People that knock backrests either don't travel long distance and/or have never ridden with one. Game changer for touring
Definitely
Totally agree with that comment
If you’re over 40 you appreciate the back rest!!
Correct the back rest is fantastic and a must for touring
Comfort on a long trip is essential, and a good seat and backrest makes all the difference in the world.
I'm not a Harley-Davidson guy. But I admire this man builds and knowledge on HD bikes. Keep up the good information in helping people with their choices.
I appreciate that!
It's in our Jersey DNA 👊🏽
Each time I watch you always seem to show some shortcut or tip I didn’t know before. Thanks for the display tips!!
The seat and backrest aren't even visible when you're riding it lol, that's the perfect setup for cross country or if you just love extreme comfort with no back pain whatsoever✌️
I did this ride mode setup on my 24 RG weeks ago and the throttle response definitely gives you more fuel in every throttle position when set to Max.
31 miles, I feel your pain! I live in MD, which means we get about the same weather. I bought a new 2023 SG in Feb and I'm sittin' at 61 miles.
Love the notion of a modest build, simple yet refined. Can't wait for the Bar and Riser reveal😎
I set up my custom ride mode almost immediately when i got my Road glide in February. I set it up pretty much like yours except +1 on engine braking. Its great!
I call it super sport mode💪.
Heel shifter is a must!!
Love your new bike! I just got the black on black a month ago as well. Custom mode definitely gives the bike more kick. Way more responsiveness for sure! I came out of a 2022 road glide special and I love this 24 so much more. Keep up the great post!
Dude!!! Every time I watch one of your videos I learn something about the road glide I didn’t know existed.
The button on the left switch housing to turn on accessory mode is badass.
You’re not kidding about the custom A settings being faster. I set mine up like that recently and if it wasn’t for my backrest, my bike might have left me behind when I hit the throttle.
Blackjack looks awesome with the backrest btw. I ride with my backrest on everywhere. Nothing like kicking back when I go on a long ride or even just the grocery store.
Love the videos. Keep em coming
I really like the direction you’re going with this build a lot more practical For the every day Rider
I am a new subscriber. I really appreciate how frequently you put out videos. I am already learning a lot for when I get my 24 Roadglide. Thank you.
Set my 24 Street Glide custom mode settings identical to yours. Woke this bike up! What a difference! Thanks. I’ve also ordered the rear lights and covers from custom dynamics with your discount code. Thank You. Enjoy all the videos you put out. Can’t wait to see the cam and tune upgrade. Waiting patiently.
a cam , heavy breather extreme slip ons and a tune woke mine up
Black jack is coming along nice 👍🏻
Nice John, glad to see you got Black Jack set up and ready to roll out for touring. I have a back rest on my Road King. Best thing I ever did. It's your ride and your comfort, John.
Who gives a dam if this guy and that guy likes it or not. Do your thing, john. Bike looks beast!
John, is there any way you can show us what you had to do for the forward stock bars?... Perhaps before you fully remove them, for your new bars??? Thanks for all of this BTW!
I did have a Saddlemen Road Sofa on my 2020, it is great. Just waiting for the seat that came with my 2024 to crap out. Then I’ll probably get another one.
the 2024 seats are GARBAGE , i bought a mustang in laconia last weekend and i only had a 500 mile ride home
I don’t care how nerdy it looks the back rest works big time. I didn’t get it with my road sofa and now regret it.
Intresting building strategy and plans!
Custom mode looks very simple to do to get some more gains!
Can’t wait to have all the new mods on it…. Stage 2 is more than enough 👍🏼💪🏼💪🏼
then you've obviously never ridden a fast bike , my 24 sg at stage 2 would get walked by my 2007 m109r with a tune and pipes
then you've obviously never ridden a fast bike, my 24 sg stage 2 would get walked by my old 2007 m109r with a tune and a pipe
Riding fish is looking for you. 😮 He wants a race. Seat looks great. Just kidding about fish I watch him too. Sat on the 24 road glide and I have to admit, I like it alot😅
Get it let’s goooo
Love the seat I think it looks great! Bsck rest is amazing got one on my road glide I’d never go back. Looking good man!
Looking great ! I look forward to your build.👍🏻
I went with FOX on the back of my 21 Night and Day Differents 🎉 waiting on Fox to come up on a new Version of front fork shocks!
looks awesome with and without! Enjoy the ride brother
John that seat is very nice.
Thanks
I say Wilburs suspension..
cam-- star 30/30
Hi John, do you know if saddleman will be making the saddleman step up touring like Sandy has for the 24 model touring bikes, I have not seen anything yet. I like the look of the step up with removable backrest.
You become wiser with age hence the backrest, a must for long distance travel! I guess cam is a Cycle-Rama 480 MT! New suspension sounds interesting watching with interest! John great job with the channel brother great content !!
I would put the backrest on when going into that custom mode
New subscriber. Don’t LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE. Love that seat. Looks real good. Looking to buy a road-glide after selling my softail deuce.
Wilbers. Great choice.
Nice looking seat.
What was your motivation for going with Custom Dynamics tail lights? I thought that Harley had finally put decent looking tail lights on a standard model. I totally get changing out that license plate mount though.
Harley’s LED’s are the dimmest LED’s possible. Custom Dynamics are at least twice as bright, if not more. The LED’s on my 22 Low Rider ST were really pathetic.
@@FFL-vg9royeah but what does your wife's bike have to do with it?
Found the Sofa sat you up on the bike too high. I love my SDC.
i went with a mustang , the people working there vendor booth for saddleman at laconia weren't very friendly and the people at mustang were great plus they actually had a seat i could sit on and try
You will love the Wilbers suspension. I have run it for 2 years, it's great.
Put the backrest back on it to hell with how it looks comfort is the main thing trust me your back will thank you
Back rest On! Back rest off! Looks great. Both ways…. But. I’m sure…. Once U ride with the back rest on. Ur not gonna wanna take it off. Like the Memphis shades. Or a good windshield. Ur gonna wanna keep that back rest on.
Old guys like Ur. Need that comfort….
Old guys like me 😂😂
@@CYCLEFANATIX Like me. I’m 10 years Older then U
That road sofa sure gonna beat that step up those are hell to ride more than an hour or two
Seat looks great btw
👍👍👍👍been waiting to see this video on modes
Hope you like it!
I totally like that saddle, when I have seen those usual RG saddles, I have not understand the point, this is not a sportbike, this bomb would be a sportbike when 300-350 pounds less, so why not to have comfortable passenger seat?
I have a Mustang solo seat with a backrest. I love it. It's a godsend for your back, but what do us old guys know, huh
same
Excellent video as always!!!
Went with the old man saddleman this time eh?? Can’t blame ya man, the step up seats are not good for long distance etc
Since we have the same bike, what is seating position with the Saddlemen standard vs the stock seat? I want to buy the RS for the long trips. Thanks for your help.
To be honest with you, it really feels the same no difference between the two seats, this is the standard reach that I have
@@CYCLEFANATIX thanks a lot for your reply and just for the record, I love the rider backrest. These machines are made for comfort!
Glade I saw this one, I've been eyeballing a Roadsofa myself and was wondering what reach and if your position was still the same. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice review keep up the good work
I know you are going to put bars and risers on, but are they going to limit your view of the infotainment screen.
Definitely not. I made sure of that.
Very good
I live in Staten Island.. So i feel your pain as I get the same weather pattern.. I Don't use rain mode so can't understand why it keeps raining here !! 🤣
Love the seat. I have the exact same one. Did you notice the exposed fuel tank bolts with the new Saddlemen?
Seat looks good John and back rest or not is totally up to you and looks good either way. I too have 2 seats from saddle man. SDC seat that I use for solo riding and a Road Sofa with no backrest for 2 up.
Hi, I'm curious about the differences between sdc and road sofa. Thanks.
My guess on the cam is CR483 ? Been doing a lot of research on this one for myself.👍🏼
Wow... Im starting to love this Harley even though I have one that Im currently investing a ton into. Question, having this ability with mapping on the fly, could this be something you could use to further tune your bike if needed once upgrades are applied? Also, would you ever be open to having some subs joining you in these long distance rides? I have some time.. lol. Thx in advance brother, hope all is well.
Beautiful Bike. 💪💯🙏
Backrest? I run with my HD adjustable at least 50% of the time, looks bad with my recovered Stock seat. 47,500 miles… Plus it screams this bike rolls so hard I need a ephing backrest
The Road Sofa is without a doubt the most uncomfortable seat I've ever owned! I ditched it for the Mustang Super Touring Deluxe.
Love the new bike. Just got a 24 as well. Do you have a seat recommendation for a tall rider?
Redshift 472or cycle Rama 480 cam
You’re close, but that’s not the one, take another guess
Fueling 465
Will you be at Americade this year? If so where and when for a meet and greet? Thanx
I myself did like the look of the backrest on Blackjack , that’s just me
What are you using for the phone mount?
Question love your channel give me some feedback I have a 22 road glide Apex road glide special. I’m thinking about trading for a 23 road glide ST to get the unbelievable low interest rate and swap it out all the parts that I bought for my 22. What do you think?
@CycleFanatix Looking at buying my first Harley. After watching your video's, I think that I am going to go with the Road Glide. Nice thing is, I live 20 minutes from Battlefield HD. Any recomendations? Gear ETC?
The right stuff!
I love your videos dude
Bike is looking sweet 🤟
37 miles? Do you ride regularly?
Ride? I put 20 to 30,000 miles a year on my bike.
He lives in Jersey. Where real weather happens. Yes he rides in all sorts of weather. Brand new bike, don't blame him a bit for wanting the salt to get washed off the roads and keep it clean for the time being. Especially when it's brand new and he's currently modifying it. Upstate NY here, so I know how it goes. Watch more than 1 video before posting dumba** comments
@@PitbullSocoMan, it was a simple question. I get liking someone’s content, but the level of dick riding is extremely odd. I asked him, not one of his simp’s. Reason I asked he’s had it some time now and 37 miles is put on going/coming from gas station.
I did a stage one on mine and its more then quick enough really. 117 has really good power. I have a 21 with a stage 4 vefore and this is not much slower
Hi. What is the brand of that blue shirt like moto jacket you are sometimes wearing?
My guess is CR480MT or CR483 for the cam !
Well, trottle response is the only parameter potentially different from the sport mode ...
It’s Wednesday and I already have 800 miles on the bike this week - with a Saddlemen Road Sofa and Backrest. Another 400 miles planned for Friday and Saturday. I wonder how many miles the “Backrest Haters” have on their couches this week 😂
Like the name choice
I gotta say....my favorite bike name has to be "Silverback".
Did that seat change rider position forward or back etc
Not a fan of the white stitching…at all
It’s silver
@@CYCLEFANATIX it’s funky
How TF did you get the "Bike Info" on the screen?
Woods cam!?
You would be crazy not to use a cycle Rama cr483 cam best on market
John 0 to 60 times before and after then
👍
No oil cooler is 100% liquid cooled from a radiator.
CYCLERAMA TIME
Fueling cam and the back seat comments come from people that don’t ride long distances
Dont get it wet.
Who cares what people say
