Jaguar F-Type P450 Road Review | Supercharged V8 sound machine

- There is a new Jaguar F-Type. Well, pretty much. The face is new, the engine lineup has been refreshed, but that’s pretty much it. But to be honest, with the giant 5.0-litre supercharged V8 now crossing even more of the range than before, we’re pretty happy with what we got. That V8 makes a noise akin to several gods gargling and cracks and pops like no other car, certainly not one that is just as pretty as the F-Type.
But, given that it is a 5.0-litre supercharged GT, even with the all-wheel-drive system that this one comes with and an automatic gearbox, is there a place in the modern world for the Jaguar F-Type still? Is this one final flourish for might sounding British vehicles that delight and entice with sound and beauty?
We’ll have to wait to bring you our thoughts on the F-Type R, which is now only available in all-wheel-drive form, and our considerations on the rear-wheel-drive version of the P450 - the only rear-driven V8 in the range - but here is our review of the new Jaguar F-Type P450 in First Edition guise.

F-Type or Carrera?
F-Type as there’s more theatre.
I gotta go with the F-type for design, although it doesn’t have as much power and handling, I like the lower headlights. It gives it a more determined look.
F-Type! There's nothing better than that V8 roar! Also it's practical with it's 407l boot, we did a 3 week long European Road Trip in it, try that in the Carrera 😄
And it was super comfortable as well!

The clean 5 Spoke Wheels with Red Calipers
That's not a car. It's a musical instrument. Love it.
Yea, a digital mixer. I’d rather play a guitar
I bought mine to keep as long as it runs, never gonna sell it 😁
I already seem to make everyone happy be it my passangers or just pedestrians or other road users. People absolutely love the look and sound, especially in Europe! The car had amazing reactions anywhere we went on our 4200 mile long European round trip.
It does help that it's a Firesand Orange 😄
Great video. I’m going to swap my Cayman for an F-Type convertible. It’ll be a worthy stablemate to my GR Yaris. 😎
I’m Finally getting my P450 Reims edition in a few weeks I’ve had the 2019 V6 380 RWD what a car absolutely love Jaguars ❤️👌🏼👍🏼
I loved the history in the beginning, keep it up!
Hopefully I will be able to afford one in a few years!
That's a beautiful car
Brilliant review but you forgot one thing. The successor to the fabulously atmospheric rumble of the Merlin, the Jet engine, makes a tremendous noise! Electric cars.............??? Not even the slightest. Speed without spirit! Pace without passion!! I am buying an F Type soon...I'll never buy an EV!
It is now a rival of the Maserati GrandTurismo coupé in styling... which is gorgeous!
"It is an assault on your senses" I loved that. It´s true :D
(I just don understand why the p450 even has a supercharger... they could have at least given it 500ps)
Royal Canadian Air Force spitfire :) and I drive a P300 2021 F-type ;)
The P300 is the way to go.
Spitfire was a fantastic turn fighter which was basically gutless in a climb relative to the German fighters of the time. This Jag seems nothing like that. Powerful, intimidating, but not much of in a corner.
I liked that
Chaos. love this car.
I really want my fiancee to drive F-Type in the future. Sleek, sexy, sophisticated look. And I will be driving LC500.
You can still buy the v6 in the states..... Also the new front end looks like a mustang.. Once you see it, you cannot unsee it.
I was looking online just now and it seems like the V6 is dead in the states too. Also, it seemed like that was the only model available with a manual, which I think Clarkson may have mentioned on TG
I immediately thought of the Mustang as well looking at the front end.
@@Hillclimbfan1990 They are not alike at all, when see them in person
New front end makes it look like a Japanese company built it.
Its starting to grow on me though, I like it
Don’t like the headlight change at all
@@fpsproductions6073 hard pass from me. I quite like the previous style though
Hi freind I sending you my support
Is the in-cabin sound synthesised?
No. It's a real sound coming from the engine and exhaust
Europe muscle car
Indian now regardless where it’s built
@@redram5150 british designers - built in the u.k
Without the brits ,the car is nothing
@@andyniblett8986 and without foreign money repeatedly buying the company it would have gone the way of the rest of the uk auto industry
@@redram5150 - err foreign money , are you referring to the money given to tata by the British govt ?
If jaguar had any real Indian identity , no one would buy it .
Its because its british , designed and built in Britain, with its British heritage that the car sells
@@andyniblett8986 even before Tata, the previous owner was Ford. The only thing that matters is who the owners are
The front looks sort of like a Jaguar now. Sad? Those people are sad...
"Big 5 litre V8"
Americans: pffffffft
Jaguar is made by TATA motors of INDIA.
Well done India. Made in India label is beginning to appear
It's NOT made in India! Did you not listen to the commentary! Made in the former Spitfire factory at Castle Bromwich in the English Midlands. Tata is the parent company that owns Jaguar LandRover.
The company is owned by an Indian billionaire- thats it
Jaguars say on the label coventry 1935 .
The cars are now built close to where I live in Birmingham , in what was the spitfire factory
Designed by brits
Built by brits
Manchester utd are owned by an American, but they will never be called American will they 🤣
Don’t let any real car facts get in the way of your flowery narrative… This guy knows nothing about the F-Type from an owner or driver perspective.
manual gearbox option? Nope - meh
As much as I see the quality of a manual - if it is a good manual that is - some cars are for me just better suited to having an automatic transmission. We can go on and on about how the ideal version of a car would be driven on a track but they rarely are being driven there. It's a shame but so little of these cars are going to be driven enthusiastically other than the rare burst of acceleration on the road and the sales reflect it. The performance of fast cars these days is so high that the shifting of gears is almost over before you get to enjoy it. I think we have to go back to lower performance cars - old cars - to really have the oppotunity to really get to enjoy shifting gears without driving like maniacs on the road. The whole performance figure thing of cars instead of the pleasure of actually driving them has put a damper on the cars being made today as far as I'm being concerned.
