this that steer the reactor away from what would be his 'natural reaction' to the series
Rumbling, rumbling, it's coming!
Please watch it on english dubbed 🙏🙏
I am sure you would enjoy it more and won't put off watchers of your reaction videos. 🙏🙏🙏
Pleaseeeee
Thanks for reminding me why I stopped watching your Frieren videos. God, you're annoying. The only Steins;Gate reaction I won't be able to tolerate watching.
You’ve been on RUclips for 18 years. Youre not a child. And this is the type of thing you say?
@@Kaylakaze You are far more annoying than him
@@Kaylakaze if thats the case Im interested in his lectures on Frieren because I already watched an psychologist giving lectures on EACH Frieren chapter. After reading your comment I just wanted to add that I really liked his lectures about how the microwave works and how the first line of the show was inaccurate because I didnt know, but now I do thanks to him
There's tons of reactor channels that only go "wow" "whaaaat" and just laugh at stuff without any thought behind it. If this channel isn't for you then there's literally tons of other reaction channels that offer base level analysis
