Yes it can be those rocky mountains, sometimes on final descent, windy conditions. Those pilots do a great job.
DEN gets all sorts of crazy weather
@@RyanVince Yeah used to fly into Stapleton from Col Springs a lot in high school. Always something happening no matter the season!
@@RyanVinceI’ve had turbulence into Denver even on the nice days.
You ain’t kidding! Seems to be the norm for Denver. Well done, thanks for the upload 👍🏻
It was quite the ride. Felt like I was in one of the smaller planes I fly not an airliner with all the bumps!
God’s earth is absolutely beautiful!🥰
Great Video!
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Make sure to check out my other videos too.
What an excellent view of the wing.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Flew in and out of Stapleton only but it was most often quite windy. Used to do between Denver and Colorado Springs including on Rocky Mountain Airways (usually a Twin Otter). Could feel the turbulance and ears popping on the descent. Nice landing. Those longer runways at Denver International must come in handy.
Stapleton was even worse than the relocated airport!
I live in florida and flew to denver last month. Starred out the window at colorado, amazed that eastern half is flat and western half is mountains. Kansas looked entirely flat flying across. 😊
Colorado has such a variety of terrain from rolling hills of the plains to arid almost desert to the south and then the mountains from lush trees in the north to very rocky in the south
I kept waiting for the extreme turbulence to show up, but I must've blinked and missed it.
“Extremely Turbulent” is what the title says, not extreme turbulence. Extreme would result in the aircraft needing inspections for damage
Bumpy ride for sure but crystal clear video and audio. Some of the sky videography was stunning. Great job!
It was a great approach!
This was my experience flying out of Denver to Vegas last Sunday afternoon.
Its always bumpy here!
I watch for flaps starting down. Im 70 and renred cessna 150's and 152's for 45 years. They are fun when its bumpy. 😊
For DEN standards, that was actually not too bad. It can be much worse approaching from the west over the mountains. Then it's a roller coaster ride! Nice video!
I'd say this was a roller coaster ride, in the bumps you were just held into your seat by the belt and stuff that wasn't secured went flying.
@@RyanVince can you direct me more or less where on the video I can see this? I honestly couldn't find it.
Go to the beginning of the Severe Turbulence section around 7:20 in. Unfortunately the image stabilization on my phone is almost too good but you can see the times it does rattle pretty good and the stabilization couldn’t keep up, was basically because I was floating in my seat and the camera went for a bit of a ride
Some pockets of moderate bumps. Good video, though.
Denver is always bumpy!
Gotta love rotor winds from those mountains. In a C172 this is much much freakier. I would kill to fly an airliner through this crap, us small guys get it rough! Lol!
I'd say this was on par with some good Colorado moderate in a small GA plane, the stabilization made it smoother!
I love my flight a bit bumpy
It was quite the bumpy approach into DEN
There's just certain airports you should expect to get your butt kicked when flying into. Denver is certainly one of them especially if it's a windy day! I love it! PHX on a really hot summer day has some crazy convection (imagine that)
Denver is always a crazy airport!
Albuquerque is no slouch either.
Den, PHX, LAS, ABQ, PSP, etc. expect a few bumps approach or climb out. Chill, you’ll be there shortly.
DEN is the worst for turbulence. It’s always fun to get bounced around though!
its denver tho so im not surprised
It's always bumpy in Denver
Normal for any plane ascending and descending. Lighter the plane the more movement obviously. Looked like a beautiful day to fly into Denver. Estimated 80% of people have not flown in their lifetime. That’s unreal. Try to enjoy it.
Turbulence like that is not normal for aircraft. This particular day there was mountain wave off the Rockies
@@RyanVincethat was very light to light turbulence, it's extremely common especially in that area of the SW USA
That wasn't severe turbulence, that was moderate - severe turbulence is defined as momentary loss of aircraft control and requires a maintenance inspection of the aircraft right after landing to check for structural damage.
Where in the video is it listed as Severe, I don’t think I state anything other than it’s extremely turbulent?
@@RyanVince it's in the chapter title
Unless I’m totally missing something, all I see is “Worst Turbulence” at 7:20
Where were you flying from
This flight was flying from Cancun, Mexico.
As the other user said, this plane was inbound from CUN
I hate to say it, but for Denver flying, that was about normal. Maybe slightly worse, but not much. We're just used to it...
I fly into Denver all the time, that was by far the worst I have experienced in hundreds of flights
I kept watching for the "extreme turbulence" that never came. Must be a first time nervous flyer or something.
It's labeled in the video. Unfortunately the image stabilization made look a lot better than it was.
@@RyanVince gotcha. That makes sense now. My Samson phone would be bouncing around like it was in a popcorn maker 😂.
Where were you flying from?
I have lived in Denver for fifty years and I have never had one smooth flight in and out of there. LOL and of course I'm already really afraid of flying. I only fly two or three times a year, that's about all I can handle. LOL
Do you know when is better to fly into Denver to avoid turbulence? I know early mornings are best, how about the time of the year? I need to see family in Denver, but I can’t take those landing approaches.. I’m too anxious. Im willing to drive 8 hours from Salt Lake City in order to avoid this.
@@Omi-ub3cuId suggest you go at night. Less TURB then. Mid day during the summer has thermals that create a bit of bumps. WInter is best if you want to fly during the day.
What do you mean, "extremely turbulent"? Just a smooth landing here in Florida.
Did you watch the section of the approach where it was labeled for turbulence. That day the bumps were caused by mountain wave and gusty low level winds
God what a horrible airport! They put it in the absolute worst possible location for turbulent winds coming over the mountains and diving down to the surface. And there is STILL, 30 years later, not a damn thing anywhere near it. They closed a perfectly good airport 10 miles from downtown to build this monstrosity!
First off, the old Stapleton airport was worse for winds compared to the current Denver airport. Secondly, have you been to DEN lately, there’s houses and shops and everything else near the airport. It is absolutely not in the middle of nowhere anymore
Cue the screaming child 🙄
It’s a given no matter how hard you try to avoid them
@@RyanVince 😣
Figures, I new it would be Denver before I even looked. Consistently the worst city to land into in the entire US. Another reason I hate living in Denver. Even though there were some bumps towards the end that is a completely normal Denver landing
Denver is always bumpy but that’s what makes it fun!
That turbulence wasn't that bad...moderate at best.
Where'd you fly in from? They're talking about border patrol and shit in there.
Cancun!
@@RyanVince Oh, that makes sense.
Thank you for the upload. I hate to say this but that isn't an extremely turbulent or "crazy bumpy" approach. I do respect your thoughts on this but this flight here would honestly be considered fairly low chop or turbulence. My family and I fly probably 10 times a year and I can't remember many times where (anywhere) there wasn't some light chop either during takeoff or landing. I've been on a few flights where moderate and reasonably serious turbulence (not severe) occurred and I can tell that this isn't at all what that is. You'll know it when you come across it, believe me. But you know what, even on those few rare occasions, the pilots and plane had no problem simply bringing us through it. It was no big deal at all.
Turbulence? You don't know what turbulence is... 😅
Oh I’m sure I do with the number of broken iPad screens I’ve ended up with while flying
OK, if you say so... I was only commenting on what I see in the video - I guess it looks different when you sit in the front left seat...
