    *persuasive image package (looks, vocabulary, knowledge, charm)
    *authenticity
    *only talk for 30sec, brief & direct
    *confessional paraphrasing - make them elaborate on their own ideas
    *Ransberger pivot - dont attack a persons error; listen, say something positive
    "Thats a really good point, but i still dont understand how...''
    *mindful manners
    *slow down and get to know them
    *potential answers, ''i can answer that question but 1st i need to know what u did?''
    *unfinished questions ''when ur boss yelled at u you felt?''

    Earn people's trust to screw them over. Basically just don't talk to FBI no matter how nice they are, because all of that is fake. Any genuine connection you feel will be betrayed because the agent has a career to pursue, and that's more valuable to the agent than "rapport" with someone they'll never see again once their job is finished.

    If you are going into a contract negotiation trying to gain the upper hand, I'd argue that you are not a good negotiator or a truly honest person. Both parties should leave feeling that both have reached agreeable terms, not like they have been had or that they pulled a fast one.
