- Easy and cheap DIY basin wrench for plastic faucet nuts and plastic water supply nuts. If your basin wrench doesn't fit or slips on the plastic faucet nuts, try making your own wrench.
This wrench is a good alternative for a basin wrench. It's easy to make, all you need is piece of PVC pipe and some basic tools. The tool's notches grip the wings on plastic nuts found on bathroom and kitchen faucets.

wow, you saved me at least $22 , the cheapest wrench I could find. Took me maybe 30 minutes to make with some scrap schedule 40 i had laying around...works like a champ thanks so much
You are welcome. Sometimes it pays to hoard scraps from other projects.
Thanks for the simple and ingenious idea. As always..."Why didn't I think of that".
You are welcome.
Great video... I knew there had to be something... And we have plenty of PVC at home... Thank you!
You are welcome. Another thing that might help if it is stuck, spray some PB Blaster penetrating oil on the connection. The smell is really bad... make sure to ventilate.
I used a thin wall 1" pvc pipe and it worked. Thanks so much for the tutorial. This saved me $20 (cheapest price for a basin wrench tool at my local hardware store).
You are welcome, David. Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience.
Thank you! Worked like a charm to loosen corroded plastic nuts!
You're welcome, Beverly!
Thanks... good job... the nut I am struggling with has FOUR tabs, so just doing what you showed twice on the PVC.... I had this idea prior to finding your video, but was intending to use thin wall conduit... Will give the PVC a try first....!
Good idea. This is what I'm looking for. Thanks for sharing
You are welcome.
Exactly what I needed. Thank you very much!

Know How Now I already did. :)
I just found this .. thank you .. I did this using my soldering iron using a long piece of old pvc .. if you leave it long you do not need the screw driver holes :) .. it works great

Genius!!!
Nice thank you
You are welcome.
Wow. Not gonna do all that but wow
It's not for everyone, but if the nearest store is closed or a long drive away, it may be worth the work.
How did you put that tool on 2nd nut with hose on it. Trick photography? Not too handy if your hoses are still connected and you can't reach nut holding them.
You just have to disconnect the other end of the supply hose - you can reach that without a basin wrench. You need to disconnect that to remove the sink or replace the hose anyway. Then slide the PVC pipe up the hose and turn. No trick photography needed or hostility needed.
Hey Mrs. KNOW HOW, I can't believe they asked you that. LOL!
