I'd love to see one of these. I've seen the "normal" 997.2 GT3RS and the GT2RS, but not this 4.0. Hopefully that changes soon.

This is my dream car. Exact spec and color choice. This one is so rare in grey. lOVE IT! interesting, this spec is missing the nicer, wider body GT2 side skirts that normally come standard on the GT3 RS models. hmmm

If I had unlimited budget this would be it.
Awesome car no doubt. The price difference from a 997 gt3 to a gt3rs to a gt3rs 4.0 makes no sense. Especially when you take into account the cost of a carrera gt. I get that they’re all special; also I get the production #’s are low. Regardless that much of a jump isn’t worth it. Porsches these days are listed with 50k premiums just for pts colors. I get exclusivity & options. But a color should not take the car into a whole different price category. I guess we’ll see if the market stays in the direction it’s in for enthusiast focused models.
4.0 is probably the best and most important of modern 911s, heck you could even consider it's on par with the 2.7 rs, the Last Mezger definetely deserve it's price tag. Now for the "special editions" and cars with pts I agree with you.
